they were legal, tags and all
it was when i was 13 (26 now) in the Michigan UP.
IIRC, the turkey was ~18lbs. seems like it has been forever :shrug:
it didnt take very long for the kill, they were all over the place, in the dozens.
i used my Grandpas Ithaca 12g pump.
i dont recall what the buck weighed, it wasnt very big/old and had a small rack. (similar too what the guy posted with the baby in the pic)
i do know my brother was gone for more then 24hrs, before he got it. said he just sat on his ass the whole time waiting for the oppurtunity.
he used a rifle.
had some great Venison sausage, chili, jerky etc., great stuff!
it does take time/patience, i'll give you that.
i know certain types of hunting require tremendous amount of skill and knowledge.
but 95% of hunting involves sitting around quietly, waiting for the oppurtunity, calling out every once in a while and thats about it.
patience and a good shot is about all you need to be successful.
