  1. you put a 1465 hooper in what? I know what this motor will do in a race sled, but in a drag bike? insane.
  2. To be honest as I have built a well set up trail machine, don't try building it yourself, it will cost a lot of to setup a banshee to handle good one trails. Check out mine in the for sale section. I spent a lot and cant even get $4000 for it. Banshee cost a lot because a lot of the stock parts could not withstand the abuse with the rocky conditions in the Appalachian regions. Not to mention the stock a-arms, suspension, and shocks are horrible. I recommend buying one already setup, you will save a lot of money. I continuously had problems with the adjustment built working loose on the swingarm no matter how much a tighten them and is why I bought a laeger from a guy on here. I was also able to get nice one piece GPR steering stabilizer w/ handle bar clamps that really helps over rough rocky terrain. As other members stated, advancing timing, shaving heads will really help. Since banshees need air in the radiator, I also flushed coolant and use engine ice and put a billet impeller to help in tight wooded conditions for lower speeds. Geared down also for this.
  3. +1 Frankthetank, funny how people make untactful comments then get a$$ hurt when someone calls them out on it, I would've expected more from a "HQ General"
  4. The gauge is a temp gauge measuring coolant in the return coolant hose back to the radiator. It is hooked into a homemade fitting made from copper plumbing fittings.
  5. Also a video of quad running, yes i know the kick starter rattles. $4000 is my bottom dollar. http://youtu.be/t6psXfG_JVc?list=UUJH5jox2CL2RtvsSgpg6gmg
  6. Title now in hand (had to get new one made), this weekend is not good time to test ride, but next weekend is or anytime there after as my buddy who is storing it is retired and is home during the week. He will have the signed title, bill of sale, and all extra sets of wheels next weekend for any buyers.
  7. I was also just in the garage and forgot that I still have a full set of sand shark paddles on rims for it still from my days of riding at Winchester Bay, OR. Whoever buys it can have those also, so that's three sets of tires and wheels (2 sets are Hipers).
  8. I don't know where the stock carbs went but do not have them. motor work was done by local guy in Hibbing, mn that builds modified and late model motors in stock cars. The quad runs great, you will just need to test ride it to know it runs well for a trail bike.
  9. Found the original paperwork from the dealership and had an application for a title, but no title in envelope. Will try and request replacement title tomorrow.
  10. NYCMarine, Thank you for the headsup. if the quad doesn't sell for $4000, I will keep it and upgrade suspension/a-arms and look at swapping the inner alum. A lot of money tied up and was used very little after all the parts and motor work was done. I sold my LT-R and buyer wanted the set of beadlocks for MX and not GNCC, thus why I still have the Hipers from the LT-R.
  11. My bottom is $4000 for this quad, otherwise will be brought back to MN in a year for my dad to race the neighbor kids on 4-strokes.
  12. Ummm let me check but i think I do, they have the tors removal kit in them. I will check within the week.
  13. You can buy mine for 4K that i just posted for sale in another thread, but nothing lower, and wont help with delivery, quad is located in Atglen, PA just East of Lancaster.
  14. Thank you, i forgot to mention the machine work on the head was done by a local guy that builds motors for modified and late model stock cars that run the wissota series. Quad runs strong.
  15. Well time to sell the banshee. I spent alot of money building this and am the original owner, quad was bought brand new when i was stationed in Tacoma, WA. I will also give an extra set of hiper carbon fiber beadlocks from my LTR 450. The front wont fit the banshee but the backs will and have only one ride on the ITP GNCC tires already mounted on them. You can sell the fronts on your own then. Looking for $4500 for everything the way the quad sits. I never clipped the light switch either but rather mounted it on the frame behind the radiator and can access easily though the tank plastic. The quad is at my buddies place just outside Atglen, PA and will need to coordinate with him to test ride/view. Pretty sure I have the original paperwork laying around from WA state. My number is 7 zero 3 seven 8 five 4 five 4 nine. If someone wants to pay for a great running banshee great, but do not need to sell, just giving someone the opportunity to save money and use it as I am not. Thank you Tim. 2004 Yamaha Banshee LE (Original Owner) Adjustable Stator Plate, V Force series 2 reeds, UM pro peg nerf bars, Roll Design Anti-Vibe Steering Stem, GPR Steering Dampener, Tag T2 Handlebars, ASR +2 A-arms, Pro-racer tie rods, Extended steel braided brake lines, AC font skid and AC rear skid plate, FMF fatties w/ powercore 2 silencers, E-brake block off kit, Trinity 2-in-1 carburator kit (35mm PWK), AC front bumper, +4 LSR axle, LSR sprocket/brake hub, LSR axle locknut, hide-a-key ignition relocator, K&N air filter w/ pro design adapter plate, Engine ice coolant, Elka front shocks w/o rezzies, All balls axle/bearing kit, Cyrca barkbuster hand guards, Hiper Tech carbon fiber beadlock wheels, ITP GNCC Front and ITP XCR Rear tires, Barnett Clutch kit with Terry Cable easy pull clutch cable, shaved head and trail port and polish, lightweight weiseco pistons, ASV Clutch Lever, Terry Cable dual gasser Thumb/Twist throttle, Regina Sprocket (14/41) and chain kit, Laeger Swing arm w/ MODQUAD axle housing, MODQUAD dip stick, brake res. cover. 16. By the way be patient and wait for used stuff to come up for sale on the forums when people part out.
  17. I went with +2 a-arms and compensated a bit on the offset for a targeted width of around 49". Another aftermarket part that has paid dividends is the dual gasser, which went right on with the a OEM throttle cable. It is hard to say how much I have spent, but I know it was expensive. The GPR was $600 alone. I recommend figuring out the direction you are going, researching the parts you will specifically buy and make a list.
  18. Good call on the PRM, When i raced harescrambles (On my LT-R) the Pro Armor and Armadillo (I dragged this one 2 laps) didnt last one race, they both broke at the welds, The PRM is great, the chassis skid takes less of a beating, i never used a-arm skids and never had a problem
  19. I used to race D6 alittle back in 2007 in WV, PA, I had a blast but then the military moved me to AK unfortunately. Hopefully I will be back in a couple years. They only have MX here and is taking a toll on me. I miss harescrambles. One advantage is I am getting better on bikes since i am not really into MX much.
  20. Never had a problem with a overheating banshee, I have the billet impeller not because i was afraid it would break but to increase coolant flow. I also run the engine ice in both my quads and inline coolers in the hi temp CV4 radiator hoses (on my LTR 450). My Bro-in-law also made me a copper fitting (from plumbing fittings) for the return radiator hose where I was able to hook up a standard automotive temp gauge that gives you the no $hit collant temp so if it gets to hot, take a break. I mounted the temp gauge next to the radiator shroud on the front plastic near the plastic fastener to watch it while i ride.
  21. Peterlocal22, here are the pics, just had a mild port and polish, bored cylinders, and vito's light weight pistons put in last month also. Sorry for the delay, I am deployed in the middle east right now. Enjoy. Tim Some dated pics
  22. Washburn is correct, i did the same thing he just said, I invested in the chassis first then the motor. A banshee is plenty fast the way it is with just pipes, an intake, and reeds. The thing i didnt like about the banshee was the chassis and handling. It handles great now with the set up I have.
  23. Yeah probably the most technical cource for me was the Rausch Creek Nat'l Harescramble in PA. That race beat me down. Alot of machines also, there were almost 30 in my class. i did well considering i rolled my machine in alittle ravine and couldnt get it flipped back over. I ended up finshing 6th after the crash. I have yet to race a harescramble that was smooth, it wouldnt be a harescramble without the teeth jarring rock beads and technical sections. When i move back to the east coast i will be happy t race them again, unfortunately Alaska doesnt have harescrambles. When i do start racing them again i will get tireballs, pretty bad i still get flats with beadlocks. the job keeps me away from racing alot so thats why i couldnt race last year since I was in AZ all summer and now overseas.
  24. i can sympathize, my banshee wears me out three times as fast as my 450. If your looking at a new throttle, just buy the dual gasser, if your thumb gets tired start using the twist throttle. I love it. Depending on how much your willing to spend, the flexx bars are nice i have on my 450 and want them on my banshee, but would be to high since I already have my GPR mounted on the steering stem. Oh how i miss harescambles, looked like a blast.
