  3. Diggin' the design big time, subscribed. I may need two if I ever complete this outlaw build. I like the idea of a clear lexan WP cover also. Match the coolant color to the lexan clutch cover color. Adds another level of detail seeing inner workings and the fluids. P.S. Appreciate you sending me the copper washers missing form my order for free, Jerry. High quality products and excellent customer service!
  4. I have the fireball front and roll design -1 swinger with elka stage 3's on my 421 serval. It's a great set up, I don't find myself fighting the front end but people have different styles and preferences. Mine puts down mid 80's though, with a power curve like that and proper gearing the front end should still be managed fine with 100ish hp. I have a JD and Motowoz LT front on my 250R and they're very nice a arms. I like the MGC style more than the fireball and rolldesign a arm style.
  5. I had to cut my airbox to accommodate my snipers for my 421. They were originally cut for my PT Mids but the modifications I did to fit them work for the snipers, if anything the snipers have a bit more space than my mids. I just hate how fucking loud the Snipers are. I want my PT's back but I feel like they'd choke the 421 down. If you notice the velcro adhesive around the edge of the air box. I've made my own outware lid that velcros on to help keep water off the filters.
  6. I wish Evan had more time to devote to this industry. We should bid the job to him. With 4-5 peeps fronting that much cash he may consider doing exactly what we're all talking about, a frame that doesn't have to use proprietary chassis components. He could even sell the jig or designs to one of the big companies lol. Wishful thinking.
  7. Truth. I want to make it clear I am not down right now and it depends on the time frame you guys are looking at doing this in. I have too many bikes in the stable right now and still have my incomplete outlaw issues to deal with. Like I said if I sell off this stock banshee and my 86 and 88 R I am down. It's not a money issue it's a priority issue, I have too many unused bikes and unfinished projects to justify another.
  8. I figured there would be power sacrificed, just as I know 28's are sacrificing power also, but they're all I have at the moment that fit and are functional. I have some old 36mm lectrons that need to be rebuilt and some 40mm billet smart carbs but they're too fucking bulky and the exhaust presses against the carb body. With that said it still puts down more than enough useable power. If I build another and feel like I need more power I'll likely build a 521 Redline Serval.
  9. I'm running 28mm pwk's right now with a modified air box shoehorned in to the stock frame. I did see an air box fitted to the outlaw frame before using flexible hose to connect between the carbs and air box.
  10. I had plans of putting my 421 serval into the outlaw but my snipers do not fit and I'm not sure if PT mids will, haven't tried them or the old ass FMF's I have laying around. I would like to see what these SLP's are all about too, if they fit that is. First I need to sort out these unforeseen suspension issues. For now it's just in my fireball LT and roll design/elka stock chassis. Which handles pretty well for a stock frame. I am planning to sell a stock shee and a couple 250R's. Depending on the time frame I would be one to commit to the 5600. I would also like to have other suspension options though, not just some custom LSR shit. It would make it easier to sell also if it ever came to that.
  11. Correct, I had it shipped freight to TX. To the question of who would spend that kind of money.. Pretty sure people already spend that amount on suspension every day, why should the suspension cost any more than what you would spend for a stock framed bike, be it a 450 or a banshee? The only additional cost would be the frame, albeit 2500 you aren't buying a stock donor bike or frame and it comes with a title. People buy these aftermarket frames already for their 450's and if they can offer an aftermarket stock geometry frame why not a hybrid? Just make them made to order. $2500 for a NEW frame isn't bad at all and I absolutely would pay that especially if it were a refined design that accepted the 450's suspension with no issues and would accommodate more exhaust options and possibly a custom airbox configuration for the guys who inevitably will end up in wet and muddy conditions... It couldn't be for your every day banshee owner who is clueless or a broke ass living with their parents trying to cut corners, but neither are Mattoon cases, or straight cuts or billet drag axles and swing arms, titanium hardware or any of the other high end shit we buy. Why should this be any different than spending thousands on an aftermarket dune or drag frame? or Thousands on 100+hp? If handling and suspension are your priority then you will. It's really not that far fetched and with aftermarket support you may see more 2 strokes in mx and xc races. Surely there are two stroke enthusiasts that race 4 strokes because it's just easier. With that said I agree this is unlikely to happen simply because of such pessimistic attitudes and the fact it isn't a gold mine idea. Even if it does happen it would be slow to take off and require some marketing. But can you imagine Whitbread or Evan's EFI being refined into a light weight almost plug-n-play package in a lightweight hybrid frame with a 4-10mil serval? That would be a force to be reckoned with. Win some races and get some media coverage with such a bike and I bet there would be loads of interest. First the old Banshee and two stroke myths need to be dispelled. Here's a cool Walsh hybrid that's similar to the concept I'm talking about. I'm sure many of you have seen before. http://atvscene.com/walsh-race-crafts-ltr-quadzilla-hybrid-built-kory-ellis/
  12. I'm running into some issues now with my 01 outlaw no link. The frame rails where the swing arm pivot bolt goes through are about 1/4" more narrow than my two stock R frames. So my brand new swing arm must be machined down to work. Then I'm having stupid issues with the JD front end I bought, the a arms look sick and he has nothing but good reviews but the front right shock doesn't line up with the upper shock mount on the frame and is in a bind if pushed into place. Obviously I will not run it like that. Plus the ball joints are in a bind with the length of shock JD had Motowoz send me. I'm going to try and mount the front end on my stock 250R frames to confirm this is a flaw with the a arms and not some distortion of the outlaw frame, although it doesn't look like there is. Then there are the typical problems like pipe and intake limitations and the way the front plastic mounts, any hood must be trimmed to fit over the upper shock mounts. It would be profoundly better if they would build one using any one of the newer 450 suspension components. I feel like it couldn't be that difficult for a professional company to offer this, I think the big doubt is the investment of time will not pay off in this niche market. You can get almost any configuration in a Leager or Leager Narrow frame, if you want to spend 8.3-10 grand simply on chassis components, shocks not included. http://www.hsdracing.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=458
  13. Updated pic from today.
  14. I emailed him on the 200w dc stator for another build and he said they will be ready to ship on May 6'th.
  15. I have mine mounted but as expected with the billets size, the pipes are touching the left carb. Should be able to get enough space worked between them to work. I moved and have had a ton of work to do on the house so the banshee has gone untouched so no opinion on functionality yet. Fit is an issue running duals but you can't knock them for that, the carbs weren't built specifically to fit a banshee. Worst case scenario I'm unhappy with their performance and I get my money back. No big deal. Best case they work as advertised.
  16. To clarify, I have not done anything with the carbs. I left for work before the replacement fittings I was sent came in. I'm also in the middle of a move when I come home this time so I can't say I'll get to it for a while now. No progress warrants no update.
  17. I've been offshore the past three weeks or so, I'll be home on the 14'th. When I get around to finishing everything I'll put up a video and write a little review on how things went with the carbs.
  18. Pipe dope is a dark copper color, incidentally it would be a pretty good and original color to use.
