  1. I doubt those would hook up well enough for a drag racing application though? Is that for more of a trail riding for some traction or what?

    Ice Tires

I need a semi-solid answer so I know where to start on this project. Motor specs are in my signature, and I don't want to spend a fortune if possible! I figure I'll do 55-60 studs in each tire, half pics and half chissels. What kind of tires work well for holding studs? Do I want a squarish tire or will a stock set of rears work for me? Do I want to use a tube?
  3. Is it necessary to shave the tires? Is a pattern necessary or just add here and there until you reach the desired quantity?
  4. What type of tires should I start out with? Should I use a tube? Chissels or pics? quantity? Anyone have experience? Tires will go on my +4 stroker listed in my signature..probably 75 hp roughly. I want to do this as cheaply and easily as possible, but still have a descent set of tires for racing.
  5. Will 110 octane run fine on a +4 stroker, dune ported w/ roughly 17cc domes?
  6. I'd take my chances running it
  7. I'm gonna have to call BS on the dyno numbers too... Whats a CR 500 make?
  8. Um...yes there is. There are track dyno's and motor dynos for sleds. The motor dyno hooks up in place of the clutch and reads power/torque through that. Here's my sled on a dyno..187 hp / 127 tq.
  9. I would just HATE to get there and not clear---it should be close though huh..
  10. Anyone who knows sleds knows CPC makes some pretty descent motors. I can tell you one thing, it won't make those numbers, just like every other aftermarket snowmobile motor manufactuer, they boost them for appeal and sales.
  11. Putting stockers on is not an option. I'd rather buy new pipes than have my bike look terrible. For spark arrestors I wonder if I could get away w/ chicken wire in the current CPI silencers so when they poke it, there is resistance.
  12. I have to be under 94 DB, and I hear the CPI inframes will be too loud. Any idea on how I can get them in legally or will I have to switch pipes? What do you think? What pipes are will clear the sound level but not choke my motor out---rockets / shearer / ?
  13. I will--i'll probably toy with it in the winter and then tear it down towards the end.
  14. I just bought a different bike than the one I was looking at. This one is a +4 stroker, full dune/drag port and CPIs..and some more I don't need to be the fastest, just wanna line up and do ok... Where I ride / race is Silver Lake, MI...most of the time on a normal weekend out there my patriot dune ported 350 w/ t5s and some other stuff on gas was top 15 bikes. On a holiday weekend--different story.
  15. motor is really fresh he said..so we'll see. I'd guess it's good though.
  16. won it for $3950....pretty good deal I think!!! Can't wait to ride it.
  17. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...item=4507269580 I talked to the guy and he said the motor work was done by a local shop. The motor doesn't use a spacer plate--- The crank isn't trued/welded Bike looks clean--I wonder if it's worth the cash though?
  18. I ride dunes--I like to drag race and I need a powerful reliable bike. I know his porting would be a reliable bike, but I'm worried about the power. Will this port job run against a A & S, Passion, Patriot, etc ported motor? With all things equal will it even come close? The price is right and I've heard good things about him but I'm just worried it won't be enough for me.
  19. I talked to Eric Gorr today on the phone--I asked if he did a dune style port, he said no--just a woods port, more for MX style riding. I don't ride MX, I ride dunes, and I like to drag race and win--is this going to get the job done?
  20. I got a banshee w/ the following trued/welded hot rod crankshaft coolhead v force reeds toomey t5s I want a fast dune bike that is reliable. Preferably on gas. I can get 110 octane. I was thinking---dune port, bigger carbs, CPI / shearer pipes Does this sound good to you or should i get a +4 stroker? I want it to be cost effective. Who should I let port it, I called Eric Gorr today and he only does a woods port--not enough power for me.
  21. I'm looking to build a dune race banshee--but not a FULL out racer. I want it to be extremely fast, but also reliable and something I can toy around the dunes on when not racing. Who would you recommend to build your motor? Had good luck w/ Patriot Racing on my last bike--- Others tell me Passion, A & S, etc.. What style motor would fit me best? And who should I have build it that is reasonably priced? Thanks
  22. I'm looking at a banshee w/ a Trinity MX port, But if I buy it I want it to be more of a drag port. Could a good porter/builder change it to a dune port?
  23. I have an opportunity to pick up a 1999 banshee frame w/ a 2001 r6 motor in it for $1700. Motor has 113 hp and is already in the frame. Took a look at it today and the way the guy did it was kind of hack, the motor is in there but the frame mods he did are not symmetrical or very clean looking. Anyone have websites of people who have done this to their banshees w/ good success. I figure I can finish the project for about $3500 or less and have one hell of a bike for drag racing. All the bike needs is a battery, chain, possibly a new CDI, and a few other parts. The motor itself has is pretty nice just needs a quick clean up and re-routing of the wires. The frame needs a bit of work to look how I want it.
  24. I had one of that guy's +4 on my banshee, really nice piece actually. Especially for the $$ you can't beat it.
  25. I don't have any use,t hey're brand new in the package..paid like $35.00 for them from the dealership. [email protected] if you want them...i'm not on here very often so be sure to email me.
