  1. ok..what have you got? Im lookin for chrome and stock it seems..at a reasonable price. Considering how things have gone in here..pics are good...underside as well. Thanx!
  2. Thanx John...I'd have gone for the grab bar without the help of you guys..
  3. Thanx, but I'm wanting to stick with the chrome look wherever I can. This prolly means I'm gonna hafta settle for a stock grab bar I'm wonderin...thanx for getting back to me just the same!
  4. This guys starting to look like a bad apple folks. I sent him a check for $65 for a yellow front fender. He claims to have never received the check and sold the fender to someone else. IF I had known about all these other stories beforehand, that check would have never made the mail. This outta get intesresting...if that check gets cashed. I'll be sure to keep you all updated on this. We need someplace on here to check on a prospective buyer/seller to get an idea what kinda trouble they've been in the past...just my $.02 ~Ed
  5. I am looking for a rear grab bar and a yellow front fender at the moment. I would be interested in a complete set of black plastic if the price/condition is right...Thanx!
  6. I'm experiencing something that acts alot like vapor lock on a car...the Shee works fine for awhile, and then one day when I really wanna go out for a ride, she just won't start without me pullin the plugs and squirting in alittle fuel. I can kick all day and the plugs remain dry...Kill switch, key switch...electrical all seems good, so I concentrated on the fuel supply. Squirt alittle fuel in her and she starts right up and runs fine...thanx!
  7. I thought about that, but I don't think I could get past the taste..
  8. It'd be in a garage WITH a torch and the household heating system. My plans were to put it on casters and roll it around as necessary..It'd stay capped and cool for the most part and except for fueling up the quads. I'm still lookin for an outdoor alternative...movin it around would prolly be the big challenge...Thanx again!
  9. Cool... decent advice and not a one of you mentioned Darwin or "natural selection" Genuinely grateful here..thanx!
  10. I'm lookin for advice on keepin a drum of most likely VP10 in my garage...if it's pure insanity, pls say so..thanx.
  11. Man...that's what I get for browsing for parts and askin questions at the same time...thanx anyways Darwin wooda been proud of ya
  12. I paid $2500 for it... Thanx for the info on Duncan seizures...He told me to run edline in it and stick with VP 10 I beleive. If it's just gonna seize, I'm gonna let it. I'm so new at this, it'll be awile before I'm pushing it hard enough that I'll begin worrying about it I suspect..Thanx for the advice just th same!
  13. I'm told I am gonna need to run race gas in a motor I purchased...but between the welding tanks, the propane heater and quite possibly a drum of VP 10...I'm prolly just askin for it huh? Any help on this mighty appreciated...the laughs on me if I deserve it too..lol
  14. I bought it..Interesting adventure. It's a yellow/red '97 with tail damage, bent axle, bars, alittle plastic and a bent upper A. This guys all aces folks...what he said is what it be. The Duncan motor is a joy to behold... Took 7 hours one way and dodged the Yosemite blizzard on the way back..Still, a pretty cool adventure..
  15. Captain...take a look at the article 6 up from yours..I've been havin a similar problem and these folks have been great..Lotsa good info...good luck!
  16. You betcha...I've always been a firm believer in passing along good info...I'll be sure to keep you updated on my progress with this..and thanx again folks..I really appreciate all of your help with this!
  17. I'm in Tonopah Nevada Holyman...It's mostly desert riding here and we have some sand dunes just a short ways from the house as well. My banshee is seriously unhappy with my desert riding and soon, I plan to visit the dunes and see if my beast and I can reach a happy medium. btw, I am in the process of collecting a rolled Banshee with a motor that was done by Duncan...Cool head, 34mm carbs, porting and a trans mod..It's claimed to do wonders with the midrange sluggishness and that's pretty cool and all, but I've been a wrench head my whole life and I just want the hotter motor...lol, I think it's a midlife crisis or something...seems to make more sense than chasing blondes for the time being at least ;-)
  18. Thanx folks....between your postys and some alignment info I got from tips and tricks, I got my weekend cut out for me..lol I've been alittle suspect of the front wheel balance all along, but I need to do the things you folks have advised before I run out and buy new meats...Thanx for the help...I'm beginning to see why these monsters are sooo addicting..lol
  19. Bless you Holyman..this is exactly the information I've been looking for. I won't get to look at these things till this weekend, but if my findings require new parts, you can certainly expect my business. From what I've been able to determine, it's the front end that's shaking and it's violent enough that it's being transmitted thru the bars..I should know more this weekend..Thanx again..I really appreciate this...and thanx to all of you for your time...hopefully I get the chance to repay this kindness someday in the future...Happy riding!
  20. ok..one last question...how do you check the alignment on one of these beasts? Is each measurement referenced against the center of the frame (the steering stem for instance)?. I figgered that you need a little bit of toe in and that could be measured/sdjusted with some careful time spent with a tape measure...or is there a special way of doing this? Sorry to be such a pain about this..I'm thinking that if 4 wheelers just behave like this, I'd be seeing more posts about the problem, and since you don't see that many posts, something must be wrong here and it's just a matter of stickin with it to get it resolved. For the fella that was askin earlier, I'll be 48 next month...I know, I know...once the Parkinsons sets in the front end wobble will prolly go away...lol Take care and thanx again! ~Ed
  21. I am trying to solve a steering wobble problem that occurs at 35 mph and above, antime I get on a smooth dirt road and have the opportunity to open her up alittle...I've just recently purchased this machine and am new to 4 wheelers in general. Is there any online resources available that might give instruction on wheel/tire balancing and alignment procedures? I took it out for a ride yesterday with the front plastic removed, but that didn't give me any clearer idea of what might be causing this. The tie rod ends seem to have about the same amount of threads showing and I've given the wheels a shake to see if some bearing might need replacing, but it's still a mystery to me..Thanx for your time Banshee Buds..I'm really new at this and maybe old farts such as myself just shouldn't play on Banshees..lol

  23. Can anyone help with this? At 35 mph, my steering starts to wobble badly and just beats you to death if you try to stayt at that spped or higher. Anyone got any idea what might be causing this and how it can be fixed? This really takes all the fun outta travelling down long smooth dirt roads...Thanx!
