i would just run the dirtbike out of gas, dump like a cup of one can into it, start it up, smell it. should be pretty easy to tell which is regular and which is 50/50.

damn man that sucks to hear. i do pretty much the same thing, but me and my brother always bring our dogs (pure bred pitbull and a 1/2 black lab 1/2 great dane) if someone was initially thinking about jacking our bikes, they change their mind rather quickly when they see those. the sad thing is, ive been hearing more and more about people getting their bikes ripped off... i just dont get it. if i ever saw someone trying to steal my banshee i would either let the pitbull go crazy or unload the 12 gauge. i hope you get your bikes back man

+1 on the DG nerfs... they dont fit for shit. Anyone have a moose stator? i bought mine for $260, it came in the day i was leaving for the dunes, so after work i stopped by put it together, DIDN'T START IT to make sure it worked, drove 6 hours, only to find that i had no spark. after fucking around with it for hours on end making sure that i didnt mess anything up, i take it to a shop, they throw a ricky stator on there and she fires right up. i try taking the moose back, and not only will they not refund my money, but they wont even send me a new one that works. the best part? our supplier ( I worked at a yamaha shop while all this was going on) told my boss that a bunch of packages got wet during shipping. still wouldnt do a damn thing. so, now i have a $260 boat anchor. sorry for the long rant

What SMALL trucks does a banshee fit in?

my banshee with a 6" extended swinger fits in my 2001 tacoma sr5. its a little rough gettin it in there if you're alone, but with two people, its easy cheese. tires touch the cab and tailgate. -
well, i just started a new job at the yamaha shop around here two weeks ago now, so its lookin like the trip to st anthonys might have to be postponed. if anyone is still thinking about heading there and doesnt have a for sure date yet, let me know and maybe we can meet up or somethin. i would like to go this month, but my buddy that is also going with us, just started a new job yesterday, so im hopin work doesnt get in the way. ima talk to everyone tonight and try to figure shit out. by the way, how packed are those campgrounds around this time of year? im thinkin the hotel might be the way to go, but we always camp when we go to the dunes anyway, so it wouldnt be too big of a deal either way. i need to order up so much crap for my shee as it is, i guess this is some incentive to hurry up and get it done.

alright, before i get bashed about not looking through the previous threads, i already did. my banshee is torn apart right now, and when it is done it should have over well over 100hp. i dont know what i should do to my tranny or what tranny to put in it to handle all that. my old man has a buddy that had a 700cc banshee with a $4000 tranny in it, and i will have approx $1000 at the very most to spend on my tranny. ive heard about back cutting gears and all that, but im curious as to what i should do to make this thing hold up. ive rebuilt quite a few banshee motors, but i havent dug into the bottom end at all. so any advice would be more than helpful.

for up here, i think you should get a 250r. it will do great in the dunes, better in the trails then a banshee, and will tear up anything on the track. you can find a pretty nice r around here for about 3k. a 400ex would also be a decent idea, throw a 440 kit on it and it would go alright. if you plan on riding around here a lot, i would go with either the 400ex or the 250r, but if you arent gonna ride around here much and plan on eventually going to the dunes more often, go with the banshee. i have had a banshee for 7 years now and we go to the dunes once or twice a year, but i wouldnt trade mine for anything. by the way, if you havent been to the dunes, you will be addicted after the first time. so, in conclusion, if you want to do a lot of riding up here, and a decent amount in the dunes, go with the 250R preferably, or a 400ex. if you plan on doing a little bit of riding up here, and have not yet been to the dunes, go with the banshee. i would stay away from a raptor, but thats just me.

ya, 10 paddle haulers wont be enough. im pushing 10 paddle normal haulers on my banshee now, and ive probably got around 50hp. go with the extremes, my buddy has 9 paddle extremes and they hook up almost as good as mine. with that setup you should be looking at atleast 12, i would probably go 14 tho.

i would get ur crank welded. bein ported and runnin 19's would put you pretty close to 150. if ur doin dunes only, you should get the swinger extended +4.

what kind of riding are you wanting to do? for $1500, you should get: toomey t-5's or rockets (around $600) mild port job (around $350) noss cool head ($250) K&N filter pods (i think theyre around $70 for both) v-force reeds ($250) edit - you could also probably pick up a pair of used pipes for much much cheaper, and use that money for powder coating the frame or you could use it to get some 28mm carbs for like $300. also, the first thing i would change is the thumb throttle to a twist.

haha i think someone needs a beer... chill out man damn. i dont smoke, but i do chew, and while i know if i keep chewin i will end up with cancer, we all gotta die sometime. i think its pretty funny to see someone flip out so much about somethin that is not their decision. surely you knew which people smoked when you invited them? and like everyone else said, if you think smoking is such a bad deal, how many times have you ridden a quad, dirt bike or street bike without a helmet? how many times have you been to a fast food place? you ever drink and drive? how about not wearing your seat belt.. the list goes on and im sure youre guilty of more then one of those, all of which are more dangerous than smoking, except the fast food. so basically, next time, before you get your panties all in a bunch, take a deep breath and try looking at the bigger picture.... also, i understand that ur getting pissed becuase they were being inconsiderate with the whole second hand smoke thing, and while i dont like that shit either, you can either ask them to not do it by you, ask them to put it out, ask them to leave or just get away. didnt think it was the most complicated thing ever, but apparently it is

im in, i just gotta figure out the exact date were headin down. my guess would be anytime from the second week of june to the last week in june. ill let ya know once we get everything figured out

bad ass, thanks for all the info guys. just talked to my brother and best friend tonight (the two that will be going with me) and apparently theyre not sure when were gonna go, originally we had planned for the second week of june, but they will be moving back from montana the first week, so theyre not completely sure if they want to up and leave that early, becuase they will be moving all their shit in and trying to find jobs, but im really hopin it all works out. it sounds so perfect, im ready to head out lol, but ill post some pics up definitely if we end up goin.

fmf fattys are designed to be a top end pipe, but they are actually a pretty good all around pipe. what kind of riding do you do?

does anybody remember seeing the dirtwheels when the 400ex first came out? they claimed it was faster then the banshee... then 5 years down the road (around the time the 450 came out) they said that the speed between the two wasnt even close becuase the banshee was so much faster. just goes to show ya its all about who is sending them money and not the actual bike. dirtwheels is garbage
