I have a set of T-5's on my bike...they're great. I also ride the dunes, exclusively. They work really good on a stock motor, and will respond well to any mods you make. They hit real hard at the mid range(light switch...hold on) and rev up top pretty good. RockyMountain atv has a pretty good price on them. I don't know anything about the Trinity pipes. Stainless steel sounds pretty nice..but at what price? I have'nt really heard any high reviews about them. The Toomeys are a proven pipe for the sand, and I think they're cheaper than the Trinity pipes. But if you are planning on going all out(big bore, porting..etc.) higher reving pipes like CPI's, Rockets, or Shearer might be the ticket. Just depends on your master plan. Toomeys will work alot better on a stock motor, and will still perform well with mods.

Yeah that sounds about right...the company probably found an easier way to manufacture the product, but as long as it still performs well. RNBRAD...still waiting on the swingarm/shocks, apparently Janssen ordered the shocks from Elka, they had to make a pair for my 240lb fat ass, I hope they come soon though...itch'in real bad to hit the dunes again

What ever happened to the little boy. He has been made, and now has nothing to say. It's a shame what happened here, but thanks for letting everyone know about this rodent. Banshee rider, you had better be careful out there, you can't hide behind your parents all the time, and some people really don't care if you do. You can't take people's hard earned money...ecspecially this gentleman, who has a family to provide for. I am a postal worker, and odds are that you or someone affiliated w/you cashed that check...I would bet on it! What did you think, burn him once on the wheels, easy target to do it again. Did the fucking dog eat the moneyorder? Well no one will deal with you now

Still waiting on my front Elkas and Janssen swingarm. I wanted to know if the stock shock would work for a while. Would rebuilding it be good?..or go with the rear Elka? I have a +4 coming soon...will the stock shock install and operate ok? I wanted to know if there are going to be any installation issues...RNBRAD , did your's install real easy(forgot to ask if your rear shock is stock) Thanks for the help

Thanks for the replies...Thanks RNBrad, I know you're running the same swingarm.

Ok fellas, I did some searching on this subject, but I felt inclined to ask again anyways...I will be running a +4 Janssen swingarm , with 13/41 gearing. I know I will need new sprockets w/ new chain. How many links will I need to take off of the 520/120 DID(non O-ring) chain? Does this chain have the master link w/removable clip? Anyone with info?

Thanks for the feedback gentlemen...RNBRAD, I think you reccommended the Janssen( a good descision)...I was really impressed with your mods...DICE valve caps, very old school, but the banshee spirit lives on; DUCT TAPE reinforced frame, well you just never know, a good idea for me;BAILING WIRE on the grips, for that arm wrenching TWO STROKE powerband...YEAH And last but not least, I really like the FEAR THIS sticker...It'll compliment my BAD BOY stickers on the rear fenders!!! Now I'll really fit the mold...you gotta appreciate the humor in all of us, thanks for the laugh PS, I think you can get two toned duct tape on Ebay...for that custom look.

Finally decided on a swingarm. After going back and forth I went with a +4 Janssen swinger in chrome. They had one in stock...so I got the chrome job for free. I also ordered a set of Elkas for the front. Dual rates(stock A-arms)with no rezzies(ride dunes...and by no means a pro racer) The Elkas came highly reccommended by many of you...and I'm a big dude(I need suspension BAD) I can add the rezzies later on them if I need to. The Janssen has a life time warranty on it, and it looks strong as hell. I like the oval tube design. This was also reccommended by a couple HQ'ers...and alot of those YFZ450 guys. I will post a product review once everything is here, and installed.

Thanks RNbrad...I will check out Janssens...Cotton eye Joe, what is your product line? I also learned Tucker pre-heats the stock, and then MIG welds. I am no welder...but isn't TIG the preffered method? Maybe because of the pre-heat, itallows for good heat penetration If anyone knows please reply.

I was looking at the Tucker+4 swing arm with round house style carrier. It goes for about $670 (shipping included) Prosport atv is their website. Anyone running one? I was also looking into the Quicksand model. Can Quicksand match the red '04 frame? Where's the best price for Elkas?
-
Thanks alot guys...I think I will look Gary up, since he's right around the corner from me.
-
I have heard great things about Quicksand, and was thinking about buying a set. These come with heim joints...right? Will I have to reem out the spindles? I have an 04. I was also considering Ricky Stator's as well, uses a full size ball joint, which does'nt require any machining..perfect fit? Also with the Quicksand arms, is adjusting the camber and caster easy? Do they send instructions, and setting specs? Alot of questions, but I would appreciate any advice. Which arms are better?

I bought A pair from Toomey for 20 to 30 dollars. The silencers do require hangars. Go to Toomey's web site, I think they were under the parts section or accessories section. Kind of pricey for two little aluminum hangars, but fit and finish with the hangars / silencers is good.

Right now my shee only has pipes. I rode the dunes on halloween, and did notice handling wasn't the best. The front end came up a couple times on the hill. I am 240 pounds, and I know the stock shocks are screaming. My question is...How much of a difference would +2 A-arms make? I am getting new shocks, but debating between the need for the A-arms, or +4 swing arm first. I only ride the dunes from here on out. I want to know if an extended swing arm and good shocks will be enough. For duning and hill shooting, is it worth the 500$ for +2 A-arms?
-
You can buy those from Toomey for about $25 or $30, they're aluminum hangers.

Thanks guys...your info and advice is highly appreciated

Thanks guys for all your opinions...I'm new to the dunes, I'll be coming from phoenix. I know how to get to Gordons (general area) Which exit off of 8 do you take? Gordon's exit or do you guys get off somewhere else. I need to know the choice camp sites over there. Also do you guys like Patton's. How long does it take to get to Glamis from Phoenix?

Holyman how much for the moldy tortillas and torn socks(they don't need to match)
-
Just wanted input on the better dunes to ride...first time out to the dunes.
-
You are lean on the main. I would go buy 320's, 310's, and 300's. Start at the 320's and do the plug check. Make sure...where ever you buy the jets...that they are the correct sizes. Some of the guys that work at the dealers are'nt always on Q. The sizes are stamped on the jets. Don't ride the bike until you make the jet change.

When does it backfire? At which throttle position?
-
I have t-5's, no airbox, and twin K&N's. Everything else is stock. My elevation is about 1200 feet above sea level. I run 320 mains, 27.5 pilot, and stock needle on the fourth clip position(from blunt end) Runs awesome. If your elevation is close, as stated you should be between 300 to 320 on the mains. Start with a bigger main and do the proper plug check procedure. Run wide open in 5th to 6th gear for a few seconds, then turn off the motor and coast to a stop, then check the plug. Should be chocolate brown, not wet.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I got a look at the pro design chart. It calls for 130 psi @ sea level and 124 psi @ 1000 ft above. I think my elevation is more like 1100 ft above sea level. Did the test again still 115 psi. Anyone with same elevation get a stock compression test? I broke it in easy...varying the rpm's for one tank of gas. I didn't pinn it until half way on the 2nd tank of gas(could'nt resist) Bike is all stock except for pipes.
