Buy a used one that someone has put a bunch of goodies on & needs to dump.
Nobody rides a stock Banshee anyway.
I have done it both ways & considering they have been pretty much exactly the same since 87 you would be a fool to buy a new one.
Just so you know pipes will be $600 right from the start.
And you gotta have pipes!
I replaced my clutch & everything works good.
The problem is in my cable.
I purchased a brand new Vitos cable thinking my adjuster bolt on the handle bars would go farther in due to a non stretched cable.
After I set it all up my adjuster bolt is still only 3/8" into the perch.
Everything works fine but it seems like I should have more room for future adjustment.
Any help would be appreciated.
How much is my lever down on the case supposed to pivot when I pull my clutch in.
The arrows are lined up perfect but I dont fell like it is pivoying enough?????
I have a new clutch kit, cable & EZ pull lever system.
I just got back today from Silver Lake.
Most of the dunes are perfectly fine but the drags are under water.
They have a drag going west to east from the beach but it is a little wet and is very whooped up.
If you have a rigid drag bike dont waste your time for a few weeks but if you want to have fun on the dunes it is perfectly fine riding.
I have heard of problems with the nut that is part of the shaft twisting in the hex cut on the pressure plate under extreme load.
Has anyone gone through either of this.
Hinson sells a billet pressure plate instead of the stock cast but it is way expensive.
My plate is fine I was just thinking of future problems.
Yes I ordered them for like $15 but I was just curious if the threaded rod simply threads into that collar/shaft piece.
The one I took off would not freely spin out of the collar/shaft piece.
Also I was told that the stock pressure plate was known for allowing the nut to spin inside the hex under heavy loads.
Any experience with that scenario?
Yes the center adjustment shaft with the threaded rod in it.
Also what is your take on spinning that nut inside the hex cut out of the pressure plate casting?
