  1. Ive been doing a ton of reading on her about the 2-1 setup and it seems like almost everyone thats running it loves it. Ive became really frustrated trying to jet these stock carbs. It such a pain in the ass everytime having to pull the bowl and all this crap to get to the mains. I just realized that all the pwk carburetors have the plug in the bowl though that alows the main jet to be changed without removing the carburetor which is a big plus for me. All this TORS junk on my bike is also irritating. I figure I'll leave a bit of top end power on the table with a 2-1 but for racing down trails and hauling ass the 2-1 will probley be better for me. Either way im sure it will provide more top and bottom power than the shitty stocker carburetors right?
  2. I'll have to give him a call tomorrow and see what he has to say. Does anyone else have any experience with any combinations like this?
  3. Ok I just had my cylinders ported by Eric Gorr and im now looking to upgrade my carbs. I have 370 mains in my stock carbs and im still learning and fooling with this jetting stuff. I finally have the mains according to the plug chop. I have what most would call a Dune port and my bikes runs great now in the top but I know im leaving alot of the table with the stock carbs. Hell even still has the TORS lol. My question is would I be better off going with a 2-1 or a new set of 28mm or 33mm carbs? Im realling hating this pulling my damned bike apart to jet it. I ride mostly in Hollister which is here in Cali. Most hauling ass on trails, playing on the track, racing down long stretches of road and some rough terrain too. Keep thinking im going to go to the sand "Pismo" but havent made it yet. I'll probley make 1-2 trips a year to the sand most so what do you guys think. This is my current combo 2002 Banshee Fresh top end .040 over Eric Gorr ported mid range - top "dune port" Toomey T5s Stock carbs with huge mains lol Boyseen Dual Stage Reeds Stock head - Going to do a compression test to determine what size domes to buy with new Noss Head. Not sure what compression im hitting beings exhaust is slightly raisied.
  4. LOL FUCK ROCKET PIPES. I wouldnt order shit from these guys. Heard nothing but bad news about them. I love my T5's. And hey at least they were here in under 5 days and they still look great after over a year of hard riding. Thats quality. Not Bullshit.
  5. So move on up to a 360 main then. I'll try to pick up some 360 jets tomorrow and see how it goes. Is it possible that I need to up to a 30 pilot jet. How can I tell If my pilot is too small still. It sure runs better and idles better going from a 25 pilot to a 27.5 pilot. Also what indicates if I need to adjust my needles. Im pretty new to all this and even when reading the articles I know alot of guys here have to have some good input and experiences to offer. Right now Im running the needles that come with the toomey pipe kit and there on the 4th click down from the top I believe. Do i possibly need to richen up the needle also. Thanks alot guys.
  6. I have moved up to a 27.5 pilot because the bike wouldnt idle for crap with the stock 25's in it. Currently running 340 mains and the bike has a miss at high rpm. It seems to cut out once its reved up in the top end. I havent done a plug chop yet or any kind of testing on the carburetors. Im thinking if its cutting out though its probley not gettin enough fuel would this be right?
  7. I jetted up my carburetors but had to stop in the middle of the project. I now realize i didnt put the splash shield back in one of the carbs. This same carburetor also has gas running out of the hoses that come off from above the bowl. I think they are vent hoses. Fuel is leaking from there. Is this because of the splash shield or do i just have something probley in the needle and seat? Do I need that splash shield, and what is its purpose?
  8. Eric told me that i would probley have to jet up 3 to 4 sizes but i just wanted to get some info and see what all u guys are running with similar combos. So what assortment of jets should I purchase. I hope i can get these at my local dealer dont want to wait to order.
  9. Im currently running the Toomey jet kit which consits of a stock pilot and an aftermarket needle. The main jet is 280. I just recieved my cylinders back from Eric Gorr and he did what some would consider a dune port. Its a port job that enphasizes more on the mid and top end. I will be running stock carbs till i can afford new ones. What size mains would anyone suggest i run at sea level. Im still running the stock air box with a uni 2 stage filter and toomey t-5 pipes. The needle now is on the 4th clip down i believe. Anyone have any ideas where to start and maybe some tuning tip help. What assortment would you guys suggest I buy beings I know im going to have to toy with things some. Thanks alot
  10. Just got back from the swap meat and picked up a set of sand skate II tires on 10" wheels in great shape supposed to be off a banshee. LOL i think not they dont fit my banshee. Very close but no dice. I only payed 50 for both wheels and tires and i dont want to dismount them or buy more rims and such that sorta ruins the whole deal. Sooooo. I think im going to make me a template from my banshee wheels and redrill the rims i just bought with the paddles on them. Anyone ever done this? I dont see why it wont work i mean even if they were a hair off when riding on the sand i dont see how it could really matter anyways. What do u guys think?
  11. Only place I have heard anything good about G3 reeds is on everything2stroke and i question the people actually making the claims of huge power increases. Seems to me like a bunch of bs. Every performance shop ive talked to like Passion Racing, Patriot Racing, Eric Gorr says to run vforce and most say G3 are bullshit.....
  12. My dream is your computer crashes....................
  13. Ive read that too high of compression can kill topend power which would be sorta pointless when haing a mid range - top end port job done. I also would much rather be safe than sorry cause i dont want to run race gas just premium. As long as i stay under 160psi though i should be safe though right?
  14. Hello guys im just wondering what size domes people with similar combos are running and if DLNOSS could possibly recomend what size dome to run. My cylinders are currently being ported by Eric Gorr. He is doing a port job that will be geared more towards mid to top end. Some call it a dune port. The exhaust port will be raised its not a basic woods port. Im running at pretty much sea level most the time. Ive seen most people run 20cc domes with pump gas once the exhaust is raised. I know this is only an estimate and alot of things can vary just lookin for some starting advice though The bike is stock stroke with a fresh 30 over topend. Thanks alot guys. Rich
  15. I talked to Eric and he said that 30 mm are the perfect size so thats probley what I will go with. I'll be running the stockers for awhile at first though. Just wondering how much I will have to jet up. He said that usually I wont have to jet up or if i do it wont be much. Im only running 280 mains right now though with my T5s and I see other people with the same combo as me running 300-310s so i think i might try jetting up a bit more to see if it helps. My plugs right now are a tan color and my pistons had some black on them when i pulled it back apart. This top end only has about 4 hours on it so far. One thing I notice is it seems like my plugs arent burning completely. Maybe a bit more than 1/4 of the outer circle of the plug looks new as if there has been no burning taking place there. What does that mean? The strap seems tan though and no signs of heat in the cylinder or anything like its been running lean.... Will the V Force 3 reeds really help that much over my dual stage boyseen. I only ask because these reeds also only have about 4 hours on them. Are they going to be worth the 250.00 investment or should I think about adding those with bigger carbs later? I also wonder if with the new reeds and carbs will actually make a pretty noticable improvement. Anyone have similar experiences with add ons? Appreciate the input or even some examples of performance gains. Thanks again guys.
  16. Just sent off my cyilnders to Gorr Racing for a mid - top end port job. I currently am already running T-5 Toomeys and i know i will need to upgrade my carbs eventually. What size carb should I run for this combo and i would like something easy to dial in or even better yet somebody that can give me some tips if they have similar combos. Thanks alot guys 2002 Banshee Stock stroke with .030 bore Gorr Racing Mid to Top end Port Noss Machine Head 20cc Domes Toomey T-5 Pipes Boyseen Dual Stage Power Reeds I will run the stock carbs for awhile but hopefully not too long. Would I be better off buying a better reed set first like V force or carbs? Thanks again.
  17. Been trying to contact gorr racing they were close in september but now no answer at all and no email always takes quite along time. What kind of prices does his porting work go for anyways. Im looking to get the popular woods port everyone on here is always talking about. Thanks alot guys. Rich
  18. I had the exact same problem with my banshee once i changed to T5 pipes and jetted the carbs. The choke cross over tube was no connected....
  19. Come on guys im sure somebody has these mods. Im just wondering how worth while all of these mods will be together. I figure a good port would be killer but I want to save that till maybe next season and do the bottom end along with it. Its already gettin to prime riding season dont want to start a huge project now. Thanks alot
  20. Ive been reading alot of information on this site lately tring to decide what i want to do and figured why not ask. My current combo basically runs at the same speed in a drag race down the street as my friends stock yfz450 and i would really like to spank him lol. This is my combo 2002 Banshee Fresh .030 over top end maybe 3 hours on it Boyseen Dual Stage Reeds T5 pipes and silencers Jetted with Toomey jet kit. Stock pilots and 280 mains basically Open air box with a 2 element uni air cleaner Stock gearing everything else stock Ive thought of having porting done but would rather just stick with bolt on parts for know besides i can use all those parts later when i do have things ported and steped up a notch. Ive heard the V Force reeds are really great and so are the Noss Machine heads. Also i hear that advancing the timing seems to help alot. Are all these mods going to make a pretty noticable difference though. Im the kind of person to do them all at once. I want to run premium fuel though i could maybe swing running 50/50 if its really worth it but rather save the money gas is already enough for my truck! Just want to have a few more hp to spank the yfz haha. Thanks guys
