As far as the needle clip goes, am I raising the needle or lowering it into the carb by placing it on the 4th clip ???? I have it set on the middle clip right now.

Leave the airbox lid OFF for better air flow. With NO port work. You should be close to 280-300 Main Jets, 27.5 pilot jet, needle middle clip, 1.5 to 2 turns on the air screw.

You should definitley be able to find a bike for $1k but you may have to put some work into to get it up to par. I find banshee's all the time for $1,000-$1500 all day long. When people need money they will sale there shit cheap.
