  1. Just to let you all know I got my wife from the 8th floor. She's perfect..... And if you don't believe in the perfect mate, then you need to get out and stop attending the family reunions because you aren't going to find the perfect mate there. She rides(sleds/banshees), she's great looking, she's smart, has a great job(almost makes as much as me and I told her we'd party the day she passes me), loves everything I love and has a great family. I do most of the cooking, she does most of the cleaning. Just thought i'd add that. So often people are arguing about things that were just misunderstood... As for the person that has the dog shit problem, i'm not sure if you are allowed to discharge firearms in your area but see about getting some bird shot loaded up with rock salt. The dog won't come back and i'll personally guarantee that.
  2. Yeah groundhogs are hearty motherf*ckers. I had one in my shed. Until one morning I spotted him out my dining room window and grabbed the 20ga with a 3in mag brenneke slug. Snuck out the front door, around the side of the house and leaned up against the corner of the house. He didn't see it coming took his freaking head off and believe me he didn't run away. I chose the 20 instead of the 22 because i've heard that a 22 will just hurt them and not kill them. As for squirrels if you can use a shotgun(which in the city that might not work) it makes it easy to clean up because there is nothing but hair and a tail.
  3. What's your top speed on your bansh alcohol???
  4. I'd go with the Nitto's. I have them on my truck and they provide some great traction. Here's a link for them where they are $112.00/piece. http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/f...204&rd=17&ar=70 The wear rating is incredible at 500 and works well in mud, pavement, grass, snow. I also plow with my truck and they work great. As for ice they aren't as good as a studded tire, but then again I don't know of any tires that are great on ice unless they are studded. I drive my truck alot on main roads, usually put 25,000 a year because I have a pretty long commute to work and I really needed a tire that I could plow with and that I wouldn't have to change every 10,000 miles because they were worn out. The latest test was about 10 inches of mud while I was hunting that I had to drive through for about 200 ft. Of course I was in 4wd but they gripped really well.
  5. Was ripping around my 96 shee this past weekend and all of the sudden, it was like the throttle stuck wide open. Except the throttle still feels perfect. So I quick shut it off and thought maybe one of the slides stuck open, so I pulled the rubber boots off of the carbs that attach it to the air box so that I cold make sure the slides still were working properly and everything seems right. So before I start tearing it apart i'd like to know if anyone has had this happen or if there is anything that you can think of that would cause this. Thanks to all that reply....
  6. And one last thing I forgot, if your goal is to be able to do slow wheelies my method won't work. The only way to do slow wheelies is to determine your quads balancing point like mentioned above. I just hate the fact that the only way to find your quads balancing point is to tip backwards while throwing yourself off a few times. As long as i'm accelerating on my quads I can pull a wheelie. When I can't accelerate anymore, that's when the front comes down. And since i'm ok with not doing wheelies at 85, there isn't a time when I stop accelerating.
  7. Some more tips...... I don't lean back because you have more of a chance of going over backwards. I just slide back a couple inches on my seat, start in 1st gear, get it going fast enough so that you are in the power band, then let completely off the gas and then punch it to get the front up then gradually feather it. Make sure you have your right foot resting on the rear brake because you'll want to become real familiar with it. Another tip, practice on grass so that way if(and I haven't yet) you go on over you'll just get some grass stain. As for shifting while doing a wheelie, you have to get used to pulling a wheelie in 1st while increasing speed because when you hit 2nd you want to be able to be in the power band in second as well. Another tip, don't use the clutch while shifting doing a wheelie. I for the longest time couldn't shift into 2nd, my clutch lever is very heavy and I just couldn't shift fast enough, so I talked to a cousin that used to race MX and he said don't use the clutch. That is definitely the key. Once you get so you can keep it up while shifting to 2nd you are ready for the road. Get on a nice straight black top road and you can go right up through the gears holding the front up. Just make sure the tire pressure in your rear tires are the same or else you will pull big time either to the left or right. My 98 pulls big time because I haven't got a chance to adjust tire pressure. Last bit of advice, do it over and over and over and over. You'll get it in no time.
  8. Thanks for the reply kgl..... I didn't know clinton was trying to play pharmacist.....that's a good bit of info. As for giuliani, from what i've read and seen, he doesn't seem to be a bad guy. Of course if he does run i'm sure all the bad things about him will come out. I guess we'll have to wait and see. And the media is already talking more and more about it. I've heard it 4 separate time on 3 different news channels.
  9. Big boy, you must also have trouble reading. My point was "SKIP MY POST IF YOU DON'T LIKE WHAT THE SUBJECT SAY". Who are you to say what forum I can put my post on. Thanks for all that replied with an intelligent post.
  10. Well if a person is so burned out about politics and the election, why would you click on a thread that has a subject line that has to do with politics???? Just like if I was sick of reading about gay marriage, I wouldn't click on a thread that says, "gay marriage announced for Rosie O'Donell". Got my point? I was just seeing what other people thought about the proposed matchup in 2008.
  11. Awesome, Awesome, Awesome bike. Very comfortable with good torque and power for a 600. I was actually trying to find one back in the spring because they are pretty cheap. I was trying to find an all yellow one. The only issue I remember reading about was something with the fuel system had to be remapped. Wasn't a big issue but effected throttle response. Because I couldn't find the one I wanted, I decided to go with an 01 ZX9-R instead. Man I really miss it, my wife hated it so bad that I decided to trade it for 2 banshees and $1000. Just something about going from 0-90mph in 1st gear.......
  12. Then why the f*ck do you click on the thread??? Thanks for your opinions, i'm so happy you chose to reply.....
  13. Just curious of the opinions on this...... I have to say I would take either one over the 2 choices we had tuesday....
  14. Do you want an answer to getting over the heartbreak??? Get another asap...... It is the only cure when losing a faithful and loyal friend. I just got a new black lab. She's beautiful and next monday she will be 5 months..... And she gets to get spayed, what a great 5 month birthday present. I laugh at her all the time, and she gets mad at me when I do. She's got a major fetish with empty plastic soda bottles. I fear for my appliances, furniture, walls whenever I give her a soda bottle. Its like she's on speed...... I'll post a pic of her when I get the chance.
  15. Yeah for the longest time I could pull decent wheelies in first, you know get the rpms into the power band, let off the throttle completely then punch it, but I couldn't keep accelerating to keep it up, so I had to figure out a way to keep accelerating. So I tried several times shifting and as soon as i'd hit that clutch down it would come. So I talked to my cousin that raced motocross for years and he mentioned not using the clutch when shifting doing a wheelie. I tried it and it works, I could shift and keep it up for maybe another second but then it would come down. I realized the problem I was having was I was in the power band in 1st but when I shifted to 2nd I wouldn't be in the power band and the front wheels would drop after a second. So you have to get the front wheels up and let the rpms really creep up then when you do hit second you'll be in the power band in second also. Kind of tricky to explain. But if you can keep it in the power band you'll have the power to control your wheelie, and as other people have said, get real intimate with your rear brake, mainly to prevent tipping back to far.
  16. I'm not usually the type to brag but I finally can pull a wheelie through first and second. It was definitely hairy the first few tries, but i'm getting relatively comfortable with it. I was always told the hardest part of wheelying is shifting gears with the front tires up in the air....
  17. Our prank involved 2 stages, of course our stage was legal and the second stage was highly illegal and was not performed by my group. We started with about 20 gallons of weed killer, wrote "Class of 97'". Then we toilet papered every single tree up the schools driveway and in front of the school. A good probably 30 trees. Then took the movable curbs(that are placed in front of parking spots to keep people off the grass) and placed then in the shape of a "97". Then when we came back in the morning we had seen that a group was there after us and had painted all over the school, sidewalks, ripped some of the smaller trees out with a car and chain and then did donuts all over the lawn in front of the school. They got in trouble with the cops, had to do community service and couldn't go to graduation. It was quite weird not having the top 10 students in the front row on stage, because 2 of them were involved. So we had a top 8 instead of 10.
  18. Well decided to take yesterday and put it to good use. Had the day off from work(Columbus day) and rather than pay $300,$400,$500 for a dealership to replace the bearings, bushings, seals, I decided to do it myself. Started at about 9:00am, had everything apart and the old bearings out by 11:30am, called for the parts and by 12:30pm had all necessary parts plus a grease zerk to be installed in the axle housing. By 3:00pm had grease zerk, bearings, oil seals and swingarm back on. Everything put back together and riding it around by 4:00pm. Had times when I was thinking it would've been better to have a dealership do it, but now that its done, I am glad I took the time to do it myself. Therefore, if anyone has questions or needs tips/info for replacing the axle and/or swingarm bearings feel free to ask. I'll try to answer any questions you might have to make it easier for you.
  19. Awesome, awesome, awesome. Thanks alot BenBB, its the exact type of info I was looking for. Luckily the swingarm itself already has a grease jerk in it so i'll be able to skip that. But I definitely want to put a jerk in the rear carrier. I've found a good website that shows the layout of parts for just about every location on a banshee from the years 1990-2003. It's a good tool to help when taking stuff apart. You just select the year, the model and which component(for me it was rear arm and rear wheel) and it shows a blown up view of the swingarm/rear axle assembly with all bushings, bearings, nuts, and washers. If anyone is interested its http://216.37.204.206/xtremepowersports/Ya...M/YamahaATV.asp It also provides a price listing if you want to just order the parts through this website. Prices don't seem too bad.
  20. Just curious if anyone changes there own bearing in the swingarm and axle. The bearings went in the axle of my 98 and while I have it apart i'd like to replace the bearings in the top of the swingarm. If anyone has any tips, tricks that would help make it easier, please let me know. Also if you have any other info, things to look out for, things that are a b*tch that would be great.
  21. Thanks a bunch, i'm going to drain the oil and get some heavier weight oil. Hopefully I won't have to replace the clutch......
  22. Where do you purchase Mobil One MX4T??? I just want to exhaust all possibilities before I go and order new clutch plates......
  23. If you were to use Quaker State 10W-30 oil in the tranny could that cause the clutch to slip under WOT?? It has a small leak and the person that I bought it off of said that's what he used whenver it got low. I've talked to other people and a few recommend 80w oil...???
  24. So do you think replacing just the friction plates would work??? Or should the metal plates be replaced also???
  25. Thanks for the replies. Is it a difficult job to replace the clutch? I've replaced a clutch in an old dirtbike I had which was pretty simple. You mentioned a clutch kit, is there a specific kind or brand you'd recommend? Now i'm not sure if banshees are the same as my old dirtbike, but on my old dirtbike you could buy just the friction plates and springs, you didn't need to buy a whole kit. I don't mind the hard pull but when it seems to slip as well as pull hard then something don't seem right.
