  1. yea I'd say new rings for sure. It should be around 110 or so. I didn't even think it would run with it that low.
  2. i've been searching and couldn't find anything on this. My shee is really confusing me. Ok my mods are T-5's, FMF Torque reeds, no airbox with toomey air fliter, bored to 370, stock head milled 150psi. Ok right now Im running 27.5 pilots and 340 mains with airscrews 2 turns out. Ok now to the point, After I did the pipes I never changed the pilots, only the mains cuz my shop didn't have the pilots but I got the mains right. Problem was then that it was running bad right off idle but would scream on top. So the shop finally got the pilots and I put them in, now it runs great off idle and almost to the midrange but runs horrible up on the top. Now why would changing the pilot cuz the main to become too rich?? It would run great on the topend untill I switched the pilot. No I didn't get the carb bowls switched oh and TORS is removed. Any help??

They've got a webiste www.rageatv.com Everyone thats in the area should check this race out. The track's website is www.highlandsmx.com You can get all info from those 2 sites. Its really a blast and the pro's always put on a good show. We usually have around 70 quad show up but Im usually the only banshee. If anyone shows look for a black and grey banshee #8 with blue neons on while Im off track

  5. true but thats why i say get a thumb and ride for awhile, get used to the bike then switch to a twist and see if you like it. I never have my front end come up unexpectedlty cuz I know what the bikes gonna do before it does it. thats what I suggest. Get comfortable on the bike, learn its moves and how it reacts then try the twist and if you don't like throw the thumb back on it. I just know I'll never go back to a thumb. When I get my R finally built, Im running a twist from teh beginning.
  6. yea but if your a true motocross racer that eats sleeps and breathes motocross I think the twist is gonna better suit you. Just because it allows you to get farther off the seat then a thumb and you can grip with your wrist under the bar if say your hanging your ass off the seat to the right trying to rail a right hand berm. I think its just easier but thats just me
  7. I run 28:1 with Castor927 and 108octane race fuel and don't have any problem. I like running just a tad rich though cuz I've blew a topend from running too lean.
  8. I race a twist MX and I love it. I got rid of my thumb and will never go back to it. I seem to have more control with a twist because you can't just hang on and get arm pump, The wrist is always moving. But I don't really get arm pump anymore so that isn't a problem, unless I haven't rode for a few weeks, like now cuz of rain.
  9. hey email me at [email protected] and I get get you alot of info and hook you up with the right people to talk to. I would love to see another banshee out there. Out of 70 quads Im usually the only banshee.
  10. I ride at all the tracks in houston. We've got a quad only racing association here in houston called STQRA (South Texas Quad racing Association), www.rageatv.com We are having a few races out here soon and then gonna start up on our series again in feb. I think. Next race is on dec 6th at highlands MX. We usually have around 70-80 quads at each race. You should come over and race. We got beg, novice, intermedite, open pro, over 30, sportquad, mini's, womens. Its really fun and everyones awesome. If you want directions just post on my race teams website on the message board and you'll get everything you need to know, www.ghettokidzracing.com
  11. Anyone riding in the houston area??
  12. what kinda carb are you running cuz if its the stock carb then a 12.5 pilot is way too small. Stock is a 25 if Im correct.
  13. I raced mine stock for a whole season and won every heat I was in and placed top 5 in mains 5 times. SO yes you can race a shee stock. Last half of the season I had a axle and wheel spacers but my shocks are stock, arms are stock and haven't even touched the setting on the shocks from the factory and Im hitting 70ft+ tables and triples. Sure if you come up short or too long it hurts but just practice, practice, practice and nail every jump perfect and then all you got to worry about are braking bumps, they tossed me around pretty bad

    what gear??

no im MXing it. First is waay to short now and second is close. My motors not stock. Im running a 370 with milled head and intake mods and T-5's so it raps out pretty quick. If i start in second Im the last off the line. I tried it and white smoked them lol

    what gear??

With my stock gearing I start in 3rd and still pull the wheels off the ground a few inches ( a perfect holeshot)on dirt, concrete I just roast them, even in 3rd, no matter how bad a slip the clutch. Im about to try a 15 tooth foot and see if I can get better on concrete.
