  1. cool thx guys, sorry to be a pain by asking so many q's??? thx again
  2. So if you guys are 100% sure that my water pump impeller is toast and causeing water to get in my oil even though my coolant level stays the same, where would I go about getting a good reliable water pump impeller and what are the usual costs? Again, sorry to ask this again but could someone explain to me why my oil is milky and my coolant level is normal. If I did have a bad impeller, why is my shee's coolant not droping, its staying normal???
  3. I am no banshee expert but when I checked my coolant level it was OK, right on the money and so was the overflow bottle. I think I got water in the case from riding through it. Maybe this thread went the wrong way and some people are thinking I got coolant in my oil but again I am no expert. But if you guys think this is what happened, how come my coolant level never dropped? Thx for the replys and keep them coming.
  4. Water pump gasket ehh?? How do you know that? My filler cap was tight and I trimmed a bit off my drain line after I done a rebuild. Just curious, but why could a chopped drain line cause this...Its an interesting idea.
  5. Hey guys, I was riding yesterday for almost a good 6 hours. Today I checked the oil and it was a milky color, which means water in the oil. My question is---has anyone had this happen to them before under normal riding conditions? There was a few big puddles I went through and today I washed the shee and then I noticed the milky oil.. Any ideas how this water is getting into my engine? Also, I have no oil leaks... Thx
  6. Hey guys, I am in the process of installing the UPP cahin slider kit on my shee and I have a quick question. Which roller goes on the top and which one goes on the bottom? Thats all for now
  7. Hey guys, I have a couple simple questions for the banshee guru's!!! What is the stock sprocket teeth count on my 03 shee? What set-up would be better for bottom end? What set-up would be good for better top end? Also, which ones will I have to change my chain as well with as well? Thx
  8. I installed the 300's again tonite and moved the needlw to the 4th position..I never got a chance to go for a spin so I will do that when I get back in town on Sunday... Is it OK to test it the way I have the gas mixed or what??
  9. I will try that today and post back later.. Thx again for your help.!!!
  10. If you are asking me about the mix ratio I use..it is 24:1...
  11. Thanks for the reply... I have not been riding for a half hour before doing a plug check.. I would just get the bike to operating temp, blast off, go into 6th gear and when it felt like I hit top speed, I hit the kill switch and pullin the clutch. The max riding time would be 5-10 mins.. I guess i will have to try and ride a lil longer next time, then do the plug check again. So in your opinion, I am now probably gone too big in the mains... So here is what I think I should do and I do need some pointers here... 1> Go back to a 300 main, stock pilot, and 3rd needle clip position...install new plugs, run the piss out of it for 30 mins and then do a plug check. 2> If I get grey plugs, I go up to 320's and try again and also maybe adjust the needle to the 4th position.. Maybe my issue is here is that I have not been running the bike long enough for the color change to take effect. Let me know what you think!!!
  12. Cool thats good info to know...thx... But my same problem is there at 3/4 to WOT...the plugs are a grey to very, very light brown... So by putting in the 30 pilot, thats not going to help to color of my plugs at the WOT range??? Also, When I switch from 5th to 6th, the bike takes a while to get to speed and almost seems like its bogging a little, but when I check the plugs they are grey/ very, very light brown like I mentioned above??? What do you think now??
  13. I would guess at 1/8 throttle, the bike is lagging, but as soon as you get on the gas it powers right up instantly. I will try 320's, 30 pilots and needle at 4th position and check my plugs again!!!
  14. I don't have 27.5 pilots and yamaha will have to order them..crappy!!! What about 340's and 30 pilot and 1 and a half on the airscrew... If its too rich, I could go to 320 mains with a 30 pilot and adjust the needle as required. What do u think about that or should I order the 27.5 pilots?
  15. So you figure I should try this even though I still have my stock reed cages? I just changed my reeds...But anyway thats another option..I'll try that. Thanks
  16. So I tried again this evening and the 320's didn't solve it neither did the 340's.... Am I going to have to higher again?..I think I am going to have to,,,My next step is 380's and 400's..... This is not a hard process and it seems like posts I made earlier people have done this mod before...Can I get an opinion on this from anyone that have done this mod before or anyone that has a good grip on jetting... Everytime I try a new jet and it doesn't work, I have to go and buy 2 more for the next step up...Can someone give me an idea on the next size because soon I am going to have a whole jet collection. Thanks
  17. Ok that makes sense...I want to get the clip in the 3rd position and the proper main, so this should fix my bogging... I will try and do a run after work this evening and I will let you know how it goes. I installed 320's and the needle is back to 3rd position so we will see what happens. Thanks again
  18. What are you running for jets right now?? Stock or have you changed them out? Also what is the altitude you ride in mostly?
  19. I ran the 300's and ended up moving the clip to the 5th position and I was just starting to see light brown color. So I went and bought 320's and 340's and will maybe try again tomorrow. Another question...Before I changed the clip position (3rd with 300's installed) my bottom end was good and would climb the hills easily in 2nd gear. After I moved the clip to the 5th position, I totally lost by bottom end until the power band kicked in and I couldn't climb the hills at all. I had to run into the hill in 1st instead of 2nd. I needed less speed due the start of the hill but I needed to be in second gear to climb the hill but I could only get into first because it would bog out in second as soon as I hit the hill... Is that part of the power range dependant on the needle position or what? I need to have that low end grunt as well, so will the correct main jet and needle in 3rd position fix that??
  20. Cool, thx for the replys...Today I bought and installed 300's and moved my needle back to 3rd position. Tomorrow I will run it and see what happens... I will post back then..
  21. Hey guys, I have a 03 shee with FMF fatty's+ power core 2 silencers, boyesene power reeds and a uni air filter...Since this winter I cut off the end of my airbox lid for more air flow... I live a sea level and here is the issue I am having.... Before the airbox lid mod=stock pilots, 270 mains and needle in third position and airscrew I believe it is 1 and a half turns???...It ran awesome... After airbox lid mod= stock pilots, 280 mains and needle in 5th position, and airscrew 1 and a half turns and plugs are coming out grey... I figure it would run ok in the summer when temps get hotter but I need a fix for now.... Where is my next jetting option...Bigger/smaller mains, bigger/ smaller pilots , what position needle and what adjustment on the air screw Let me know what u think
  22. Hey guys, I have a 03 banshee and here is the issue I am having.. When I am riding along at a normal rpm, my headlights tend to go bright and dim at a frequent pace. When I am at idle the seem to be dull like normal.. Do you guys have any idea..voltage regulator..etc I have checked the ground and it seems to be good... Let me know any ideas. Thx
