  1. How many hours do you generally get out of them? How much to fix em'. The principle behind them makes sense, under power you should still have the full travel of your rear shock. Have you noticed such an occurence? I appreciate your input.
  2. I've got an amp link for my 87 shee and I was just wondering if anybody has ridden a bike with one and what did you think of it? My bike is in the process of being rebuilt and I've already put it on but haven't rode with it yet. I just want to know what I can expect. Thanks.
  3. Looks tight. Looks like it still lets your radiator breathe good too. Some of those aftermarket grille inserts are too thick and look like shit. This one is sick.
  4. Fusion is good stuff for plastic, sand them down nice and smooth with 800 grit preferably, wash them, paint them with nice light even coats and let each coat dry thoroughly. After you finish with your color you can get some clear coat and do the same or just wax and polish your freshly painted plastics. Takes some time but is worth it if you cannot afford new plastics.
  5. Depends on how you cut them! Some trimming is OK but hacking them off almost all the way looks like sH*t! The question you need to ask yourself is am I willing to sacrifice looks for a few mph on the top end? How often are you completely tapped out anyhow? I'd bet not too often. I would not hack em'.
  6. I just repainted my 87. Frame corvette red, swingarm and j-arms gloss black. Plastics are black and looks good versus the red frame. Looks great and have had many complements. I agree though, if you got the $$ go chrome. I went with the red for my hubs and axle carrier, I also painted my stock steering stem red. Looks Nice!
  7. If there were no banshee it would be a terrible world but if I had to choose it would definitely be yfz450. They haul ass but still is no replacement for the shee!
  8. Thanks for the input. You guys seem pretty knowlegeable.
  9. I read that the production of the Banshee wont stop until 06'. They say by then emissions regulations will be so bad they will have to discontinue.
  10. Rocky Mtn. ATV has maier plastics for a decent cost. Shipping is usually pretty minimal too.
  11. I'm pretty good with my bike and repairs but have never taken anything this far down. Just general advice so I dont destroy anything needlessly. I appreciate the welcome. This place kicks ass. mainly I need to know what needs to be done after the motor is reinstalled before starting the shee up!
  12. I have approx. $2300 in aftermarket parts for my 87 banshee. Wiseco Pro Lite pistons, Tr-6 pipe kit, big bar clamp, Taper bars, motion pro twist throttle, terminator clutch cable, new x-ring chain, sprockets,p. brake block off, ez-pull clutch lever, amp link, billett impeller, 2 to 1 air filter w/outerwear and some more odds and ends. Any suggestions when installing these parts and putting this beast back together will be appreciated.
