A buddy of mine is running some 6 paddles on his YFZ, and I am going to try them in Glamis this weekend and see how they work. Then I should be able to decide what to go with. I was debating trying the brats, but dont want to drop $400 on paddles right now.

Found a set of Elka Dune Editions for a good price. They are for a YFZ 450, will they bolt on to my banshee, or will I need to make some mods for them to fit? I saw the right ups for makeing the stock YFZ shocks fit, but will it be the same for the Elka's? Thanks!

Are most of you guys running 8 or 6 paddle haulers? 350 Dune ported motor, T5's and other typical bolt ons. I have been running the Sand Skate II's the last couple seasons and am going to try haulers this time around. After talking to a few people I have heard mixed things. Some say 8 paddle some say 6. I'm going with the 21x12x8 and the 8 rim, just need to decide on how many paddles. Thanks.

2001 Banshee ALL NEW w/ 421 Cheetah Cub 4 mil

Free bump for a nice bike! Too bad your in Tex. -
I have had the clamps from RIS on my T5's for a few seasons now, and have never had a problem. Plus they looks nice too!

OK, so I was going to change out the main jets on my PWK's, and decided to take them apart to check what size pilot I had in there. Did that, changed out the mains, and put them back together. I obviously missed something on the left side carb. As soon as I turn the gas to the ON position, it's like I am turning on a water faucet... Gas just comes pouring out of the overflow tubes at the bottom and side of the carb. What did I do wrong??
-
Thanks for this info. Does anyone know if the dealer would carry the spacers? I was hoping to leave tomorrow for glamis. I'll start calling around today.
-
I installed a set of PWK 28mm carbs, and I noticed the bottom of the left side carb hangs pretty low. There is a (for lack of a better word) nipple that is resting where the clutch cable hooks up. Is this going to be a problem? If so what do you guys to to fix it. Here is a crappy pic, but it should give an idea of what I'm talkin about. Anyone run into this issue before? Any help would be great!

Another guy you should call, and he is in So Cal. is Kevin over at Custom Creations. (909) 388-2887 He recently did a dune port setup for me, and it has ran great.

Fast Dune Bike - Cubs, or Ported Stock Jugs
Rock-46 replied to Rock-46's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Anyone have any experience with how they run with mostly stock components? Stock carbs, stock milled head, Toomey's Etc. What about clutch? With the setup I have listed above would the stock clutch be ok? -
I had some problems overheating, and after going through the whole cooling system, re-jetting a few times we still couldn't find the problem. After all that it ended up being the headgasket had a small leak. Replaced the head gasket, and haven't had a problem since. If your bike it not heavily moded and the stock rad is working properly there is no reason why you need to spend the $$ on a new one. I would guess the problem is somplace other than that.
-
I currently have a stock motor with Toomey pipes, K&N filters, advanced timing, etc. Pretty much all bolt on stuff. I want a fast reliable dune bike, but also like the occasional race up the hill with my buddies. I was going to get a new top end and do some port work, then started hearing and reading lots of good stuff about the new Cheetah Cub cylinders, and how they can be used with my stock components. Would a stock bore Cub motor (using all my other stock stuff) be better, faster or more reliable than porting my stock jugs? I'm on a fairly tight budget, that's why if I end up going with the Cubs, I would have to use my stock components for now. Any info or suggestions you guys have would be great. Thanks.

I agree it's not hard to do. I did the top end on my old shee. I'm not worried about an hour or so of labor costs. A lot easier and worth it to me to just drop the bike off. Plus if for some reason there is a problem with the bike when done, I'm eliminating the shop from being able to blame it on me for installation error. I am able to just take it back in. I don't have to worry about tearing it down again and shipping parts etc. I'm going to go by Wicked tomorrow and talk to Roger and go over possible setups.
-
My issue is I don't have time to take my bike apart and send stuff out. I'm looking for a good shop in So. Cal. so I can take the whole bike in and drop it off.
-
Bump this back up. I'm local to wicked and am getting ready to do my cylinders as well. Sanddragon, Did Roger do your motor? What did you have done? Any one else out there have motor work done by them?

V & L Powder Coating is in So Cal and do great work. They do powder for quite a few of the major rail manufacturers. I think they charge around $300 for a frame. Here is a link to some pics of their on another forum. http://www.glamisdunes.com/invision/index....showtopic=44291

On a brand new stock bike, I would throw on some T5's and other bolt on's like FAST said. That will wake up your bike a lot over stock. Once you get used to that and are in need of a top end, then get it ported.

CT racing in south cali n e one delt with them
Rock-46 replied to fernando427's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
You can check out www.wickedatv.com they are in Garden Grove. Talk to Roger. I have heard good things about them. I'm pretty sure thats where I'm taking mine to get ported here pretty soon. -
This is pretty much the same type of riding I do, mostly sand etc, and basically the same thing I want to get out of my bike. I have been debating on having my stock cylinders ported or going with the cubs. Will the cubs work with stock carbs, or would they NEED to be upgraded? Cubs or build on the stock platform? decisions, decisions...
-
I am also in So Cal and trying to find somplace local for port work. Has anyone heard anything good or bad about Wicked ATV? http://www.wickedatv.com I have talked to them a few times, and he sounds like he knows his stuff, but I haven't heard much from anyone that has had work done from them. I talked to trinity, but have heard a few horror stories come out of there, so I'm not sure.
