I just entered my post for this same topic. Don't listen to these other ass holes. My banshee does the same thing. I hit the throttle and the bike takes off at full speed and wont quit unless you squeeze the clutch in and swith gears and even then it burns out until the engine calms down. It's dangerous. it happens more often in damp weather so I think that has something to do with the carb?

I just bought a bansshee off of ebay. I have been riding it up and down the street with no problems and no where to ride. Soon I found out that there were miles of trails to ride near by so i started pushing my banshee. These last 2 weeks have been real rainy. So let me mention that I do not have an air box. i am assuming that maybe a little moisture has gotten into my carb and that has caused it to speed up and stick when i accelerate. Has anyone else had this problem? Now i am guessing this is what is happening after I have researched and asked questions. i know nothing about bikes or fixing them so yoru guess is as good as mine unless you know what you are talking about so if someone can help me before i go and trust the shop that is most likely going to make something up to rip me off. Please help.
