  1. you will need one hell of a long socket since the banshee shift shaft sticks out at least 2 and a half inches long you might be better off trying to use a couple old wrist pins if you have some laying around
  2. so basically the blaster piston use's a flatter piston crown which would in turn lower compression ratio
  3. hi guys what is the angle difference between the banshee and blaster pistons and why do they require a special dome, the cheeta cub cylinder kit i got set for a 4mm stroker , 5mm long rod kit, it came with 68mm blaster piston's, i have a set of 17cc big bore 68mm domes the domes are for banshee type pistons, what would i have to watch out for
  4. well here is some updated pictures after i got done powder coating this weekend and started assembly
  5. well hey atleast you now have a bumper with lifetime warranty lol
  6. more then likely since you said you didnt touch the cylinders you answered your own problem, when ever you re ring a piston and cylinder assembly you MUST hone the cylinder to deglaze it or else your new rings will not seat properly and thus end up in the situation you are in right now
  7. use a carb synchronizer, set the mercury levels at idle, then just start opening the throttle and set the individual throttle cables to equalize the mercury height
  8. if the carb you have now was set up for a pump and you are not running one you will have issues with running the float bowls dry because the needle and seat will not flow enough fuel, if you have a gravity feed carb like say a mikuni tm 38mm with say a 3.5 needle and seat size and you rub those carbs with a fuel pump you will have issues with flooding out because the pump will put out more pressure and flow then that needle and seat can hold closed
  9. snowmobile carbs use a very small neede and seat set up like on a mikuni tmx set up for a sped will use a size 1.5 needle and seat but for gravity feed your going to need a size 3.5 in my oppinion if the inlet port for the fuel line was angled down or up for gravity feed wouldnt make a difference it was probably done like that to route the fuel lines on the sled properly, th nipple on the bottom of the float bowls is for whats called a water trap on most sleds they use a chunk of 3/8ths clear hose roughly 2-3 inchs long with a plug in the end , what this does is since water is heavier then fuel it will get trapped in there rather then lay in the bowl, periodically you should drain them to make sure everything is ok
  10. why not try loc tight lolololol, no but seriously everyone i seen ice racing used c 826 cheng shin tires im not sure on the length but there a very hard compound tire
  11. everything is handbuilt on this bike i started with a frame and went from there heres the link to the photobucket account http://s237.photobucket.com/home/dartswinger/index if you cant log in just use dartswinger as a log in name and use software as a password
  12. well heres the rolling chassis i am just about done building its going to be a 421 cub 4mm stroker 5 mm long rod, cpi inframes, running on alky, 36mm mikuni hot dog slide carbs, custom air filter adapter , hoosier 69x10x10 rr 61x10x10 lr and 61x10x10 fronts, handbuilt a arms, rear swingarm, steering stem, nerf bar extension, foot pegs, front bumper/ wing, mod quad aluminum rear axle, or durablue x33 depending what i want to run, yfz brake caliper front and rear
  13. hi guys apparently when you run methanol you need to run a different type of 2 stroke oil i was wondering what brands and models are compatible with methanol, also for dirt oval racing what is a good recomended fuel/oil ratio, it will be ran in a 421 cub with a 4mm stroker crank 5mm long rods
  14. hi guys i have a quick question about the banshee electrical system, i am in the current state of building a dirt oval banshee, there are no rules for the open class and i am experimenting with a right front brake lock out solenoid, the solenoid is powered by 12 volt dc, now here's where it gets interesting in an attempt to hide the solenoid i have it mounted behind the radiator just infront of the fuel tank mount on the left side, i would like to be able to use the high low beam switch on the handle bars to run the relay and use the power wires going to the tail light to illuminate a small press in cat eye bulb on the rad shroud, do you guys think this will work
  15. mods are as follows mikuni tmx 36 mm flat slide carbs, hot rods 4mm stroker crank with 5mm long rods, supporting cheeta cub cylinder in 68mm bore, cpi inframes, elevation the bike will be running will be between 150 feet above sea level and 7-800 above
  16. hi guys what size domes do you guys recomenend for a 4mm stroker 421 cub engine running on alcohol ,for clay oval track racing thanks jonathan jans also anybody here have any rough estimates on horsepower output
  17. here is some of this race season highlights im running my white and green yz 426 powered yfz # 577 let me know what you think
  18. just take a piece of foam allstar racing sells some for the modifieds
  19. pictures to [email protected] im really interested what size domes
  20. possible burnt out clutch
  21. bump steer is non existing on the yfz 3/16ths of an inch at the most, i am working on an adjustble swingarm for the banshee so i can alter wheel base accordingly
  22. well started building my 535 oval bike for next year anyways heres the pics for now front suspension is about 80 % done just need to finish the a arms and sway bar system then i can work on the swingarm here is the arms i built for my yfz from this past winter my other bikes that green and white yfz is unbeatble up at a race track we run at not far from home and the worst it ever got was a 2nd place finish our local track runs an up tp 450 class where that bike runs in then an open class which is 451 and up 4 stroke and any 2 stroke, as it sits i am running the same times as the open class bikes so im sure this banshee i am building will just fly
  23. the reason for the electric solenoid is its very easy to hide under the plastics and no one will know about it, the valve i am looking to get is from wilwood , the valve is alwasy open and requires current being sent to it to shut down the right from brake, also using the head light system to activate it makes it totally hidden, also, using only the front left brake you can feather the brake lever to control your turn
  24. hi guys when you use an r6 shock on a banshee do you still keep the linkage or no
