  1. I actually had to dremel out the inside of the the tail pipe and heat it to get it on the freakin header securely.
  2. I remember reading somewhere that 0.020 or 0.030 was about the limit due to the squish clearance.
  3. I only half ass cleaned them at first b/c a screw was stripped :baseball_bat: . I now have taken the carb off and removed all jets, air screw and choke and thoroughly cleaned. Both plugs are new and gapped at 0.18 (too narrow, I know now from reading other posts.) So on the floats...........I can just set them so they only shut the gas off before it overflows? That's kinda what I thought. The float valve is still springy, but not enough to hold the float up w/the carb upside down. Switching the carbs is my next step if this doesn't work. Thanks
  4. Stock brake line will work on +4 swinger. I've got the stocker on my +6. I ordered a longer one, but didn't need it.
  5. Assuming your jetting is perfect now, I'm pretty sure you need to go up a size on the mains when you advance the timing. The fly wheel has no effect...................and 93 octane is fine.
  6. On the 2006 Banshee in my sig, carbs are sync'd, both sides getting fuel, both sides running in neutral but when the motor is under a load, the right side only fires intermittently up to 1/4 throttle, then it kicks in and and screams. I swapped plug wires, no change. I've tried 52 pilots and 48 pilots, no change. I half ass cleaned out the carb through the opening on the bottom of the bowl. (I couldn't get the bowl off at that time.) No change. I've now got the carb clean as can be. I'm not sure what the float height should be. When I turn the carb upside down, the float rests all the way down in the carb, regardless of how it is bent. Is that normal? Is the float valve supposed to hold the float up? Gravity just pushes the float valve all the way in. Now I've messed with the bend and don't want to put it back together until I get some opinions. Thanks
  7. I agree. On my stocker w/ similar mods (except I still have a box/no lid.) I've ran 340s to 360s at 300ft and 95+ temp. Fouled plugs w/ 360s, runs great w/340s. When the temp falls, I'll put 350s or 360s back in.
  8. I was wondering the same....about marking the chain the sprocket. hellride96 I agree with the sprocket hub theory. Mine is a 2006, though. That shouldn't happen on mine.
  9. It sounds like the clutch IS slipping. Make sure the cable is not too tight. As far as the oil, it sounds like you may have a little antifreeze in it. It would be like milk if you had a lot of water in the case, though.
  10. For wide open trails, it's a blast. If you have to start and stop and turn and all that, it sucks. and yeah, mine's stock stroke. In the sand w/paddles I can spot my mildly modded YFZ a ridiculous number of bike lengths in 300 ft or longer.
  11. HELL YES!!!!! As long as you get it to hook and keep the front end down.
  12. I noticed a similar problem with mine. It felt like the chain jumped a tooth occasionally when I romped on it accross rough sand, but there's little chance that happened on mine b/c chain tension is perfect, brand new carrier, sprockets, etc. It didn't happen from a dead stop on smooth ground what so ever. I concluded that my sprocket has to be occasionally dragging the ground over bumps..I don't know. If your skid plate is intact, then that couldn't be your problem.
  13. 100 percent normal.
  14. Jeff @ F.A.S.T. has all of the above I believe. If I had it to do over I'd go with a 4 mil 68mm bore. I would think (not sure) that aftermarket 4 mil cranks would be trued and welded already. T5s or CPIs would probably be great pipes for your riding style.
  15. I'd think it would be ok...................I'm the boss!
  16. Yeah...I can take that out. I'd like to ask the same of the one's will all the pics. I like to look at most of them, but it looks bad when I'm at work with big tits all over the screen.
  17. My (terribly jetted) 68 mm stock stroke cub got beat twice by a Banshee with Jeff's dune port, stock stroke, stock carbs. I beat him the third time but he got a hell of a hole shot, running 11 paddle haulers. I adusted my jetting, but didn't get to run him again. He shouldn't have been near as close to me as he was. I outweighed him by 50 lbs and I was just getting the hang of taking off with my new 10 paddle extremes. However, the motor was damn impressive considering he had stock carbs!!!!!!
  18. Yeah,..sorry about that :ninja: . It was such a similar question that I had to ask. I think the original poster has enough info make a decision on the sprocket, though.
  19. I thought you could just plug the vent tubes? If not, I need to open mine back up
  20. Just to let ya'll know; I used a big flathead screw driver and cut them apart. No tire damage, everything's cool.
  21. Yeah, in the front the slides should be damn near shut all the way. Towards the airbox, there is a cut away portion that doesn't go all the way down.
  22. :baseball_sleep: duhhhhhhhhhhh . Hell I've had a billion hours of chemistry, physics, etc. Gasoline is a non-polar, hydrocarbon substance and won't substantially mix with a polar substance i.e. H2O. I guess I asked the question, b/c if their is a little moisture in your actual GAS TANK that is a bad thing. But the gas is churning and intermingling with the water wich can "mix" long enough to enter the carb; which won't happen in a fuel drum that is sitting still. Damn how quick you forget the most basic shit sometimes. :yelrotflmao: Thanks.
  23. A. I haven't checked them (stupid, yeah I know). I have oil on my silencers, so I assume I'm at least rich enough. B. That IS a big tire (and it swells up even taller at higher speeds to probably a 23 or 4..maybe that's part of it) but the 22x11x8 10 paddle extremes that I'm going to run are the same size. That's mainly why I asked about the 15t. My Cubs are stock stroke if that matters, Thanks :baseballcap_blue:
  24. Well I would think so too, but with 22'' 4-snows (reversed) it seems like it doesn't pull 6th gear on dirt. But maybe I wasn't winding 5th out far enough. The CPIs are difficult for me to tell when it stops pulling, or if its spinning or whatever. It could be spinning it's balls off in 5th, then dive when it hits 6th and hooks!? Or maybe my jetting is way off. 52p,165m, clip in middle, needle taper=??, elev 300ft, temp 90+.
  25. Not to hijack this thread too much, but could I run a 15t on my Cub Banshee (mods in sig) w/ 22x11x8 10 paddle skat trak extremes? I'll be riding it at St. Joe State Park in MO. It's a sand-like dirt. Its the crap that's left over after they stripped the iron mines there. I'll have to remove a link in my chain to put a 14t on.
