  1. I had the same problem and I took out the choke pick up jet ( little jet in the bottom of the bowl where the choke pick up tube goes, on the left carb) and cleaned it. I havnt had the problem since, and shee fires right up!! and yes, make sure your bowls are on the correct carb.
  2. If you cant figure it out.... you have Golden yamaha on 2nt street in odessa but I know of another guy that has a shop on 2nd street in between odessa and midland that specializes in banshees. thats who I woult take it to. hes Good! I forgot the name of the shop but in is on the north side of the road. you cant miss it if your looking for it!
  3. I know its a circus! I'll get it worked out. I know my motor inside and out but I hate carbs! Im just glad Im gettin it narrowed down, Thanks everybody! Oh and I found the forum to get informed about the 2 into 1 also.
  4. OK, Get this..... I went out and set the left float back to what I Remember to be the origional position (I know, messing with those damn floats). The bike would not start, so I pulled it with the trx again and she runs like a dream! this leads me to believe its a carb issue. I find it hard to believe that the float level would do this so I think something else is wrong with my carb and the float level was compensating for it???? I hate carb problems! Im going to look into a 2 into 1 set up. Are they worth it? do they resolve the issues of having dual carbs, or do they come with their own baggage? Thanks for all of the onfo. Im still kinda at a loss as to what is going on with my shee, all I know is that since I set the float back.... it wont start by kicking it, but when it does start it runs good, no more smoking, and Full power! so if anybody has an opinion let me know. Thanks everybody!
  5. its the left side that is smoking. right side is running better now after I reset the float needle closer to the origonal position. Im going to exhaust all simple solutions before I go pulling the jugs, I would hate for it to be a backwards slide (just an example) and I go digging into my motor. and im not even certain about my oil level dropping. I do agree grim ripper that the floats dont seem likely but the right side DID seem to like the adjustment back to the previous position which tells me to get the left side to the previous position ( back to when it wouldnt start). Which I tried to do today, with only the right side seeming to benifit. maybe The left side needs more adjustment??? is this just coinsidence?
  6. Its full. and its not the float levels either, I went through the carbs today with no luck. It looks like my bike MIGHT be getting lower on oil the more i run it. what are the chances of the case halves not sealing right and tranny oil getting in the crank case? still smoking bad, especially out of one side. that side exhaust is about half as hot as the other side, and kinda poppin funny! I know its hard to help with problems like this over the internet but any advice will help.
  7. Ok guys , I need some help figuring out wats going on with the shee. First of all its a fresh motor, from top to bottom. Ran like a champ for a few months, then became a pain in the butt to start. I hooked it up to the trx and popped the clutch to start it a few times and it ran fine (besides the fact that It had to be pulled by a honda to get her to start) haha. anyways.... it sat for about a month and I finally found time to mess with it a little so I took off the carbs and adjusted the floats so that the bowls would hold more gas (I had adjusted them the opposite way because they were over flowing). Put them back on and she fired right up! only this time Ive got a severe loss of power and the exhaust is solid white. when I put my hand to the exhaust it got covered with what seemed to be unburned gas. Obviously I'm going to re-adjust the floats back to where they were but I didnt think I adjusted them so much that it would cause this. and they are not over flowing either! any suggestions???
