  1. Go right to the man. Dennis Packard is a great guy to talk to...and he is in this sport. Many people get turned off by Lectrons because they don't have the right needle. They will NEVER run right without the right needle and without it running correctly. I love mine...pure and simple. http://www.packardracing.com/
  2. My pipes are on the way. I'll include pics once they're on my bike...
  3. what else? Did he sell you the crank, do the cylinders, sell you the pistons, etc., and was he well aware of the whole package that was being put together and were all parts purchased together to be used in the same package...or...were they purchased separate, piece mail, etc.
  4. For the detail. Did he know they were going to be used on a 4 mil, etc. The whole story...not just what you did to fix it or remedy it. There's always two sides to every story.... A lot of times people buy stuff that is supposedly ready to run, yet it came off a completely different setup. I find it hard to believe that Rudy just completely ported a set of cylinders incorrectly. So there's more to it. That's all I'm saying. In the end....if your new customer is happy, that's all that matters. But I'd caution you by saying Port Magic didn't hold up to their end of the bargain if you are not 100% certain of ALL of the details and are not willing to share all of the details.
  5. And... Have you contacted him for an explanation?
  6. This pipe was originally setup for a turbo. The Moto Fast/Dyno Port was the only pipe available prior to this. Call Matt Shearer yourself and ask him your best bet. It's possible he'll build you a hand coned pipe that tucks in better....
  7. Or Chariot Heads....
  8. Ok...well, with that being said... When you richen up the jetting, you're putting more gas/oil in the cylinder. An old school trick to check ring wear is to do a compression test on a motor and then add a few drops of oil to each cylinder, and check it again. What the oil does is help worn rings seal better. (Obviously, once the motor fires and runs for a few it'll burn that extra oil off) So...based on what you said about the blow by, it is probably either time for a set of rings and a hone or a bore and new pistons/rings. Here's my honest opinion, if it has blow by...and it's 14 years old, bore them fresh and put a new top end on. At 14 years old, it doesn't owe you anything. Even if the rings are sticking to the pistons a little due to carbon/wear, etc. You have to take the top end off to clean, measure and check things. At that point...why not freshen it up?
  9. If your motor starts easily warm or cold (obviously it must be jetted right as well) and runs strong for you, don't touch it. You're about perfect for a stock motor and your elevation.
  10. They're called, worm holes, boost ports, Boysen Ports or finger intakes...they probably have 10 other names as well. More importantly than that...look on the exhaust side. They are triple exhaust. In other words, the main, center, large exhaust port and two smaller ports, one on each side. That's what it means to have triple exhaust ports. They're both just a way to get more fuel/air in and more out.
  11. Well said...beat me to it. Cranking compression can drop 8 to 12 PSI roughly every 1000 feet of elevation above sea level.
  12. My advice would be to run them as cast, except cleaning up the flaws. If you try to get more power out of them not only should you buy a cub, but...you'll have a cub type power delivery which is exactly what you don't want from a set of these. I wish I had a duner...lol.
  13. Sorry bout that...didn't mean to come off as gruff...LOL. Just didn't know if you knew the dealio with the cylinders. All good...
  14. Why? To the naked eye...you'll barely be able to tell the difference between it and a cub, unless you've never seen the porting on a cub before. The port timings are different by a couple mm's. That's hard to see by the naked eye...
  15. My 2006 and now 2008 Dodge Ram 1500s with 5.7 Hemis have been problem free. The 06 I had had the tailgate latch broke, fixed under warranty...and there's a recall on my wiper arm for my 2008. Best truck I've ever owned, and the pathetic part is I hate Dodge and I'm a Ford Truck guy. When dollars came down to it, Dodge gave me more bang for the buck. I'm buying out my 2008 from the lease. You can't go wrong with the lifetime power train warranty and all that it covers..if you're the original owner, of course. Runs like a champ and looks tight fo sho.... I do like the new Ford trucks, though. As said...every truck has it's good and bads...
  16. As far as Andy has told me, they are only out for a 4 mil stroker. A cylinder for a stock crank is in the works, though.
  17. Top 4 pics are cub pipes, the last two are Brad's 20m DMX Pipes. Them are some big ass cans...LOL.
  18. Ok, Gary is fine with me posting these. Obviously, these are not done. Also, when I get mine in the next week or so I will post them up on my bike as well. I'm excited to try something new on my bike....can't wait to get them in my hands.
  19. C'mon down to Kentucky for Show me the money and you can see the business end of them in person Joe...LOL. I would like to get a couple passes in at WMSD before I head down, but I'm just lazy in getting mine running again. I PM'd Gary if it's ok to post unfinished pics. I can tell you mine will be OOF out each side for starters...with stingers not silencers.
  20. I have pictures of your 20 mil DMX pipes and your cub pipes before they are done Brad (no stinger tubes yet). If it's ok with you and Gary, I can post them. But since they're not finished sets...I feel it's only fair to ask the owner and the pipe builder.
  21. Right on Andy...obviously those that want a pure drag motor should bark up the cub tree. It's just too bad you can't throw it in a 4 stroke chassis and have the best of everything, chassis, suspension and motor. Thanks for the update. Setup conservatively like you said, it should last you a long time! Nikasil is some tough stuff for sure.
  22. So of course the question is how did it compare to a cub in racing?
  23. 68 x 58 and soon the 68 x 54. No other plans from what I was told by Andy right now. Personally, I think once you get into 7 and 10 mil territory you should probably be at a cub, anywho... I'm sure you could port it out and run cut domes to go bigger...but for all that work why?
  24. It's the pivot point AND the location of the hole for the cable end.
