I was happy to be able to move my toes and hands after I hit the asphault, but I'd like to have told those guys talking about broken collar bones, ribs, and even someone dying before to "SHUT UP,YOU'RE NOT HELPING!" :: LOL! :yelrotflmao: This was the first real wreck I've ever been in.I've never flipped over backwards, sideways,or anything like that.I'm a very cautious rider.Start out with a bang I guess.LOL!

Might sound like I'm preaching but the chest protector done it's job. I know my collar bone would have broke if I didn't have it on. I remember when I hit.I remember hitting the ground. I don't drink but the e.r. gave me some pain pills and my doctor gave me some muscle relaxers.I'll be ok,and you guys might not be believers, but I know I was being looked out for.I'm not preaching or trying to shove religion down your throat. Just how I feel.I know I could have been paralyzed or even killed. Like my name says(race-a-holic),I'll ride again. Maybe not on asphault anytime soon though.

Yeah, reeds might gain you a hp or 2.Head won't make a huge difference. Now a combination of these and a good port job will do wonders.
-
My right arm hurts when I use it.My back is pretty sore. My left shoulder/collar bone took the worst hit.Steel and bone don't mix. Thank goodness the chest protector took some of the hit."great investment" I can't say that enough.

I'm going to be ok,but I feel like a baseball team took bats to me. :baseball_bat:

Well, quads and bikes are banned for now. I had a pretty bad wreck today. Before time trials started I had made several easy launches to see how it would act.Everything seemed fine.Right before the trials started, bigboybanshee and I was going to make some hard launches.I was in the left lane.As soon as I dumped the clutch,it made a very sharp turn to the right. The banshee hit the rail guarding the tree.I went over the bars and hit the railing with my shoulder and collar bone and then I hit the track.I thank God I had on my chest protector.I'm really sore and bruised some.Nothing is broke though. I'm glad Travis is fine too.My wife and little girl saw me crash.Travis' wife saw it too.I'm glad though that I crashed when I did and not run out in front of Travis. It could have been "ALOT" worse.

I've only seen it on one quadzilla. He was on alcohol and had a small extra tank with race gas. That he would use with the alcohol once he hit the nitrous.I think he was using an NX system.Although the alcohol was his' main fuel,I think the nitrous needs to be mixed with gas.Not sure why though. I've heard that nitrous and alcohol don't like one another. That's just what I "heard" though.I'm sure there's alot of people that know more about it.

place to buy a shift kit?

I agree. -
People purge it differently.I personally drain the tank. Put regular gas mixed with oil in the tank.Run it for about 3 minutes. I've heard that reading an alcohol plug is difficult. Some can do it by just listening to it. Wish I could. They listen for if it's cleaning out on topend or loading up I think. Put the biggest jet you have in it to start with.Better to be on the safe side.

I use BR9EG NGK competition plugs(red box). For the regular NGK(yellow box),I'd use a BR9ES. Setting the plugs at .018 will be a good idea. For alcohol,I advanced my timing to +8. I also have a dyna ignition. Who did you get your jets from? What size are they? Do you have the extra power jets/dial-a-jets for extra fuel? Make sure to purge the bike everyday after you ride it.

I've had several dealings with him involving banshee parts.Bought some tires from him.Traded a marvin shaw for some rims and cash. All the parts I got from him were in "excellent" condition.Great guy to do business with. I give him a A+++++++++. Thanks Travis.

a dog maybe a mans best friend...
race-a-holic replied to tithead's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Sorry for your lose.My mom and dad are still living, but I saw some of what my mom went through when my granny died. She took it rough.I hated seeing my mom like that.My granny was a great lady.Wish could have lived long enough to have met my daughter and spent some time with her. -
My brother as well as some of our friends has them. You'll probably lose. If his' porting and jetting is right,he'll probably beat ya pretty bad. I use to always get smoked by them. That has now changed. They won't even hardly race me any more.LOL! Get a good port job,and you'll more than likely be the one doing the smoking.

Michael is going to try and find a base gasket so he can make it this weekend. Not sure if I can get off work saturday or not yet.I also have to see if Travis can make it saturday. If not,I'll be going to george's sunday. That's alot of "if's".
-
George Ray's doesn't give timeslips. They just call out the times. We may be going to Newport this saturday night. They do give out timeslips.I'd like to see how bad I can beat your cub.LOL! J/K. Talking about traction. You may hook up at george's.My friend Michael usually blows the tires off but he hooks up pretty good there. He uses 15/41 gearing(stock transmission). I use 18/38 (1-5 Tyson over-ride).May actually need taller gearing. Not sure though. My rims were actually spinning inside the slicks.I just drilled the wheels and installed screws to "hopefully" stop this like the drag car guys do.If everything works out,I'm expecting at least a 7.00 e.t. 6's should be in the near future.

Whether it's a twist or a thumb throttle, they all can stick.I prefer the thumb throttle though.I've had the throttle linkage give me trouble.Look underneath the tank at the throttle cable.See the section where the 2 cables from the carbs slide into a larger piece of the throttle cable.Make sure the cables are in nice and tight and tape it up to where they won't slip out.Lesson learned. Also,if you ever do any work to the top of the carbs like adjusting the needle clip, make sure the slides are put in correctly. With the filter removed look inside the carbs and make sure the slides are completely closed. You'll know it if you see it.

I'm using the weights and using the lighter springs.I love it.The clutch lever is sooooo much easier to pull.I'm using the clutchs I bought from F.A.S.T.Racing.This is a very good set-up.

I don't think we need an age limit. There grown adults that are more childish than some 13 year olds.
-
I'm not sure but please let me know when you find out.Might call direct drive.I'm sure any of the builders on here could help.
-
Glad you found the humor in what I said.I actually remember when I bought everyone of my quads.I've enjoyed everyone of them.Had some good times.

Am I the only one crying after hearing such a great story of a boy and his' banshee?LOL! :baseball_wibble: :yelrotflmao: Cool story.

The first banshee I rode was almost completely stock. I thought I was on a rocket. How things change.
