  1. hello, i live in troy and i usually ride on the outskirts. im having the same prob. i ride alot of powerlines cause alot of the trails are if not getting closed down are old and ive been looking for a place to ride other then my usualls for a while now
  2. will the ez off oven cleaner still work even if the pipes are trip. nick coated(fmf sst)
  3. i picked up the whole front brake system, master cylinder down to the calipers for $50 on ebay. they work great. i also have the ss brake lines and wave rotors. the whole set up even without the rotors is a world of difference compared to the stockers.
  4. I just put front brake calipers on from a 05 450 and they bolted on with no problem couldnt believe it and they work great. stops the quad quick and dont even need alot of pressure but anyway im getting sick of the old rear brake caliper its all beat up and outdated if you ask me, but i noticed that most quads have a similar set up as far as the caliper. Is there any aftermarket performance rear calipers out there. I know i seen one a while ago on the internet some where and can't find it anymore
  5. I have the blue tribal flames from alba. I think that kit is one of the best looking graphic kits out there for the banshee besides the skin kit. I seen a black shee with the tribal flames and it looked pretty sick. I would go with the tribal flames or the skin kit
  6. I had the same prob. a couple of months ago. I tried a 1" bolt and two nuts that would fit in where the bearing is but it didn't work that thing was on there for the long haul. My next idea worked though I took a dremel with a cutting bit and just cut through the bearing and only the bearing to releave the stress and it turned out by hand after that. So I would try one of those things. good luck
  7. Hello, idk if this is gonna help you out at all, but I went from a fully ported banshee motor with several mods and it was great, except for the fact that you had to be wide open all the time to get the power you wanted there really wasn't any putting around. I ride mostly trails and i know that you want the power there whenever you need. Last year I blew everything up: cases, crank, pistons, cylinders, cool head domes. I was debating on the cheetah or the cub and from what I understand you can get the same amount of power out of each. the cubs dont have any pv and you can use stock head and intake system. the cheetah is a little more expensive but only because of the pv and you upgrade to 250R intakes. you can get the cheetah w'o the pv and have a block off plate on there for 1000 dollars less. but ill tell you with the pv it feels like a second power band. through the trails i can sit in 3rd and keep up with anything and when i need to I dont even have to switch gears or go wide open with no bogging all the power i need to smoke what ever is in front of me with no problem at all and ill be long past them when i switch to 4th and etc. in my opinion it is a powerful motor and im only running 93oct in it there really made for race fuel or somthing along them lines. a couple of months ago my buddy who owns a bunch of land and cleared a 1/2 mile stretch of land and when i was riding around his track I seen the crazy bastard humming around on his polaris 800 twin snowmobile. he asked me if i wanted to race so I figured what the hell. I really didn't think that i had a chance and the first run i got a ruff and rutty line so he blew me a way i couldn't get any traction and my quad was hitting all kinds of ruts throughing me everywhere. he smoked my buddy on his stock shee too. I raced him again picking a smoother line and I leaned back a little this time and he was winning by about a 1/2 a quad length and we came neck and neck when I hit 4th and by the time i was gonna hit 5th and the pv really kicked in I was passing him. I switched to 5th and after that i was gone and he had no chance in catching up. this was just stock banshee gearing If you are gonna do a aftermarket cylinder kit I would def. suggest getting either the cub or the cheetah with a 4mm stroke, but if you have the money I would def. go with the cheetah with pv. plus you have to remember you can do alot with the cheetah or cub as far as performance goes.
  8. nice, let me know if you go im always looking for some places to go. i got four friends all with banshees and im sure they'd love it
  9. there both good machines but i would say a banshee. you can do so much more to a banshee. i've been riding a banshee's for about 7yrs now and have owned 3 of them. my most recent is a 2000 that i had minor mods to it and loved it riding anywhere. i just put a cheetah 421 with powervalves in it and i love it even more especially on the roads and in the trails
  10. thats sweet im from the troy area. i have a friend that owns a lot of land with a little graval pit that we turned into a decent little track but riding in the same place all the time kinda sucks do you know anywhere a little closer to albany, around there
  11. im from upstate ny and the trails around where i live are becoming blocked off everywhere i go. and im starting to get annoyed with having to keep moving cut down trees. anyone know of any good places to tear in ny, or if there is any runs going on come spring time
  12. yeah thats what it is smash lab idk when its on i just happen to catch it one night it seems like a pretty cool show
  13. has anybody seen the new show on the discovery channel? Idk what it is called but i know its a show about destroying things. i watched it the other day and they blew up a normal mid-size truck by putting a bunch of dynomite on the rear axle. the bed blew to pieces and the biggest piece of the bed went about 150ft straight up. it was pretty sick. they said that the explosion would be like a bus hitting the truck at 400mph. they then took another normal mid-size truck, except this one had rino lining sprayed on the bed and used the same amount of explossives in the same place and the bed was perfectly intackt with minor dents on the bottom of the bed. that rino lining seems like some pretty strong shit. it was cool to see.
  14. i heard the same thing too. Ive been riding banshees for about 7 years now and im on my third one. Ive been racing down the roads for the whole time going to parties, trail to trail, running from troopers and sheriffs, etc. I just try to let off every now and again. I havn't had any problems yet. hopefully i didnt just jinx myself lol
  15. thats awsome, thanks. im gonna pick up a set as soon as i can
  16. i was thinking about cutting my silancers down about a inch or so, so that the tips stop scraping when i flip. and i was hoping for a new more louder sound. has anybody done this or know if it will damage the engine or affect any engine performance or if it is even worth it
  17. does anybody know if yzf 450 front brake calipers fit or can be mod. to fit on a banshee?
  18. I'm thinking about getting the cheetah 421 kit for the shee over the winter. Trinity racing, when i talked to them about the kit they told me that their stage 5 pipe and silancer was recommended to be the best performing pipe/silancer for the engiine kit. Does anybody have any suggestions or opinions on which pipe/silancer would be the best choice for this particular engine kit?
  19. has anybody with the v-force3 reeds had or tried the v-force2 reeds and if so what is the difference
  20. I'm thinking of going with an aftermarket cylinder with powervalves, but i'm not sure which one to go with. I talked with trinity and they said that the 421 kit will push out 115hp on race fuel and you have to use race fuel. Thats with a 4mm crank. I dont really know any thing about the t-rex kit except they use cylinder sleeves. Does anybody have either of these kits and if so how is it. what is a better kit to buy
  21. easy draw the shape of the fender you want and then use a dremal with a cutting bit and cut away. like sandstar said, take a torch to the edges of the fenders and it will make it look factory, sort of. I also found that if your plastics have any stress marks in them from roll overs, take the torch to the spot. don't hold it on there for as long as the fender edges. you dont want to melt any of the plastic. here some pics. http://community.webshots.com/user/shee4202
  22. I just bought a 2000 bone stock. I put fmf sst, boyson pro reeds, spacers, kn filter, 4 degree timing key. I also bought the cool head and the people at alba action told me to use 21cc domes. I use 93 pump gas and it runs great no problem.
  23. I had the trips on my old 89. I thought that they worked pretty good except I only had the fronts. To get all the performance out of them you have to do shocks all around
  24. I know that rossier engineering does it for around $100
