  2. Dude, you should have no problem on the pavement, gravel I haven't tried. I raced a 450R and a YZF450 this weekend. I raced, they ate my dust! 5 straight before they finally shut up and quit making excuses! The best part was that my best friend (the 450R) handed me my ass the weekend before while my bike was bone stock, I couldn't hang through 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, but not anymore! He might get you off the line, but the race should be over by 3rd gear!
  3. Get a second job is all I can say! I was the owner of a rare bone stock shee until last Friday. Believe me, It's worth every penny! I enjoyed it, don't get me wrong, but I didn't know any better. I bit the bullet and spent a little money on her (pipes, milled head, & jets) and that bitch aint even the same bike! My best friend has a 450R and handed me my ass a few times before. This weekend I got him and his YZF450 friend to line up with me after listening to there shit all day. I just smiled as I bulled a 3rd gear wheelie past them, and then it was ... They tried to make excuses, but after the 5th straight whippin I handed them, they finally gave me my props. Anyway, spend the dough dude, the look on your 450 ridin buddies faces will be more than worth every single penny! And don't worry about your wife sending you to sleep on the couch, cause after you ride that new modded sheefor the 1st time, you'll want to sleep in the garage with it!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Ok, let me see if I can answer everyones questions. No not 310 in one and 330 in other carb I have 290's in them and still have extra 310's and 330's to try out. I've got 2 screws in my air filter to keep it in place, waiting for my K&N proflow to get here next week. *Does everyone agree that I should be ok if the tip of the plug is brown, but no ring on the white element in the plug? *I was gonna switch to 40:1 mixing to see how she acts, good idea or what? *as long as I have no hesitation or bog from 1/4 to 3/4 throttle, I don't need to adjust my needle clip position right?
  5. I rejetted today. Runs GREAT! Idles good, starts easy. I did a plug chop at WOT. No chocolate ring at all. The tip of the plug looks kinda brownish, but the white element still looks new with no ring. I think I'm still lean, but do I go up a jet size or play with my needle clip position? I was running rich before rejet, so I didn't bother changing clip position. i still have 310 & 330 mains(it's all they had)! FYI--stock needle, stock pilot, 290 main on 2001 Shee, T-5's, milled head, no airbox lid, stock filter, sea level, 60 degrees, 93 octane @ 50:1 premix. Hope this is enough info.
  6. Tats, how bout the nerfs and timing plate, still for sale? Got any pics?
  7. Led, that storm trooper rocks! I gotta send that to some friends! I laugh my ass off every single time I see it, never gets old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Hell yeah, keep them coming!!!!!!!!!! I've been using them all week
  9. A farmer decides he needs a new rooster on the farm cause the old one he has just can't keep up with the yard full of hens. He goes to town the next morning, purchases a strong young rooster and brings him home. He lets the young rooster out to strut his stuff around the farm. Youngster struts right up to the old rooster and says "ok old man, things are gonna change around here. I'm the new stud in town, your time has passed, now ALL the hens on this farm are mine!" Old rooster says "Ok youngster, I can respect that, I am past my prime and can't keep up with them all. But just let me keep those 2 fat old hens over yonder, you don't want them anyway." Yougster replies, "I guess you didn't hear me old man, they are ALL mine now!" Old rooster, "OK I'll tell you what, we will settle it with a race, once around the house, winner takes all." The youngster puffs up his chest and says "you really want to race me, I'll even give you a head start!" With this said, the old rooster takes off like a bat outa hell. Halfway around the house the youngster has already run him down and is right on his ass! He is on his heels pecking at his tailfeathers as they streak past the front porch. Sitting on the porch in a rocking chair, the farmer sees this, grabs his shotgun, puts a bead on them, and POW..... Blows the young rooster to pieces! He sits back down, looks at his old hound dog with a pissed expression, and says "Damn it, that's the 3rd queer rooster I bought this month!!!!!!
  10. Close to sea level, bone stock bike, no porting. Around 60 degrees----I hope!
  11. Putting my fresh .030 over milled head back on my Shee, anyone got the torque specs? Thanks
  12. I ordered a whole bunch of parts Monday, but my jets, filter, and timing key didn't get here today, some kinda screw up at Vito's, so it will be next week. I gotta ride this weekend so I'm gonna try to get rolling. No local shop carries the pilots, but did find one with a handful of main jets. The only parts I have right now are my reeds (TRD), my T-5's, and got my head milled .030 today. I want to at least get my pipes on. Do you think I can run stock pilots and a slight main jet increase with my pipes and no lid on my stock air box? I didn't think the head work would require a jet change. What about pipes, no lid, and reeds? Maybe stock pilots and around 280 mains? Any ideas would be a huge help.
  13. Guys, I keep hearing about carb boring but don't know anything about it. Is it a fairly simple mod? I have to tear my shee down tomorrow so I can do some mods-pipes, jets, head, reeds, timing, etc... Figured if it is simple enough, and cheap enough, I may as well give it a shot if it will give me a few extra horses! Anyone got a step-by-step for me, that is if it's really worth it?
  14. Do you run 93 octane or race fuel? If you do run 93, have you ever tried race fuel? Notice a big difference?
  15. I am taking my stock 2001 head to be milled tomorrow and wondered if anyone had any last minute tips? I plan to do .030, Is this going to add to much compression for 93 octane? Should I worry about the extra comp. making my rings go out faster? They are supposed to be the original rings and pistons according to the guy I bought it from. Thanks guys.........
  16. Yeah I should have listened to Scott to begin with. I couldn't get in touch with the guys at carbparts.com and had to order my timing key from Vito's, so I figured I'd just go ahead and order it all at the same place. Thats what I get for rushing. I believe it was a K&N kit or either Vito's own kit-whichever one is $50. Anyone used either of these or should I just stay with my stock needles? What is my stock pilot size? I think he(Vito) told me 32.5, sound right?????????
  17. Not a bad idea, I'll try it, hell Imay even try a 15T while I'm at it, just to see the look on my best friends face as I smoke his $7000 450R, what a waste!!!!!!!
  18. Thanks guys, guess I'll just hold on to that 13T for the mud runs and what not this summer. As far as the race gas, is milling my head .030 going to give me that much more compression? Would it not be safe to run 93 for just kickin around or race fuel ONLY from now on? Should I worry about my original rings and pistons holding up with the upped compression?
  19. The reason for the 13T front is because I run 22 inch Dirt Devils. Do you still think the 13T is to low? I just wanted a little more bottom, but not at the expense of my top end and bragging rights! Are you saying I should run race gas all the time or just to have more fun? The only race gas near me is either 109 or 111 octane, to high????
  20. This week all my parts should finally be in. I've had my pipes in my livingroon floor for about 2 weeks now just iching to to slap them on. But I decided to wait till I got everything so I only have to rejet once. New parts include T-5's and silencers, TDR reeds and cages, Pro-Flow air filter set up w/o the lid, 4 degree timing key, .030 milled head, 13T front sprocket, jet kit, and lightened flywheel(still in the works). Honestly, how much of a difference should I really expect? I've only ridden stock so far as this is my first Shee, and don't want to expect to much and end up dissappointed in her. And the shit talkin to all my 4 stroke ridin buddies has already begun (just couldn't wait)!! I got a modded Predator, a Rapter, and a stock 450R callin me out! Come on guys, boost me up!!!
  21. Doing my jets for the 1st time. My mods will be T-5's, TDR reeds and ported cages, pro flow filter set up w/o the lid, 4* timing key, .030 milled head, and lightened fly. The guy I ordered from says I need a 30 pilot, and 290 or 320 mains. I've talked to people with the same set up running 280's and a 27.5 pilot. when I asked if I should get a 27.5 just to be sure, he said "NO". I took his word for it because he is supposed to be an expert, but now am having second thoughts. I didn't really think there was an exact science to rejetting. I thought you pretty much just had to experiment with your machine to see what worked the best. Can he really be that good, or did he just want me to buy that $50 kit from him? Oh, he also said I couldn't use my stock needles. Anyone know why? Oh yeah, and I'm at about sea level and run 93 octane. Thanks!
  22. looks like we're in the same boat. I've got pipes, reeds, filter, & jetswaiting to be installed, and plan to mill my head. Figured I'd do it all at once so I don't have to keep rejetting with each mod. I am getting a lightened flywheel, have heard it's an awsome mod and pretty cheap. There are a couple people on here that do it for under $100 and swear it's the shit. Should have everything done in the next 2 weeks. I'll let you know how it turns out....
  23. New Shee owner in SC. I've got to try some dunes and see what all the hype is about? Anybody know of any in my area? I'm sure there are some in Fl, but what about Ga and SC? Only dunes I've ever seen are at the beach, and god knows they shit a brick if you try to ride near the beach..... Guess it's hard to replace all the sand they spent so much money getting shipped to the country!!!!!

  25. I posted in another area but made a type-o, so figured I try again here. Anyone TDR epoxy reeds? Was gonna buy Delta 2's but found a fairly new set of TDR's and cages pretty cheap, but never heard of them. Are reeds somthing that you would want to buy used or should I stick with new Delta 2's?
