Well that is good to know Meat. And you are right. We are evolving. Into who, what, where, when and why? I know which way I am evolving. Do you know which way you are evolving or are you just dust in the wind? I guarantee your physical body as you know it is just dust in the wind. The bible says that ultimately your life will pass before you like a VAPOR. That means that you think that you have all of this time, but ask any old person and they will say "Holy sh!t where did the time go?" So what do you think happens to your spark of life since science says that energy can only be transduced from one state to another i.e nuclear energy into heat into electricity into your computer into the wisdom of God, and a little waste heat byproduct left over in the process.

Yep, and the many early Christians who had nothing of this world to gain yet gave their LIFE for what they knew in their heart to be TRUE were just telling a story too. Just like helldriver said, the bible is just a story. Why don't you ignorant asses DEFINE what a "story" is ? Clinton said it depends on what your definition of the word is is. Maybe he's right.

1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. 4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. 6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. 7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. 8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. 10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. 12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. 13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. 15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. 16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. 17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. 19 We love him, because he first loved us. 20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? 21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

I only trace the lines that flow from God.--Albert Einstein With every new answer unfolded, science has consistently discovered at least three new questions.--Wernher von Braun No sciences are better attested than the religion of the Bible.--Isaac Newton Disillusioned by the uses men made of science, Albert Einstein said not long before his death that if he could live again, he would choose to be a plumber rather than a physicist. If we could solve all the mysteries of the Universe, we would be co-equal with God. Every drop of ocean shares its glory but is not the ocean.--Mahatma Ghandi "I, William Shakespeare, of Stratford-upon-Avon, in the county of Warrick, gentleman in perfect health & memory. God be praised, do make & ordain this my last will & testament in manner & form following, that is to say, first, I commend my soul into the hands of God, my Creator, hoping & assuredly believing, through the only merits of Jesus Christ, my Saviour, to be made partaker of life everlasting, and my body to the Earth whereof it is made." I marvel that whereas the ambitious dreams of myself, Caesar, & Alexander should have vanished into thin air, a Judean peasant--Jesus--should be able to stretch His hands across the centuries & control the destinies of men & nations.--Napoleon In my youth, science was more important to me than either man or God. I worshipped science. Its advance had surpassed man's wildest dreams. It took many years for me to discover that science, with all its brilliance, lights only a middle chapter of Creation. I saw the aircraft I love destroying the civilization I expected it to save. Now I understand that spiritual truth is more essential to a nation than the mortar in its cities' walls. For when the actions of a people are undergirded by spiritual truths, there is safety. When spiritual truths are rejected, it is only a matter of time before civilization will collapse. We must understand spiritual truths & apply them to our modern life. We must draw strength from the almost forgotten virtues of simplicity, humility, contemplation & prayer. It requires a dedication beyond science, beyond self, but the rewards are great & it is our only hope.--Charles Lindbergh About 1,000 A.C. the tomb was opened by the Emperor Otho. They found the skeleton of Charlemagne, dissolved & dismembered into various hideous postures. The skull was still wearing the crown. And the bony finger of the skeleton was pointing to the verse of Scripture, "For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?" (Mat.16:26) The various relics were collected & used in the coronation of the emperors of Germany to signify their greatness & succession from Charlemagne. When Christ calls me Home I shall go with the gladness of a boy bounding away from school.--Adoniram Judson The most important thought I ever had was that of my individual responsibility to God.--Daniel Webster The need of the World is to listen to God.--Albert Einstein There is but one question of the hour: How to bring the Truth of God's Word into vital contact with the minds & hearts of all classes of people.--William Gladstone. It will surprise you & touch your heart when you see it--the epitaph on the gravestone of George Washington. As you approach the grave, you may imagine that it will take a big stone to mark properly the resting place of this tremendous man. And on that stone you will expect many striking truths concerning this giant of history. He was the Commanding General of the Continental Armies, the First President of the United States, & the Father of his Country. But you will likely be a little awed when at last you look down upon the small, plain stone that marks his grave. On that stone is engraved the name George Washington, the date of his birth & the date of his death. And at the bottom of the stone are these words: "Jesus said, I am the Resurrection & the Life; he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live" (John 11:25). (My) great joy and glory that, in occupying an exalted position in the nation, I am enabled, to preach the practical moralities of The Bible to my fellow-countrymen and to hold up Christ as the hope and Savior of the world.--Theodore Roosevelt Had the doctrines of Jesus been preached always as pure as they came from his lips, the whole civilized world would now have been Christian.--Thomas Jefferson

The bible just tells how it is. God has given us a plan of salvation and plenty of warning of how the end will come. What more do you need?

10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. 15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; This is not God's final perfected promised land. It says so right there. You probably won't be around to bash on God there. Ironically, you wouldn't have a reason to.

1 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance: 2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour: 3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. 5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: 6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: 7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. 8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; 16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. 17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. 18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

Ok there keyboard tough guy, whatever you say.

I just want to thank Shee-Male for bringing some credibility (at least initially lol) and some clarity to this whole matter. You guys have presented your argument very well, but it still boils down to this: #1 you say we are just one step above a monkey while at the SAME time you say #2 we are the supreme being of the infinite universe, even though you can in no way prove that, that is just your belief and therefore that is were your faith lies. In a nutshell, that is your argument no matter how you slice it. Thanks to Sheemale now we see that it is not just one or two twisted elviras, but also some semi-normal "joes" with a mortgage and mouths to feed. It is now very clear to see that one side accepts a message of love and tolerance while the other side FEEDS on a message of F-god, hate and violence and the only thing that MIGHT keep them in line is their fear of maybe going to jail. IMO, you guys who hate God have simply had it too good for too long. Christianity BUILT this comfy world you live in, you pathetic ingrates. Also, alot of people in this world come across times in their lives when they might not have enough to eat or even have a roof over their head. It is good when those people, at unfortunate times in their lives, have a little bit more moral guidance to base their actions on than just their fear of maybe going to jail, which for them may be a big improvement in their living conditions. I would prefer that they would maybe concider seeking a church supported shelter or the help of some other Christian outreach program instead hurting someone I love. I'm no stranger to troubles in my life and I've done things I'm not proud of but as I grow I do strive and hope to be better and I take comfort in the fact that, since I see evidence of God in this Universe, the Bible says that all those who choose to, can present Jesus in their heart to the Almighty as an offering of the perfect nature which we should have, but we have not. Shee-male, if you want to be an upstanding father for your child, you may want to concider tossing out the death metal. It's about time you grew out of that childish phase anyway don't you think? Have you already told your little boy that you or him or his mom could accidentally be killed any day (you never know) and that you are all just worm food? Did you tell him that you want him to keep his faith in the worm food theory no matter what he may hear or feel about God in his heart? Why don't you tell him what science has proven, which is that energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be transduced (change of state) and that our life energy may very well live on. Give the boy a little hope for God's sake.

The lordess hereby christens thee, elvira!!! I think we should make that a sticky. Deuce with the ace!!! Elvira you crack me up. The Bible is too violent for you, even though the overall message is perfect and positive, but you think Slayer, KataKlysm, Vader...they know where it's at. Here is a little Slayer for those who are unfamiliar: Other than that...what deuce said!!!

After Forever (including The Elegy) (5:25) Have you ever thought about your soul? Can it be saved? Or perhaps you think that when you are dead you just stay in your grave. Is God just a thought within your head or is he a part of you? Is Christ just a name that you read in a book when you were in school? When you think about death do you lose your breath or do you keep your cool? Would you like to see the Pope on the end of a rope? Do you think he's a fool? (Well/Will) I see the truth. Yes I've seen the light and I've changed my ways. And I'll be prepared when you're lonely and scared at the end of our days. Could it be you're afraid of what your friends might say If they knew you believed in God above? They should realize before they criticize that God is the only way to love. Is your mind so small that you have to fall In with the pack wherever they run? Will you still sneer when death is near And say that you may as well worship the sun. I think it is true it was people like you that crucified Christ I think it is sad the opinion you had was the only one voiced. Will you be so sure when your day is near say you don't believe? You had the chance but you turned it down (now/no) you can't retrieve. Perhaps you think before you say God is dead and gone Open your eyes, just realize that he is the one, The only one who can save you now from all this sin and hate. Or will you jeer at all you hear? Yes! I think it's too late. Black Sabbath-Master of Reality Benu-nanu-bena-bena-nuna OH YEAH!

Yes sir. No doubt about it. Works great. I run alky through my carbs and spray with 118 race gas. You can use methanol for your enrichener if you want, just make sure that your fuel pump is designed for it and run about a 10 jet spread.

"Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me.... I once was lost but now am found, Was blind, but now, I see." It's a big race weekend. Memorial weekend. Before the start of the NASCAR Coca Cola 600 today they sang Amazing Grace. Thanks for your help getting the Word out helldriver.

IMO the religious leaders at the time of Jesus had already perverted the old TESTament of God and were using it to build a ruling class/servant class society, while being hypocrites to their own laws...very much like today. The good and the evil of mans heart is perfectly inter-twined in the old TESTament as a means of preserving mans free will while at the same time, maintaining Gods purpose of refining us. In the old TESTament, I see Gods mercy more than I see his judgement. Jesus came as the old testament prophesied and was crucified for revealing that the ruling class were using religion to enslave us to their man made laws, and preached that all of the law and the prophets could be summed up like this "love the Lord God with all of your heart and all of your soul and all of your mind, and your neighbor as yourself." With that I see that I must first love myself before I can love my neighbor, and therefore also before I can love God. We are all a work in progress. Or you can love God first and ultimately learn to love yourself. It works both ways.

Oh, I didn't know you double posted . I'm headed out to the garage. I'll talk to you later hair splitter.

I'm not avoiding your questions but as I'm sure you understand, #1 helldriver is too beligerant and once again posted a mass of atheist (people without understanding) cut/paste info and his profane manner makes it undesirable to continue. Like I said though your splitting hairs and missing the message but this is exactly how Gods Word is meant to work. #2 I'm actually trying to get my bike back together still so I can ride this weekend. I request a recess.

We should have a steel cage death match with the smartest man on earth vs the current reigning UFC champion to find out who the true god of the universe is LOL. Helldriver, your view is that we are only one small step above a monkey yet we are the brightest thing this UNIVERSE (infinite ) has EVER seen. I still find it so fitting that you chose the screen name "helldriver".

I hate to say it but your statement that they didn't have good record keeping just exemplefies your ignorance. You should do a little research on Egyptian and Babylonian history (for one), instead of uttering non-sense. Of course they didn't have the internet but the prophecy of Daniel does tell of the great increase in trasportation and communication, long before anyone could conceive of the internet or combustion engines etc... I don't have the time to pick apart all of your source material but if you would like to pick out, one at a time, perceived contradictions in the Bible, we would be glad to address them point by point, if you will give us time to respond.
-
I agree, that is a good find warwagon. However, I must place the scriptural references you noted into the correct context of what is actually written in the Bible regarding "prophets" and "miracle workers" that will arise. For example, Deut. 13:3 actually says "3you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams, for the Lord your God is testing you to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul."
-
Your splitting hairs and missing the spiritual message in the process. Personally I have no problem believing that the earth may be 4.5 billion years old. I have no idea how long 6days is to God because I don't know how long God's "day" is. I know that he was referring to His "days" before he created the sun so I know his "day" is not 24hrs like ours.
