  1. i have searched but only found one pic of the full bore blue plastics on a quad. its a darker blue and only saw 1 pic on here of one set up for street i think. it was in the post your shees thread. anyone have pics of a quad preferably a banshee with the full bore blue? i think it might look good on my black chrome frame.
  2. im in south jersey and theres no dunes but i guess it would be simillar setup. wide open pits hills sand, dirt, some trails although i wont do any tight stuff. of course drag racing but not at competition level just a play bike i guess that i can still turn with lol but kick all 4 strokes asses haha. im 6ft 240 and i like climbing hills and not always having to be at high rpms to get it rollin so i need some good midrange and torque to pull my big ass haha. thanks guys and once i get my plans on my build set ill start building and take pics.
  3. thanks capn. anyone else have any input?
  4. great video! they all fly but man that last twister wow!
  5. if your not running an air box maybe you got some water/snow in your motor?
  6. to those who have built a motor, piece by piece, trans and all... how long should it take? if i get 421 cub or vitos cylinders for a 4 mil... theres no machining needed just instal stroker, bolt on cylinders, and order head and domes for it? also how is the reliability on aftermarket cylinders versus just a stock cylinder stroker? sorry if its alot to answer but im new to the banshee world and want to build my shee piece by piece from the frame up like i did with my tecate. btw i have learned a ton already on this site and have been eyeing up the sponsors pages for parts.
  7. just a thought.. wouldnt it be easier to just sell your frame and buy an a arm frame?
  8. i can vouch for nyucks frame because i just saw it and bought one identical.pics dont do the black chrome justice. good luck getting it all back together.
  9. thats a good point. im buiing from the frame up and plan on going with a dune ported 421 i think.
  10. i painted my 636 frame yrs ago with dupont engine paint with ceramic in it. looked great and held up so good that i got sideswiped by a taxi and it didnt even crack. what i did was scuff the frame with sandpaper a coat of primer and then 3 coats paint.
  11. anyone?
  12. also im 6ft 240 not fat. i was thinking a plus 4 but because of my weight can i get good traction with plus 6? non paddled bike.
  13. what are the benefits of an arched swingarm? are they mainly just for a drag setup? id like to hear some pros and cons.
  14. praying for a speedy recovery.
  15. heres my current streetbike. 07 zx6r. too many mods to list.
  16. heres a pic of my old tecate that sadly got stolen. tried to post a pic of my streetbike but i got an error message.
  17. so i just bought a frame from member nyuck on here and ill be starting my first piece by piece banshee build. im not working right now so it might take yr or whatever. i built an 88 tecate 4 the same way and had as much fun building it as i did riding it.it did over 100mph! this should be much easier since parts are more available. im a 2 stroke guy and have always wanted a banshee. big thanks to nyuck for the frame!
  18. i think the shredders i used to have were a heavy ply.never any probs and great traction in everything.even wheelied on icy snow covered streets.
  19. thanks for all the info guys im actually considering buying a used one or building one frome the frame up how i want powdercoat and all like i did with my tecate.thinking of buying the yfz450 after watching sme videos.seems to handle really well so i think ill get a 450 for snow, trails,mx,etc.ill have that to play with while i build or tear down and rebuild a used banshee.dont worry guys no matter how good the 450 is i need a screaming two stroke for the pits i ride.but having another quad to ride in the meantime wont make me rush or halfass building the banshee.thinking either all polished chrome and all or sleeper.once again thanks guys
  20. one more thing.damn i cant shut up tonight.i want something i can ride now.maybe buy spare parts and powdercoat or chrome while i still have something to ride.my tecate was stolen on valentines day and of all days to break my heart.sorry guys but i had over 6gs in it and a whole lot of hard work, ebaying and searchin for parts.people who steal quads should meet my 4 dogs.
  21. thanks guys ok two more questions.how much for an after market frame?and are they worth it for the handling and weight improvements?ok 3 questions.how much should it cost to build a bad ass shee from a frame up or from a rolling chassis?i have always loved the sound of a banshee i am a 2stroke addict and im glad they still make banshees.you guys here are much more informative than any other forum so i dunno if anyone gives you credit or lets you know so im gonna ,you guys seem way more knowledgeable and much more helpful than people on other forums.and here i dont have to hear everyone say buy a 450.my 88 tecate4 only had bigger carbs fmf fatty reeds and port and i smoked i mean smoked 450s.no offense but most banshees wouldnt race me especially after seeeing me shut down in 4th after embarrasing 4 strokes like 400 exs z400s raptors, never raced a ds,and a few 450s although were new at the time so not tooo modded.not saying their werent banshees that could beat me but i never raced them.there was a guy who had a shee with alot of motor work and nitrous near me i always wanted to race just to see how bad hed kill me.when he raced other worked shees hed only be a lil ahead racing with one hand lookin all relaxed, then hed hit the nos and wave goodbye.since then i knew after my tecate was done i wanted a banshee.ok one last thing sorry im a lil buzzed pool league night.porting if someone could explain exactly how they port differently for mx,trails, drag, etc and how that works.i ride in nj mostly wide open pits and hills and some trails but also would like to start hitting mx tracks occasionally.if i port for mx,or get a low to mid pipe, will i still be able to hang in drags especially since there are starting to be more and more modded 450s around?im sorry fo all the questions but im new to banshees and excited about them.im 30 yrs old and when i ride, fix or think about quads i feel young again.final word im seeing way too many young boys not wearing gear or even helmets.guys gear up at least wear helmets.p.s. rockets or cpis?
  22. oh if any of you guys havent seen a tecate before since they are pretty rare attached is a poor quality cameraphone pic from last yr when it was almost done wait how do you attach pics i cant figure it out?
  23. i definitely dont wanna buy something done.i wanna do it my way my parts colors etc.
  24. new on here considering either the new 05 le black or buying a used one.either way im going to throw some money into it.im not new to this.my last quad was an 88 tecate4 i built from the frame.im used to and love the two stroke power.i never lost to any quad especially a 4 stroke.so anyway the only thing i think i could compare to would be a built banshee.unfortunately it got stolen.so id appreciate some input,do i save money buy used hope its not a timebomb and mod it out or should i spend the extra money on new one and mod it with the peace of mind that its new?either way its gonna be built up to embarras all the new 450s.thanks in advance for the help guys.
