  1. About any packing will work, just make sure it's the right length for the mufflers. Some of them will have to be cut down, but that's easy to do. It usually takes one package per muffler.
  2. When the gas is coming out the over flow tubes, it makes it run very rich. It's not that hard to fix the problem, as I've had to do it before. It's going to keep running like shit, and foul plugs, as long as you leave it the way it is.
  3. If they are stock carbs, replace the needles, and seats above the floats on both carbs. Make sure the float height is adjusted properly, and your problem should be solved.
  4. Once it quits smoking so damned badly, get some fresh packing, and re-pack both of your silencers. The packing is, or will be completely drowned in oil, and that's not really good.
  5. Send a PM to Fastoys. It may take him a few days to answer, but he'll get around to it.
  6. Wait until you get the $$ to put the 4mil together, with the porting for it, before using the 34's. I'm using a set of 34mm Mikuni's on a stock cylinder 4mil, with inframe CPI's, along some other mods, and the carbs are more than adequate for my set up. They would be over kill on your set up, and it would probably run worse than it does on the stockers.
  7. It appears that you are either too lean on the pilot jet, or your air mixture screws are opened too far. Hard starting problems are usually the sign of a lean condition. The pilot jets could also be partially blocked.
  8. Very possible they are the Gold Series Woods pipes.
  9. There were two different Gold Series that I've saw. The ones that are in the pics above, which have the straight chamber, and are the older style, as in pre 1996, or older. The Gold Series that I used to have, had the curves in the chamber, just like the Fatty's do, so TwistedSheeRida go chase parked cars. The ones pictured are older than the ones my brother used to have, with the straight chambers.
  10. Those are the old school Gold Series pipes. Not even close to being a Fatty.
  11. The PV will help some, but keep in mind that the Cheetah's are a drag design. It sounds like you would be better suited to a 4 mil stroker crank, getting the jugs ported, and maybe getting some bigger carbs.
  12. It's not that simple. You will need bigger carbs, reeds, pipes, clutch, and a longer swinger, just to name a few things. The money is going to go fast.
  13. If you don't want to mess with jetting, and/or adjusting carbs, then you shouldn't have got a Banshee. It's all part of owning this beast.
  14. Buy a Clymer's manual. That is one thing a Banshee owner should be required to buy.
  15. Your plugs should be a light brown, so it's lean. I'd say put some 320's in, and check it again.
  16. Did he soak the clutch plates in oil, before installing them? You're supposed to use the recommended gear oil, or ATF. I would think that too heavy of a oil would cause some problems.
  17. Or maybe even some KY, or Anal Ease would work just as well.
  18. FMF pipes like a 27.5 pilot jet. Your main seems too small for pipes, and a K&N. Try a 280, or 290 main. Where are the air mixture screws set at? Both should be about 1.5 turns out.
  19. Do you still have the TORS crap hooked up? If so, pitch it in the trash.
  20. Check it for air leaks. If the outside temps have cooled off quite a bit, since you had it out last, you're probably going to have to rejet it.
  21. I did away with the key switch, but I'm going to install a hidden switch, so I can just turn it off, without unhooking the battery.
  22. I've had the MSD setup for about 5 years now, and it's great. They make a charger that plugs in between the stator, and the battery. It will charge the battery, as long as the RPMs are above 3,500. The only bad thing is, you have to unplug the battery, when the bike isn't running, or it will slowly drain it.
  23. Check for a stuck float, a bad needle, and seat above the float, or wrong float height. If you keep running it, without fixing the problem, you'll probably end up hydro locking the motor, and bending the crank, or rod, or both.
  24. If it's idling high, or the revs won't drop, when you let off the throttle, chances are it's lean. It could be a jetting problem, or an air leak. What jets are in the carbs, how many turns out on the air screws, on what slot is the clip on the needles, what's your temp, and elevation?
  25. Step up to a 30 pilot, and leave the plastic piece in. It helps keep the fuel from sloshing away from the jets.
