  1. thanks DUNE.....I will keep that in mind for sure.
  2. ok...my '97 shee locked up in the middle of a race...I had to finish with just 3rd gear....lol My shift star was simply out of adjustment. Take off the case and see if you can shift it....do a little star adjustment to see if it takes....then see if you can shift again. It took me about 2 hours and I was done. Took longer to take her apart than it did to fix it. Good luck....
  3. I dont know who this guy is....but by the sound of it....he has a babied banshee. Sounds like a good buy to me.... where does this guy live..... I will give you 2000.00 for it!
  4. I have all stock shocks..... I figured I could have them rebuilt at less cost than buying new ones.... But what does that exactly mean...rebuild. One of you is talking about re-valveing, and the other re-springin.... can someone clarify a "rebuild" for me? I guess I would first have to know what's inside.... I just want my handlebars to stop hitting me in the head....lol. Maybe a used set off ebay would be a brighter idear....hmmm
  5. holyman...I just found the link to your fix....Im gonna try it myself...save you the money on the parts. Truely appreciate it from the bottom of my banshee lovin heart. Thats way cool of you to offer the service....youd think Yamaha would do something about it. Damn stealers.
  6. Holyman....you rock....today is the 22nd.... I too am sick and tired of my fixes lasting one ride..... lol....and you can hear the rattle a mile away..... I will be sending you mine tonight....Im hoping it gets to you in time....thanks man
  7. thanks for the info.... Im hearing that it might be pretty easy to do.... Im gonna look into kits...see what the cost is. Hell I dont know Ive never done it.... Has Anyone?
  8. Shock rebuild yes or no? I have a 97 shee....and if I have to ride my buddies cadillac...I mean Raptor....one more time before I do something about it....Im gonna shoot him. I need some good suspension, but I dont have a thousand bucks. Trust me, I would love a nice set of new arms and shocks all around...but for now....Im thinking about a rebuild. Has anyone done it themselves? or know about what it would cost to get all three done? or for that matter, know anyone on here that does it? thanks for the help guys.
  9. I was out on the trails in Hollister, Ca. this last weekend and busted a perch. The damn thing just broke...fell off when coming to a stop. Anyway, my buddy had some QuikSteel (kinda like JB weld) I put that stuff on there and in 30 minutes I was off to the races. I put a couple tie wraps on there to take off the pressure, but worked great. I think its a must for everyones toolbox.
  10. Killer thanks guys..... I went out and got some 100% Silicone. Worked great and I did it to the other side just in case. Ya, its crazy when it happens....lol....you think you've heard your shee rev high....just wait till the throttle sticks....lol....I didnt know mine could rev like that....looks like Im not bangin it hard enough. thanks again....
  11. thanks for your help guys.... he will really appreciate the info.... Hell he's gonna need both bottles to keep up with me....the boost kind...and the whiskey kind.... Cause you gotta be drunk or crazy to think anything can take our banshee's!
  12. He had a 400ex and had the 465 kit installed, but now he cant get it jetted right. He was having a problem starting it till he went and bought a new battery...lol. Anyway, he just put in a new needle....made it idle and improved his lower end....however....hes getting nothing but bog in the top end. He is using the stock keihin carb currently. My question to you is, if you were building a 465, what carb would you put on it? Money of course is no option. (I wish I had the same luxery) What brand and size would be best suited for this setup? I know this is a banshee forum....I myself bleed blue....and my buddy, is sick of me kicking his ass....so he went and got the 465 build...But now it wont run right. I just thought this may be a good place to ask.
  13. Im out at Sand Mountain, NV....just about to crest the top.....shifting to 2nd from 3rd at about 9k RPM's.....a loud pop, and then nothin but bog.....I get her to turn around and once I hit the flats, I crank her over. All of a sudden the RPM shoot through the roof. The left slide had twisted and was sitting on the idle screw.... What a pain...I dont know how to keep it in there. Im thinking some jb weld on the outside should keep it in place....but then again Im not sure how its sapposed to stay there in the first place. It looks like its pressed in there...but now its no longer tight and my slide is just pushing it out of the way. You slide it in and out with your finger and needlenose. What should I do? Has this ever happened to anyone?
  14. I was riding some dunes and all of a sudden, my left carb is stuck wide open. I just flew back to camp and killed the engine. When I took it apart, I initially thought the pin had broke off, cause it wasnt there. But then I simply pushed it back in. My slide is pushing it out of place. Basically you can move it without any problem. Im thinking some JB weld on the outside to keep it in there? But then again, I dont know how its sapposed to stay in there to begin with. The guide pin, when I take it out of the carb, has no threads on it. Is it just punched in there. I cant imagine that thing falling out on the dunes. In fact Im lucky it didnt happen to me out there at Sand Mountain, NV. Any ideas.....????? I need to go riding tomorrow....what to do?
  15. I went to town on my airbox....cutting the end off and using it for the bottle. I also cut away the middle of the box, completely exposing the K@N. I left the front on, so Im running a 2:1. Works great. And I dont have to worry about the weight on the carbs....cause the stock airbox has those flanges on the front for barring the weight.
  16. Got carbs you dont need anymore? pm me and let me know what you want for um.
  17. I have to kick mine with the heel of my boot while pulling on it. The kickstarter on Banshee's is probably the one thing they need to replace for good. I am on my second one. You can purchase the rebuild kits for 10-15 bucks from Rocky Mountain or Chaparral. But, I am on my second one of those as well. I am about to go get a new one alltogether cause Im sick of kickin my engine, and rappin my knuckles.
