  1. Hey gang... Hope the holidays have been treating all of you well this year. This is prolly alittle strange to be asking, but is there anyone in here that's been thru any form of spinal surgery? My life has degraded to the point that I no longer have the will to pretend I'm gonna get better on my own, but I can't just go into this blindly either. The plan is to replace the disks at c5,6,7 and I guess it all gets held in place with some stainless and a few screws. If any of you know about this stuff..could you please let me in on what you've heard. If all goes to hell in a handbasket...have I got some Banshee parts for you! Thanx ahead of time.. ~cork
  2. Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.
  3. I've always liked Thanksgiving for some odd reason.. I'm not much in the way of celebrating the holidays usually, gawd knows Christmas has always pissed me off, but Thanksgiving is somehow different for me. Maybe it's fall starting to roll in that does it for me? I'm one of them on again, off again style hunters and seeing the mornings begin to take on that "crisp" smell and the temperatures start to drop alittle..that always gets the hunting side of me smiling if no one is looking. This year's been alittle more special than normal around here. Pammie, owner and operator of the cutest backside this side of the Grand Canyon finally got some back surgery that was long overdue, and it looks like it's gonna be "just what the Dr ordered".. Not even a month now and she's walking about without anyone's help and grinning more than anyone without a secret outta be if you ask me! Work and life in general is going good at this end for the moment.. I've always been one of them folks that can make myself miserable for no good reason, but we're not doin' that today. Today, I've got too many reasons to be genuinely grateful to Whomever has put me in this situation, and I'm gonna do my best to hold up my end of the deal! Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! Take a moment to give someone special a hug today...hand someone who ordinarily just pisses you off a beer if you get the chance, and go out for a quick ride WHENEVER the opportunity comes along! We got it good and if you just take a moment to look, it's amazing what you might find.. ~corks
  4. Happy Thanksgiving right back atcha Bubba! p.s. What if that 35 yr old established professional career woman during the day IS a 19yr old whore from 10pm-6am? Wouldn't it just be kinda ironic if she was a cabbie named "Ray" just a few years before that?? I guess ya gotta ask yerself if you are happy....(insert your own before/after somewhere appropriate lol) ~corks
  5. Don't sweat it man...lol It's just a matter of a few more years and life will begin to take this MAGICAL bend...just chock full of distasteful little surprises... You begin to get "geriatric" mail... mysteiously, the acronym gang gets your e-mail address and before you know it you're on a first name basis with some bunch called ARPA It's alittle scarey 'cause EVERYONE seems to be in on it...lol! Even your Dr...who's always been a decent sort, will suddenly take a uncomfortable amount of interest in your diet, blood pressure...and last but not least, your prostate... (..and off in the distance a dawg begins to howl..) But all is not lost pilgrim...with age comes wisdom or so they say (mine must be coming "ground" 'cause it ain't here yet...blink, blink) Older guys got more money on account of they've had more time to pay things off. We try harder and we sorta hafta if you know what I mean.. All those long legged, bronze skinned beauties you're likely to run into on your way to the pharmacy, well they're just as tantalizing at 50 as they were at 15! Ya gotta watch it alittle here though 'cause if they call ya "sir" or worse yet "mister", the whole gig sorta just goes up in smoke. Furthermore, if some older gal notices you gettin alittle perkier around the young stuff, they'll slap a label on you as if things aren't already complicated enough...lol. So enjoy them 30's, they are really good years you'll come to find. I'm kinda finding that the 50's aren't so bad really....but you kinda gotta squint yer eyes juuusssstttt so... ~corkfor....somethingorother
  6. These guys are tellin ya right Bubba...2 grand will get you quite abit more bike than the one you are considering...ESPECIALLY if you're willing to travel some to pick one up. With all the talk about the gov't wanting to get rid of 2 strokes in general, plus all the new stuff coming out is 4 stroke anyways, if you take your time and look I'm sure that you'll find one quite a few years newer and in better condition to boot! In the meantime, spend some time reading up on banshees (this site's forum is a GREAT place to start!) and learn about all the modifications people are doing to their bikes to make them faster, handle better, and just plain more enjoyable all around! It's kinda one of them "measure twice, cut once" situations but, you'll be glad you did... ~cork
  7. Rodness...most excellent seein yer still around. The parts are working out great...My squeeze came thru backsurgery like a champ, and now the old bat is hounding me to get my neck split open and get my ass straightened out. Might just be cheaper to get a 450 huh? lol Glad things are lookin up for ya mate...Stay in touch if that's manageable! ~corks
  8. ... sometimes, ya just gotta wear what fits...ya know? ~corks
  9. Josh...ple lemme know you got the payment and some idea when you'll be shipping. I gotta bein Vegas for a Dr's appt and if I'm not gonna be here, I'll hafta arrang pickup or the post office will send it back...thanx ~cork ** I can also be reached at chukka@hughes.net if you need to...thanx again!
  10. That's not exactly right if I can add a few words. I have a '58 Cessna 175 with a Lycoming 180 HP 4 cyl in it. I rebuilt the engine a couple years ago and it uses .010 over steel cylinders and pistons. The rated time to next overhaul is 2000 hours and with regular ol changes the 2000 hour mark is merely a thorough going thru and looking everything over extra well, and many times returning the plane to operation. These things get annual inspections that look at pretty much everything, so keeping on top of them before a problem begins is a pretty regular process. Got all kinda pics if you wanna see them at http://profiles.yahoo.com/corkforbrains The photos are all under the "homepage" link at the bottom of the profile ~cork
  11. Thanx to all wrenchers, riders, and small-pekkered friends...lol! It's really kinda special when a group of web site acquaintences make more notice of my birthday than say...people I've known for like 50 years? Thanx everyone...you really are the best....and that means something on this end! ~corks ** Thegroup...where at in Nevada? I'm in Tonopah, but try to keep that quiet...k?
  12. Look for a paypal payment for the chrome +2" steering stem in the mail. I sent it out wed nite @8:00. Thanx! ~cork
  13. Props for this guy! I got a seat, side cover and cases from him and on top of world class packaging, the things got here in great time and I was seriously impressed with the condition of everything. When he told me "good shape", he wasn't kidding. Thanx again Rod! ~cork
  14. Reminds me of "pissin on someones leg and callin it rain"
  15. Hey...did the black seat sell and have you anything else left to get rid of? Thanx! ~cork
  16. I'm looking for a bottom end and tranny. What kinda shape is yours in and whatcha askin for it? Thanx! ~cork
  17. Haven't had a chance to try out the Stage IV's yet as I'm still gettin the bike back together. I keep buying new goodies and having to re-think my project every couple of weeks..lol I really like the idea that they're made outta stainless, but I haven't had a chance to see if they're worth what they cost me...I guess you could say I'm "cautiously optimistic" lol ~corks
  18. "Then she fell out of love with me and stuck around to see if I would tell her I was ready" Ya gotta admit...that's a button you don't find on the average calculator.. If she fell outta love...then why'd she stick around? Bubba...if yer addin up negative numbers, you outta not be too surprised if you keep getting negative answers...ya know? Still feel for ya though...hope it starts making sense soon.. ~corks
  19. Hey...aren't you the guy who was pushin Gopher Turtle Porn just a few days back? Seems to me the website was delayed by some claimed distractions back then too.. Pretty cool effect gettin that horny devil to do that Cossack Battle Cry towards the end. I din't wanna ruin it for anybody, but I think she was steppin on his tallywacker and he was just makin out like it was raw monkey love. I mean, even Tarzan din't start beatin his chest until it was ovah....ya know? Jez seein if anyone was payin attention.. ** On a lighter note...I'm still needin to talk with you about a motor someday...I'll get ahold of you after you get your webpage worked out.. ~corks
  20. Hey...lemme offer an idea, but keep an eye on me, I'm not the most experienced in this stuff. I ordered some brand new trinity stage IV's for mine and when I mounted them, they were an inch away from fitting on the front clamps. I called Trinity..they told me to loosen the front and back engine mounts and the torsion rods as well. Then take a soft wooden rod (like a broom handle) and gently push the whole motor in the direction it needs to go. Once the mounts lined up, I put in the bolts to attatch the pipes...Then I spent a few minutes balancing the whole motor/frame/sprocket alignment up so everything was reasonable straight and nothing rubbed. Worked great for me. Hope this helps ya as well! ~corks
  21. Ya know...whatever history decides to say about Steve Irwin down the road, it's alittle tacky to badmouth a guy that "taint" here to defend himself....much more so someone that's recently died. Props to ya Brookie...you musta had a good momma to be able to cut thru bullshit like that...lol ~corks
  22. Thanx Bubba...always nice to receive a compliment from a stranger! ~corkus
