  1. Yep 2 of the 4 joints for the tie rods are left hand threaded. I got nuts for it at Copper State here locally. Now hopefully I can go riding this weekend and break in the new suspension! Now is there a good way for making sure I have the tires both dead on straight (tightening the tierods)? Or do I just need to judge it by eye and ride it out till its right? My first time doing this kinda work but I think I got it right!
  2. Im pretty sure it is beccause 2 out of the 4 joints have threads going the opposite direction.... im trying to find a place to get nut for this I took it to ace they said its left hand threaded which im sure is reverse and they dont carry nuts for those.
  3. omg two of them are reverse threaded arnt they!!???
  4. I wanted to add to this because they really need to get there act together and I want others to be aware of it. I ordered the elite pro suspension and a-arm package from them and it didnt take very long to get probably about 2 weeks but they sent me scattered parts from a totally different quad and I spent the day wondering why everything was off with measurements... So I sent everything but the elkas back and then they ended up sending it to the wrong address after I told 2 different employees to make sure its sent to the right place and gave them both my address. I got it but there were no joints with it so then they had to send me those as well and again it went to the wrong address. So im trying to put it together and im sure this isnt there fault but I cant get nuts onto 2 of the joints because the threads are jacked up. Ive been trying to put on my suspension for going on 2 months now and its really making me angry because my plans keep getting ruined.
  5. Well last month I ordered Shocks and A-arms from alba sports (elka elites and 2+ a-arms). They sent me the wrong parts first then I got it resolved but then I didnt receive any joints so I had to get those then now Im trying to put the stock nuts onto the new Joints so I can screw it into the tierod but i cant get the nuts on the joint!!! Something has to be messed up with the thread? I got 2 of them ready to go but I took the other 2 to ace hardware and we couldnt get any nuts to screw on. The stocks ones wont work either. BUT they do screw into the tie rod just fine... WTF? Can I take them somewere to get the thread treated or should I have them exchanged? I would prefer something local cause ive been waiting a month to get this done and its driving me crazy.
  6. very nice thats a cool setup. In fact I would buy that first link right now if they were chrome A-arms. I have a thing for the chrome so its a must
  7. http://www.rockymountainatv.com/productDet...29&navType=type Actually im thinking of this maybe now. Even though I really want the elka's! This has to be a pretty decent setup though?? I will be mainly just desert / dune riding.
  8. Ah thats cool thank you I just wanted to double check I already made the order for the parts thanks dude!
  9. oh and btw here is a picture I just took! See exactly what I mean ? That circle cover broke off that part and is just hangin on with the swingarm.
  10. thanks for the advice guys! I agree I should get the shocks at the same time here. Ive saved enough money to get some stuff done to her specially since the season is coming up I think the swing arm might be my last buy : ( You think the elkas and those a-arms are a good choice? Are works suspensions worth buying btw? Thanks again!
  11. lol correction (wrong quad model) http://www.rockymountainatv.com/productDet...04&navType=type
  12. http://www.rockymountainatv.com/productDet...02&navType=type Looks pretty nice to me My banshee just has motor work so far that ive done and Now im thinking about suspension and what not. Think these with my stock suspension would work ok? Eventually I would like to get the extended swing arm as well and maybe elka susp. but I dont have the money for those yet! Whats your opinion?! I ride in AZ so its all dirt and sand! That and dunes
  13. well Ok I found some rollers thats good. But isnt there that plastic part that covers it and keeps the chain in place?? Or is that just the stock way?
  14. yes thats that part What do they actually call it? Ya sucks but I gotta do it
  15. Sorry I had to jack someones picture I lost my cam and its bugging me so I circled in red the ring that cracked and wont slide back onto that exact part. its just hanging in there and nothing has gone wrong but im sure its not good... What is that exact ring called, where can I get a new one? I will probably switch out my sprocket and chain while im at it cause I want a little more top speed.
  16. I guess it could have been wrong but we did it quite a few times and I also know for a fact its a very popular dyno for allot of racers and bikes and what not. But ya who knows I dont own the dyno or anything so
  17. My 01 shee dynoed at 66hp and 49tq. I went from stock to Pipes, .02 bore (wiseco pistons), Noss head 21cc, Reeds, K&N's, and thats about it
  18. Hey david! The smell was a little different and it looked a little bluish. I asked a friend of mine thats pretty mechanical and he said there must have been a coolant leak or something inside the head and I think maybe one of the rings might have not been placed well (my fault) but im not sure. I ordered a new set from you and got a new gasket set on the way from wiseco and I think I might as well try with putting those in place again. Im sure it was a seal problem... Otherwise im clueless haha. I took the head off again and the jugs and pistons look great so who knows.
  19. Well I put in my new pistons and got a .02 bore done and a new noss machine head a while back (couple months). Today I went to put on these rubber rings that go inbetween the bottom and top of the head around the studs to keep coolant from leaking cause that was happening even though it ran great. So I put it all back together and everything was right. I filled the coolant back up and I went to start it and it took like 30 kicks then finally it started up and just pours smoke out the pipes and revs higher and higher out of nowhere. When I hit the gas a little it just tried to bog. The engine dies after like 15 seconds and im not sure what the problem is. Should i just take it all apart again and check something?
  20. dynos for cars usually use 4th gear. I think its 5th for us. I dynoed last month and he ran it in 5th.
  21. thats awesome thanks Ya i loved watching them run it. They were really surprised on the power it made. It was only 40 bucks too so im down to do it a couple more times haha.
  22. I havent messed with the jets since I bought the bike and im not sure if the previous ower has or not so im not sure what im running. So far my mods are - .02 bore, pipes, intake, reeds, noss head and thats about it. The bike runs great here in town (1k elevation). I want to take it up north now and its a big change in elevation. It will be around 7k. What would you suggest to switch to? I run 32:1 mix with yamalube just a fyi.
  23. lol thats funny i didnt even notice he put ported on there. One day i was sick of trying to get my bike started and i took it to a shop and got a .02bore with wiseco matching pistons. THen I got the Noss head and the rest of the mods I did when I got the bike. Thats all thats done to it for now. Also I forgot to get the AF ratio you just reminded me Im going back after I get some toomey's and advance the timing to see what it does for me. Then i will get that done for sure!
  24. exactly the same here. I got the 5 gallon cans and just put a pint in each and fill it up and done
  25. i dont really mess around with anything like that I just run yamalube 32:1 and thats probably all I will run
