  1. Wow. You guys don't use very aggressive studs. Around here if your running mild kutters you get laughed at. You need marcel Fournier mf1's 1.250" length. Installed with a slight backwards angle. And topped off with a nut inside to hold them. You will never have a pull out again.
  2. well i am open to offers on those parts add me on facebook Jonathan Jans. the reason i am selling it is its a purpose built oval bike and there is no more oval races around here. 1 track shut down the other doesnt allow quads anymore since they had a bad accident and soemthing with the insurance wouldnt allow it but add me on facebook and we can talk it out
  3. well the caliper bracket is specially made for the carrier which fits this swingarm as a whole assembly, i have a steering stem here too. where abouts are you located
  4. what are you interested in buying
  5. Hi there due to time restraints and the fact that there isnt any more oval races around here i am selling my banshee its a 96 framed bike with title has a 421 cub engine 4mm hot rods stroker crank, v force reeds, 36mm carbs, cpi inframe pipes, custom built aluminum rear swingarm and aluminum drag axle, custom built aluminum front control arms and steering stem, custom aluminum foot pegs, nerf bars, has a lock up clutch to put the power to the ground, yfz dual piston front brake calipers and master, dual piston rear caliper. the cylinders need replating though asking 5.000 obo
  6. Hey sorry for the 2 year late reply was havving issues getting this bike dialed in on methanol, ran extremely hard for 2 laps but after that i can run enough fuel to the bike , i would need to get sme sort of fuel injection system, i get the bike warmed up before the race we run a one lap befre the green to see how the track is then after 2 laps full throttle locked her up on 2 seperate occasions, both times the carbs, intake manifolds, cross over tube and intake ports on the reeds are frosted over, so i richened the bike for the 3rd time and still a no go just get too cold from all the alcohol going thru it but on a 3/8ths mile oval we were running a 15.7 second lap tie this bike flies but cant stay togethe on alky unless i build some sort of box around the carbs and insulate it to keep them warm, as far as th upper a arm design i built my 1st oval bike with that design it was an 04 yfz 450 frame with a yz 426 engine in it and its easer to adjust and faster you dont have to remove the main pivot bolt on the frame just loosen the 2 jam nuts on the inframe heim joints and the 2 outer bolts and adjust to my liking and retighten can literally do it in under 5 minutes at the track without any effort to suit the trac conditions, but this unit it for sale, there is no more oval rcing around here and its a purpose built bike if any one is terested let me know, the cub cylinder need replating though
  7. ok 75 percent of the races are 8 laps which are 3/8ths mile the other 25 percent are 15 lap races on a not quite quarter mile track lap times are in the 18 seconds for the 3/8ths and i havent timed the 1/4 mile track the straights on the 3/8ths mile track are around 400 feet i estimate, and the 1/4 mile around 250 max so at full throttle i figured with the banshee i would be running for about 4-6 seconds then back off full brakes then full throttle again, if there is any other questions that you need to know just ask i will asnwer and do exactly as you say for jetting wise, or if its possible can you send your phone number in a pm and i can describe over the phone
  8. yes i have a dual feed high flow fuel valve, no fuel pump i will be upgrading to it if you believe it is necessary, what size of needle and seats will i need if i am running a fuel pump i know if the needle and seats are to big they will not close properly and the engine will flood itself out, and thats a no on the billet bowls unless i can find some one who makes them for a mikuni tmx carb, i appreciate your help so far however
  9. heres a new run on a set of brand new br9es plugs, no idling after the run and no purging neither
  10. these plugs havent been used for purging at all, and im going to have to agree with j madd about being a bit lean i opened up the dump tubes to .120'' and ran it and the mid range definatly richened up and you can tell it had to clear out a little bit before running clean on top but after that about 150 feet into the run it started to ping a little so i guess im going to have to go richer yet on top to keep it from blowing up what size jetting are you guys normally running with the 421 cub engines, and you guys are all running at 32:1 oil mixture correct, what type of plugs to you recomend, i know i have my compression and squish a little on the loose side but i am running a 15 lap main event not just 300 feet runs thanks jonathan jans
  11. the dump tubes are .115''
  12. i dont know what the dump tubes are actually i will go to the shop and pull a carb off and measure for a sec but from what i understand if for example the dump tube measures .100 then there is no benefit from going to a main jet that is larger then the dump tube correct
  13. update, i found i was way to lean raised the needles and went to a .126 main here is some pictures of the plugs after a 300 foot full throttle run , no idling after, i am running pro race fuel's methanol mixed with klotz super techniplate mixed at 32:1
  14. thanks dajogejr, im going to be working on this banshee saturday and sunday again, the methanol is a brand new fresh 45 gallon drum that i order last week and only opened it up when i was finaly ready, the mikuni tmx carbs that i am running use 2 sliding floats that slide up and down on a rod in the float bowl and the guy who had them before remove 1 of the floats, i have the largest needle and seat set up in the carb as i can get a 3.5 i believe, now if i need a fuel pump i now i need to go to a smaller needle and seat but what size roughly
  15. i am running a stock gas cap with all the internals removed from it and all the passageways are drilled out to 3/16ths, the fuel valve was removed and i built a billet aluminum block with 5/16ths tubes where i clamp the fuel lines directly on so there is zero restriction, then instead of a fuel valve i used the motion pro single quick disconnects as a shut off, i tested before running and if you just let the lines run into a 1 galolon measuring jug the 5/16ths fuel lines run full stream the plug is a br9eix by ngk, the strap is a darker shade of galvanized then original and the ring around the base of the threads is perfectly clean and slightly wet looking, main jet is a .112'' or as the mikuni number said a 720, the pilot is a 30, im also running klotz super techniplate at 32:1, v force 3 reeds, port matched base, cpi inframes
  16. ran in to some problems today tuning the bike on methanol, i bought a set of mikuni tmx 36mm's , the bike starts and runs pretty good, a tad on the rich side on the low end but nothing too bad, runs real crisp at 1/4 - 1/2 throttle, but after that just before your about to shift it coughs and just about dies, if you let off the throttle for a split second and get back on the throttle pull pretty good again, the plugs are still brand new looking clean, just the cross over strap is turning the galvanized color a darker gray to the timming is right on at 4.5 degrees advanced, do you guys think its just too rich or possibly running low on fuel in the float bowl, if its running low on fuel i will have to add a fuel pump, but i guess i can try and pressurize the tank slightly to feed a bit more fuel to the engine and see if it goes away but maybe its just rich so i will see what you guys say
  17. here is some more updated pictures
  18. here is some more updated pictures
  19. what is the minimum amount of compression for alcohol, like i said i would rather play it a little on the safe side and work my way up then the other way around especially on a nicasil cylinder, if it was cast iron lined and i had to over bore wouldnt be such a big deal
  20. i havent had the bike running yet, by the weekend i should be able to drive it around i hope, but right now my main concerns are to have a bike that will also hold together for up to 15 laps also
  21. ok here is the results from the compression test 162 on the mag side and 160 on the pto side, squish is .075'',
  22. im going to do a compression test tonight and i will let you guys know, and also yes i will be running between sea level and 500 feet above
  23. hi every one what size domes do you all suggest for a 4mmstroker, 68mm bore cub running on methanol, using 36mm carbs, and cpi inframes, running 1/4 - 1/2 mile oval tracks right now i have 17cc domes, but i have all the facilities and equipment to open them up a bit if i need be
  24. im running itp rear 4x 156 pattern banshee wheels the old style banshee rear wheels, all you need to do to run them is sand a slight bit off the edge of the caliper
