  1. I always see posts on the BHQ about riders making their first pilgramage to Glamis. While Glamis remains the ultimate sand destination for the ultimate sand ATV (Banshee), there are still places you don't want to camp if you want to take full advantage of what Glamis has to offer. I was wondering if anyone on the BHQ had some advice for the first time camper at Glamis. In my opinion, Best spot- Glamis Flats Worst spot-any of the washes
  2. If you are riding in sand, you better not use them unless you take them off and wash them after every ride. Sand and dust will work their way into the fabric/neoprene and will be like sand paper to your springs. As far as chipping the shaft chrome, if a rock comes flying hard enough to chip chrome, or paint for that matter, it will not be stopped by the shockwear. Most folks put them on and forget about cleaning them or inspecting their shock seals after every ride. If you are worried about roost, I have a simple solution, ride in front!
  3. I ported my reed cages and replaced my stock reeds with boysen power reeds. I must say, there is much to be gained from performing this modification. It seems to give me better throttle control/response. It also seems to give my banshee longer legs. However, the powerband on my bike seems to hit harder than ever, but that is what I wanted. To sum it up, performing this mod will enhance the best traits of the banshee, a hard hitting powerband and tons of top end speed. The total cost was $52 for the power reeds, $10 for dremmel bits.
  4. The cinders have some of the biggest hills I have ever seen. Those pics do NO justice. The hills are so tall that if your jetting is good at the bottom, it will start acting up on top of the bigger hills. MASSIVE hills. Not a hill-race kind of place. More like- see who has balls big enough to get to the top. Cinders are bigger than sand. They can pile up and maintain a steeper slope than sand can. Run your old paddles and rims. Cinders will scratch up a new set of aluminum rims in a hurry. Gets very cold at night. The trails through the trees are awsome---imagine trail riding with paddles! BRING A VARIETY OF JETS. Martinez Canyon is a cool place to ride too. Just east of Florence Junction, this area boasts miles of sandy washes, fast desert trails, a spring, and an abandoned silver mine that you can actually walk through(VERY COOL) called SilverBelle Mine. Big Wash southeast of Florence is also a great place to do some sand riding. Miles of sand washes. Great Quail hunting, too. Sycamore creek is a great spot very close to Phoenix that has tons of sand and a few good hillclimbs. I havent been there in a year, and I hear that this riding area will soon close.
  5. check your tail light bulb.
  6. WTF??? Why is this even a discussion? Quit being a pussy and go out there and roost all over any DS650 that wants to line up. If you can't handle a 650, you should stick to trailriding. Why don't you get a job and buy some pipes for yourself instead of waiting for dady to buy 'em for you. Banshee crazy kid, don't you know you are suposed tobe 16 to ride a Banshee? As for that dude's fat wife with a wheelie bar on a stock 650, if I saw a set up like that out at Glamis, I would laugh my ass off and then I would commence to fly by that wal-mart lookin piece of shit 650 like it was standing still. Here's an idea Forcefed, put your wife on a diet so she won't need a wheelie bar! I have never been beaten by a 650. If you have, you are a disgrace.
  7. I ride mostly sand, so anything even remotely sticky will make your chain and sprockets rub together like sandpaper. I use a dry graphite lubricant spray. It goes on like paint and dries very fast. Works great. O rings still jucy after a good season of riding!
  8. Use the aircraft stripper. lay it on real thick, wait a couple minutes, wipe off with a paper towel. Repeat until all paint is gone. That shit is some nasty stuff. works great, but wear gloves.
  9. get a heat gun, heat the offending fender up in the bent area, pull the fender back into place and hold it there for a couple of min. until it cools.
  10. If you plan on cutting them, go with UFO. Meier plastics dont fit right and you can't get paint to stick to them real well. Fullbores are cool, they are just pricey. We just had a sand sports convention here in Az, and some company had a set of fully show chromed fenders. They were made from some other material and are custom from fullbore. Costs about 2500 a set, but they were bad-ass.
  11. Good idea on getting your suspension in order.
  12. Spend the same ammount on a new Banshee as you would on a new 450, and you will have no problem kickin some 4 stroke ass, if you know how to ride.
  13. Get a honda and join a honda forum. What kind of question is that to ask in a BANSHEE forum. What kind of response do you expect? The Banshee will beat any bike out there, if you know how to ride it.
  14. No way is someone gonna hold a wheelie in 6 th. I can see it might happen if they have some sort of wheelie bar like those trick streetbikes do. but not a legitimate wheelie. Powerband would kill you.
  15. If anyone can ride a wheelie on a banshee from 3rd to 6th, they are to be called a bad ass mf.
  16. Someone show me an intentional wheelie in sixth. I don't believe it. A vid will do.
  17. Justinintoxicated, you haven't figured out why we are in Iraq and Afganistan? It is to occupy those robe wearing pices of shit while we do a little C.Y.A. here in the U.S.A. If Islamic Jihad, Hammas, and other terror orgs. are busy fighting/expending their capitol in their own neighborhood, it is less likely to happen here. We are in World War 3. Christianity V. Islam. I would rather it happen there than here. Saddam is a pussy. He wanted young people to kill themselves, but he was a COWARD when he came face to face with the troops. I thought he would have put up a fight.
  18. Right on, Blue Duce. Any Shee is allright by me. I just thought some of these posts were getting kind of tame. I just read this entire thread again, and I laughed my ass off! Check my bike out in the all black shee thread in Images and tell me what ya think. Still trying to get that pic post thing down!
  19. You are welcome, Blue Duce. Thank YOU for an invigorating discussion. You certany brought up some good points. I am not claiming to have the best banshee out there. But I am very proud of my clean shee, and I will post a pic in the black banshees string tomorrow for all to see.
  20. If you like covers, great. They keep dirt in. They are your shocks.
  21. YOU DIDN'T DO IT LIKE I TOLD YOU TO. AS SOON AS YOU GET IT RIGHT, I'LL SHOW YOU MY SHIT, BITCH.
  22. You are boring me. Like I said, start a thread in images and post your bike. Mine will follow. If you are calling me out, show your shit. I don't want to waste my time on someone like you just because you have a wish list under your posts and you flame to be a pro. I will wait for your post.
  23. The shock will not be able to control it's rebound and compression with a blown seal. Why do you think they put valves and seals in shocks, jackass. But I'm sure you got a better explanation than me 'cause you run ELKA shock covers.
  24. Blueduce is the one who is flaming.
  25. Blueduce, Start a new thread in images forum. Post your bike. I'll post mine and everyone can decide whos who with a poll. You claim all that shit, lets see it PRO.
