the springs job is just to carry the weight, its not supposed to prevent bottoming, it just allows the bike to ride in its proper position, another words the deeper in the stroke the stiffer the shock linkage gets, so by putting a stiffer spring on it will ride higher in the stroke but wont give you any better bottoming protection to speak of, the shock needs to be revalved for the riders weight to keep it from bottoming

its on the cover of sandsports magazine, may/june issue.

Banshee power is easy to wheelie compaired to my busa. Go to planet sand, under utah sandmountain, posted by red1977, 95mph wheelie up sandmountain pretty much the length of the hill.

Thanks you guys appreciate your support, Its gettin better all the time to bad I dont have the time to dedicate to it anymore, just kinda gets washed and run these days. Wont even have time to update it before fallon hope she runs ok.

retail is 699.00 a pair, we sell a Long travel A arm kit with the Floats in a package.
-
My busa quad has Floats on it, hammers the whoops and can even hold up to small jumps on that 513lbs monster of a bike, also have duel float rear shock system on the busa, works very well. Have a set of floats on my CRF450 work great but will fade in mx after about 10 min, but they only get a little fast on rebound when they fade, the heat makes the air pressure go up so they dont get soft, they just get fast, have a set of evol X on the front of my Rhino, and duel floats on the rear of the Rhino, so far no elkas, axis, pep, bilstien, ohlins, have I ever gotten to work as well. Check out the video of my Rhino on planetsand, under utah sandmountain, click on red1977 third videol long travel Rhino, sucks up those whoops like butter. Personally there is no shock that works better or saves as much weight, nothing like dropping 13lbs on the front of a YFZ with just shocks.

I am not gonna say we have the quickest bike, but we do have all the hill records now in the states so guess that makes us the fastest right now, who knows whats coming out tomorrow though. Just because they have not run the hill yet doesnt mean they cant beat us. but here is our records as of 4-20-06 Glamis olds hill, 106.1 Dumont comp2 112.6 Fallon utah 122. Sandmountain Utah 104 Fallon is the fastest because its the smoothest long hill and we used nitrous there all the other hills is without nitrous. We have also changed to a two speed gear box and no longer have quite the top end we used to. Bike is a turbo nitrous hayabusa powered banshee. Here is a video clip of me racing a 900cc snowmobile powered banshee on nitrous, I gave him the smooth lane and had to let off at the bottom for the bumps and rocks, but when I hit the bottom of the hill after giving him a 5 bike head start you can see how hard it pulls.

we will be there easter weekend with our 4 stroke, try to make it if you wanna see a 4 stroke run over 100mph up your hill.
-
Onz, thanks, its been a long painfull road to get it where it is today, it should have run alot better at BW3 but the header was broken in half turbo didnt spool very well was way down on power the last three passes, in the mid to low 300's That and I brought the wrong tires, it didnt hook up very well.

sence it lives in my garage that would be me. But its not for sale, not yet anyways. I have two guys that have given me some pretty big offers but untill I have riden it to its full potential, I am not done with it. Prob have what I want out of it by end of 06, then it will be for sale.

Its not a banshee based bike, its a Fireball racing chassis with a turbo nitrous busa motor, Alky motor on nitrous, 45psi boost sprayin a 100 shot. The motor we run on the hills is a gas motor running 30psi boost sprayin a 35shot but IC affect nets it almost a 100hp. gas motor is 531hp maxed at 36psi alky motor is 614hp

Sorry one of the guys here at the shop spouted off without all the facts. Avinal is a sanctioned track, but the times where not durring an event. Second, the problem with the NHRA pass isnt a shute issue but a lic issue. The track officail came over with the staging lane worker and one of the guys didnt know what type of vehicle it was and said anything over 150mph has to have a shute, then another guy said its in a bike catagory so a chute isnt the problem but a current nhra pro lic is.
-
Fireball racings turbo nitrous hayabusa is the fastest quad on the planet right now. 100yrds, 2.87 at 116mph at avinal race way. Speed record on sand mountain nevada of 122mph speed record on olds hill Glamis of 106.1mph Speed record on comp 2 dumont 103.9mph 1/4 mile speed record of 6.91 at 187mph. The 1/4 mile record doesnt stand in NHHRA's rules yet because a second pass was not allowed due to lic and shute issues. Another words banned from a second pass to back it up. but the first pass was without nitrous, so it would be easy to back the 1/4 mile time.

If you remove the spring and the bike sits on the ground I would say the shock is to short for the application and bad choice to run, That would make a scetchy situation and a dangerous one.I would never say that a shock would work if the bike wouldnt sit on the bottoming cones and frame not lay on the ground, or pan as we call it. Shane, thank you for the Humble reply with more fact less personal opinion. Good job! PS, I think Leager is great, But not hands down the best, or I would have his front arms on my turbo busa.
-
I have two wheelers for mx, and a 2.9 mile outdoor national calibar mx track in my front yard so Why build a quad with 500hp to play on a mx track.
-
Now that we have gotten our first gear operational we have gone 106.1mph up olds, The 1100cc tripple only managed 89mph, so I think the extra100cc wont net him 20mph!
-
Leager, Roll, Fireball, Janssen racing, all build top quality products. If you are just running the +2 +1 setup, keep in mind the +1 in forward will transfer more weight to the rear of the bike . This shane cat thinks he is the suspension god, news flash, the frame wont drag because its the same pivot angles and pivot lengths, only the motion ratio is diff, there for the stock shocks will just be a bit soft on the longer A arm, if you frame hits the dirt its only because it hits the dirt before you put the new arms on. Granted the stock shocks are not ideal or even a good choice but will get you buy untill you can afford the right ones. Also you can use the YFZ shocks, and there adjustable comp will help out the soft issues, then you could put a stiffer spring on them and have the system complete and in good functioning order for the +2 arms. Shane, just because your buddies with Leager doesnt mean you know as much as leager, get off your high horse and open your closed mind. I trust my life to Fireball racing Products with what some call the worlds fastest quad, I go through the whoops on Olds hill at glamis at over 100mph with over 500 horsepower between my legs, And it just keeps suckin up those whoops. No one with big horsepower is running Leager arms! WHY? I run fox float shocks Fireball +3 +1 long travel YFZ arms on our Turbo Nitrous Hayabusa powered quad. I say you need to put an end to your false leading BS and talk facts, not your personal opinion!

keep in mind we went that fast without 1st gear, thats our take off gear, bike has a 78mph roll out at 12500rpm in first gear. so to leave in a gear that has a 122mph roll out is a bit tough. There is also a few 1000+cc tripples that have not broke 85mph. We have only made 4 passes up olds so give us some time to dial it in, see what kind of speed we get with 1st gear working and the right gearing.
-
still working out some issues, We had drive line issues huge, chains snappin, sprockets rippin teeth off, counter shafts snappin off, trannys exploding. But you dont make that kind of power without expecting a huge learning curve. We went to a solid 40mm grade 1 titanium axle, that solved the chain problems and wheel hop problems, but the ti axle is so ridgid that its taking its tole on the tranny. We have tossed the 6spd and now are just finishing up on a 4spd gear box that has gears that take the same space as the 6spd so most the gears are at least 30% larger, we have also lowered the rockwell on the gears so they will have more give but less wear life, but hopefully they wont sheer like the old gear box did. You say it takes alot to make a 4 stroke fast, well its true, but not just a 4 stroke, takes the two strokes alot to go fast too. but then again no two stroke has ever gone over 85mph up olds, we went 98mph without first gear, primary launch gear. Takes alot to make anything go that fast, not to mention the rider is 230lbs wtih gear. I would like to see a two stroke break 80 with a 200lb rider.

The turbo kit I run on the busa would be a problem on the 600cc engine, that gt35 turbo wouldnt spool for crap on that small of a motor. But you could use the same fuel system and fuel computer with smaller injectors, could put a small hybrid turbo together for your motor. With the mc1 ignition and our fuel system you would gain about 11hp per psi of boost. Stock bottom end would prob only hold up to 8psi boost. You would need some good turbo pistons, falicon crank and corrillo rods, heavy cylinder head studs and then you could boost 25+psi, that would get some attention

To be honest anything with less then 160ft of tq I dont see any real reason to go with the tandem rear shock setup. It does give a very nice linear spring rate in crease, but on a stock banshee frame or a any frame for that matter that you would have to add a second shock tab and replace the swinger to do it, Its just not worth it. Unless you have a high tq motor.
-
I think all you need to do is come to 4 stroke wars and watch it go in person. we went 98.2mph up the far right side of olds on t-day, 117mph on the far left of olds, andrews 588cid merlin motor powered long travel rail hit 71mph with a half parking lot run at the hill, guess it has to work to get to those speeds?
-
the reason the plastic is still in shambles is we are still working the bugs out of the bike, it has had major drive line and trany problems. Once we have it all sorted out we will put the painted plastics on it. Here is a pic of the front end
-
the rear drive system, Solid Titanium grade 1 axle, quad pinch wheel hubs with heavy 5 pinch Ti neckel sprocket drive.
