  1. The slides have the "cutaway" facing the airbox. Any other ideas? I really do appreciate the help.
  2. The idle screws are backed out all the way. The slides appear to be seated fully and there is the correct amount of free play in the throttle cable. I checked for an airleak also around the carb/boot area. The problem came right after piping and rejetting. The larger pilots do "seem" (to me) like a possible solution though. Doesn't a lean motor rev higher? I want to say that I tried choking it and giving it minimal throttle, bringing positive results. Which would support the larger pilot theory... but it may just be in my head.
  3. Thanks Ducman, I will give that a try .
  4. Ok, started with 300 mains and stock pilots. Lifted the needle one notch, (4th front blunt end). Air screws 1-3 turns out and it seems to be idling higher than normal. Tors are removed and idle screws have been installed. Didnt have this problem until the pipes were put on. Any ideas? **Idle speed is about 2500RPM, 1000 or so too high.
  5. Blue Duece, I know you've been asked time and time again, but where did you get that temp gauge? Thanks.
  6. I bought one off ebay for $30. It looks identical to the Prodesign for 1/2 the price. I dont see another one listed but you can try to contact him Ebay Id: banshee21098. Took me about 45min to install but could probably be done in as little as 30min.
  7. What type of racing?
  8. Being that this isnt a highend pipe, I'm assuming the mains do not need to be increased more than two sizes if at all. Is this correct? I'm thinking larger pilots and lifted needles will probably be more effective. I have two sets of pipes which I'm going to compare: MF 2:1 and SSTs. (Yes, I am aware they are completely different pipes.) Right now only engine mods are a Noss adapter w/K&N, snorkle removed, 40:1, sealevel and possibly cut the airbox lid 1.5". I think I've gotten a good point to start jetting the SSTs with the help of the PROs, but I'm lost with the MotoFast. Thanks.
  9. If I'm not mistaken, the microfisch is for parts references only, not a repair manual.
  10. I think certain townships across the country have instated laws allowing ATVs for use around town. There is at least one street legal banshee here on Long Island. Originally it had a single rear wheel (motorcycle style) with the stock motor. Then was converted back to four wheels with an R1 motor.
  11. Alot of people think I'm crazy when I say this but all machines have personalities. Treat it how you'd like to be treated... I wouldn't use any cheap oil but thats just me. Obviously in a binde, any oil is better than no oil.
  12. I wouldnt say gas is gas. I never go to small "no name" stations if I can help it. The smaller stations dont use gas as quickly, some of it can sit around for awhile. Like most other things, the stuff people have had most luck with in terms of premix oil isnt expensive at all i.e. Castor, Amsoil, Motul etc.. I say stick to name brand synthetics and buy extra.
  13. Dont ride in the dirt either... your clothes will get dirty.
  14. Six guys wheeling on pavement with no helmets.... oh man .

  16. It limits the throttle, in its unscrewed positon the throttle is unlimited. Pop off the cover and have a look.
  17. The highest temp in the system is the one that is important. That would be the engine outlet to radiator line.
  18. Maybe he lives in a crator .
  19. The handle bars are stock, I will double check the routing.
  20. So I installed this kit from Vito's but seem to be having a problem with the throttle cable. In order to get the correct amount of free play at the throttle, all three adjusters are turned pretty far out. Now as this cable stretches, there isnt going to be much room left for adjustment. Is it possible I was sent the kit fo the twist throttle? How much longer would that cable be?
  21. Eight mile track? Thats a long race.
  22. The days or using R12 and a torch are over... penetrating really helps even if it has to sit for awhile.
  23. Be prepared to get beat up .
  24. Which lever?
