  1. These are perfect for that but small flange. $600 shipped. Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  2. What are you running them on? What flange size? I have some Chrome Super Cub Shearers out the left side. Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  3. Carl will take care of ya. He cut my pro mod and just bench testing it is the smoothest shifting trans I've ever had. Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  4. I know where he got the domes and they should be right, but I haven't seen them. I've guided him the best I can with the information given to me. He said he had a small air leak on 1 intake, but it's backing both plugs out. I told him any air leak is bad, but both sides shouldn't suffer... Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  5. Well I ask that because the theory makes sense. Also, I sold a good 421 top end to a guy that for some reason now has a pretty high squish clearance (0.058", I think) and now he's backing out plugs left and right. It had a tighter clearance when I had it due to different dome and/or base gasket. I've heard of/seen where too little clearance leads to deto due to increased MSV, but not to much on a high clearance causing issues. Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  6. RU - what squish clearance is too big? Is 0.060" too much on a 58mm x 68mm motor? I know its not optimal, but do you think it leads to deto? Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  7. I know a guy that has some 35 mm PWKs. I sold him some 39 mm alky carbs so I'm sure he'd sell the gas 35s. There are a few carbs where the floats are on pins like that. Lectron and Mikuni TMs. Both good carbs. Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  8. Fwiw there is a used head for sale on here somewhere. I saw it earlier. Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  9. For sure Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  10. Deto for sure. Borrow a scope and look or pull the pipe and feel of piston crown and ring land, etc. Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  11. I figure you torqued it in order and to spec since you seem to know more about this than most new Banshee guys. Good luck and keep us posted. Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  12. Water caused deto or deto caused the water. I'm sure the head was torqued, right? Any loose or stripped studs? (Still leaning toward bad dome angle though) And I think you mentioned those orings not being able to seal that much pressure. A very smart guy years ago told me that the face of the dome clamped down is what seals in compression, and the oring is just to keep water out. That makes better sense to me than a little piece of viton holding up to the heat and pressure of combustion. Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  13. I'd say your covered there then. And those seem to be factory gears anyway. Pretty sure the Hinson gear sets are all straight cut. It looks like you're pointed in the right direction. Too much timing, too little octane, convergent squish angle - all contributing factors. Probably not even an air leak, but test anyway. Does the underside of the piston show any heat? What do the plugs look like? So far there is really no sign of deto there. The water probably just put the flame out. Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  14. Is your primary gear OEM or the Hinson one? Aftermarket ones are notorious for leaking past the seal. A few globs of Yamabond on the key will fix it if that is the case. I've blown more than one oring and always had piston crown and dome damage. I was not able to tell what happened first though...the broken oring or deto. You have no pitting on your piston or dome. 15. www.nossmachine.com for head and domes, or builder of your choice. Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  16. I'd add that they are cheap ($65 a set) and can be at your door in 1 to 2 days. Even if I had the tooling and know how I still wouldn't make my own for what they cost. Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  17. It's not recommended to ceramic coat but I don't think you'll notice much if any performance difference. FWIW my record holding 650 cc has ceramic coated pipes. Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  18. No piston crown damage? Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  19. Just have Thacker put a Composite T999er Grade Aluminum-unobtanium Specially Modified Radiator and High Performance 6969 CFM AC/DC 47v Hybrid Fan on it. Duh! Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  20. Am I missing it or did you say what fuel you're running? Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  21. Here ya go. Nothing on that gauge though. Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  22. It was dynoed with worn out pistons. I've been through it since then. It's never a bad idea to put new ones in though. I have a spare piston or 2 that go with it. Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  23. The entire bike is for sale for $10k. It needs some transmission repair that will cost $250. Besides that it's fine. Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  24. Buy my Scimitar. 180 hp and 100 ft*lbs on wore out pistons and a stingy dyno. Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
  25. Just got this in. What a coincidence. However, he was supposed to send some bigger fittings for 39mm carbs. But no big deal now that I have these parts I can just go by the hardware store and show them what I need. I've never built one of these my self because I don't know what this stuff is called or where to look for it. Sent from my STV100-1 using Tapatalk
