It looks a bit shinier but makes the paint look deep. You dont need automotive clear, Krylon will work good. I would show you pics of mine but I dont have the capability to post pics yet. Trust me it looks nice though.

I feel for ya bud. My friend got his jacked. Luckily we saw the guy riding it at Juniper Dunes about 30 miles from his house and we got it back. My friend laid the smak down on the mother fuc*er and we took it back. Cops got involved and the guy went to jail. He got charged restitution and my buddy still hasn't seen a dime. The bike was trashed but at least he got to kik someones ass!

Look in the images forum. There are some sick ass pics of custom paint jobs in there.

I would say that your power supply is probably fried. Thats my first guess. Hope it helps, I'll keep thinking about it and let ya know.

I really wish I could tell you that but my catalogs dont give me that information. I would say just mic it and do the same to the socket I guess. If I can find out from my techs I will and I'll let ya know.

I work at a GM dealership at the parts counter. If you are looking for the front wheel drive shaft nut it is M20x1.5x21.8 hex lock, prevailing torq. If you pm me the last 8 of your vin # I'll find out for sure. If not I can give you a toll free line to call me at work and I'll help you out. I hate parts guys that aren't willing to help out on the little questions but are your best friends when you want something expensive. I have been in the business for several years and I see it all the time, its bullshit. Either way let me know if I can help.

What a piece of shit that guy(Dale)! I have shot guns since I was a little kid and safety is always first. Scum bag people dont deserve the right to own a firearm. I hope they at least stripped him of this right. You did good by keeping your temper under wraps though. I dont know if I could have done it, I probably would have put one in his head! Sorry to hear that he didn't get life!

For draggin get some haulers! Just take it easy on hard pack and gravel and you'll be fine.

I ride the bike to its full potential. Some day I hope to have it fast enough that I cant, but for right now I feel like I totally abuse it. It knows only full throttle! I think that the amp link will be a good edition so long as I just keep it lubed and the alignment is straight.

Powder coat. No paint will last as long as powder coat. For the money, its the most bang for the buck.

Brake Pads. EBC for sure. (just my opinion)

what to do when you first get a shee
Banshee169 replied to joker90p's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I agree with pimp559, you need to know about your bike. After time with it you will be more in tune to what its doing and notice even the smallest problems. Eventually you will have been through the bike so many times you wont even touch the manual, but in the begining it is a good thing to have around. -

Air filter replacement for sure. The beast needs to breathe. Also if you are used to a twist throttle get a Motion Pro throttle. I went from dirtbikes to the Banshee and it really gave my thumb hell. -
I am in total argeement with Holyman. I had the same problem with my 87 and thats how I took care of the bastard. The grease zerk is a great idea too. Easy to do and very beneficial.

Is the noise really that bad? I thought it would be hard for it to be as loud as my worn out stock chain rollers! And does everybody have to customize to get it to align with the rear sprocket. I have not put my chain back on yet but it looks perfect aligned.

Sand blasting is good, I had mine glass blasted, it is a lot finer and gives alot smoother finish. Just my opinion. Any commercial painting company has this capability but you may have to talk real nice to get it done. If not, sandblasting is good too.

I just bought em' and I have .020 over Wiseco Pro-Lite pistons. Will the "Perfect" jet kit Toomey supplied still be OK?
-
Dont turn to the dark side! Come back into the light. You could dump tons of money into the 450 and still never be as fast as a Banshee can be. Take the $7000 you would spend on the 450 AND DUMP IT INTO THE SHEE! Then you will have a bike that is hard to hold on to. Bye Bye 450's.

That sucks. I agree, its not the fall that hurts ya, its the sudden stop at the bottom. Take your meds and behave. If it makes you feel any better my buddy just shattered his femur into 8 pieces two days ago, the x-rays look pretty bad. Now he has a metal rod from his hip to his knee with a few rather large screws holding it all together. Pretty grusome.

Banshee's look great in any color! Do it up how you want.

Wow! Sounds like a piece of shit! I'll give her a try but it doesnt sound like it is worth the trouble. Thanks for the link.

The guy is full of shit. Not possible unless the guy on the banshee just couldnt ride. I watched a shitty z-400 with only a pipe and silencer beat a predator which I happily beat down as well with my 87 shee!
-
It will not fit, I tried it on my brother in laws bike this weekend.

Just did my 87! Use a high quality car paint. You may want to prime everything with a rust inhibitor. As far as color schemes go, if you are staying with yellow and red plastic, I would do the frame in red or black and do the swingarm, j-arms, hubs etc. in the opposite red/black you paint the frame. Like red frame, black components or black frame, red components. I am kind of partial to red frame and black components because mine is this way and also the grease from your zerks doesn't look as bad on black as it does on a lighter color. A couple good coats of clear really make the bike shine and the paint look nice and deep. If you don't want to o it yourself a body shop could do it up real nice for under 150.00 (just a suggestion)

Very nice work!
