what was the point of that?

correct me if im wrong. it will stall out! the gears only go one way. and if your talkin about riding backwards it wont work because the chain slack when ridden forward is on the bottom and if driven in reverse would make chain slack on the top. you would go though about 5 chain sliders and rollers before you got it up to sixth gear. though it would be cool driving like a high speed fork lift. i dont thnk it would start jumping it in reverse. seems too weird of question.

when you pull the choke it should bog out and die. change the needle clip to the middle. make sure the floater bowls are on the right carb. ( the bowl with the gold or bronze ball at the botton if it should be on the left side, the side with the choke). are you running lean? it almost sounds like your pilots are lean. how does it run when you get it going? it actually sounds like your lean all over. you are mixing race gas right?

is your clutch cable working? i would start out with a new clutch cable then check out the push rod. you should be able to tip your engine on the side and it will slide out. even if its welded to the ball it should come out. if the rod is bent and wedged in there you will have to split your cases i think. get a clymers and it will show you how to do all of that. i didnt read anyone elses post so i dont know whats been said. peace

i just finnished putting my bike back together after about 2 months. i now have a CV 34mm carb lightend fly wheel, and shaved head. and now i can flip over backwards no problem. before i had to use the clutch to flip over. those stock carbs are junk, thats for sure. you only need one carb and 2 pipes anyways. i thought rebuilding the engine was hard. now i cant even hold on, its spinning though the gears like a raped ape on crank. i couldnt be more happy with it now. it was getting old just looking at the engine in peices on the bench. its was worth the wait thats for sure. i tryed to do a WOT test to check the plugs and i couldnt even get fast enough. i was actually skeeard . thing takes off like a fart in a wind storm. where do you guys go to do the WOT, to test your jetting? i think i would have to go to like a drag strip or somthin. im gonna go sit on it now and maybe even start it up.

you wanna know how to get rid of that lag? get a CV intake shaved head, shaved fly wheel, and pipes. you will be begging for mercy.

i just put on a 34 pj and its called a flat side carb. its not round like the stick ones. i would suggest to use the right size though. if you port it and get new reds then i would get a bigger one but for just a carb upgrade i would prolly just go with 28 or 33's. i heard that they stoped making the pj carb back in 2000 or soehting. does anyone know anything about that?

yeah i think they tough when in the off position so that complets the ciruit. sounds like it working fine to me.

is it possable to use metal washers for spacers? where the engine bolts to the frame i lost 2 of those spacers so now it dont fit tight. what size should i use and how think. anyone?

i dont understanbd why people take there bikes to the dealership. i personally would rather give my bike away to charity than bring it there.
