sounds good but I'd drop the duablue axle and go with a lonestar or RPM. I know people that have had god luck with durablue( like me) but I've seen TOO many break. I dont MX my shee anymore so Im not replacing mine, But I did put a lonestar on my KFX400. I do alittle more flying on the 400 then I do on my shee so I didnt want it to break. Everything else sounded great well expect those a-arm guards...drop those too and get some pics when you get done

man they over paid for those elkas and burgurd arms if they paid 3200. I ride a KFX400 mx and I got elka long travel shocks and +3 JD long travel arms and a stock rear revalved and it was only about 1900. Ok well maybe with a elka rear and maybe a steering stabilzer it might put it up to that so nevermind. I personally dont like the way the 450's handle. I know everyone says their sooo awesome but I didnt like it. I feel more comfortable and faster on my KFX. I didnt like the bump steer they had and I rode one with a stablizer and I didnt like how hard I had to set it to get rid of the bumpsteer. but thats just me. Anything is better then a banshee though. lol Dont get me wrong, I love my shee but I raced it motocross BONE STOCK other then the motor all last year an dit was killer. I was always in top 5 but I had to work soo much harder. I dont have to work as hard on my K

Posted on Mar 25 2004, 08:44 PM Not a threat at all. Mods are vary limited for 4 strokes. not true. Last weekend I saw a 450 with a portjob, cams new carb, running alky with a 8in swing DESTROY full drag shee's. They were claiming 100+hp and when the 450 got a good jump and didnt wheelie he eat them alive. I couldnt belive it but I did see it. Im not sure what all the shees had done but most were custom frames running no plastic out-of frame pipes....full blown drag shee's and they were getting their asses handed to them. Dont get me wrong I love my shee and am starting to slowly build a full drag bike out of it but that 450 was killing them.

I had a problem just like this and I ran my own ground wire for the coil and it fired right up. I think the ground broke somewhere in the frame and it wasn't making a complete circuit. Don't know if this helps but its worth a shot.

i think the guys that are having them break lugs nuts are getting loose. I've posted too many times about mine never breaking but I put mine through hell 50ft doubles 90ft triples 70 ft tables 80 yd whoop sections( big whoops, almost rythmns) 30yd small peaky whoops and mine havne't broke.
-
Like I posted in another I ran my wheel spacers for a 11 race series and I never broke them. No I was't putting and yes I was jumping. 50ft doubles 70ft tables 90ft triples etc. Yes i came down on the front end and case jumps all the time. I practiced 3 times a weeks on my banshee till I got my new KFX400. I think it is just luck of the draw, some they ship out are good and some aren't. Now a-arms are the way to go but if you don't have the money for them try the spacers and flip your rims around. Im not saying they won't break, Im just saying that I knew that their was a chance of them breaking but I never let up or rode slow because of it.
-
mine were predrilled
-
I know everyone says that spacers are horrible and a diaster but now that Im not racing my shee MX anymore I can say that I ran a 11 race MX series(1 race a month and practice 3 times a week) and my spacers never broke. yes I landed wrong on the front thousands of times over 70ft tables and 90ft triples. I think I was lucky but just proving that spacers dont always break. Oh I got 6 trophys last season so I was riding fast and hard. but I just bought a 2003 KFX400 and Im gonna race that this season. I pulled a 5th in my first race in the B class bone stock, even tires.
-
yea they wear pretty quick but if you keep switching them from side to side ever other week or so you can keep your traction but it wears the tires out alot faster. I heard Razzrs last longer but never tried them
-
hey if the front end goes high like that, grab the clutch and stomp the rear brake, it should bring the front back down. just some info for next time
-
no i had a helmet....if I hadn't I wouldn't have walked away. Reread that last line and your see. I did word it kinda funny so i see how you messed it up lol
-
If you don't have a high enough compression race gas doesn't do a thing. I think its all in your head cuz your runing race gas and thinks its gonna be faster. I know a guy that put a boost bottle on his shee and we all know they do nothing but he swore he could feel the increase so I jumped on it and same old shee. Unless you just want to waste 30 bucks then go for it but its not gonna do anything but hurt you.

I'll get one of his arms and measure it and post sometime this week

here it is http://www.ghettokidzracing.com/ad_custom_shockcovers.htm
-
If you want some custom ones check out www.ghettokidzracing.com and look for a link along the lines f AD shocks covers( I can't remeber exactly what it is. A guy on my team's wife makes them and she can make them for any lenght you just have to know the measurement of your shock lenght width etc. But they can do any color and even put your name or so on it. I've had mine for about 8 months and no problems yet. I wash them in the sink too. Oh they charge 35 plus shipping which is about the same that everyone else charges but you don't get it custom. I'll try to find the link for it.

Hey I was wondering if any knows if the new YFZ450 a-arms and shocks will fit on a banshee?? A guy on my team(www.ghettokidzracing.com) has a 450 and just put long travel on it and I know his arms and shocks would be better then my stock ones. SO just owndering if anyone knows??

sounds good I might look into one

i havent tried a twist throttle on a banshee or any atv yet but i think i would like the thumb better for doing wheelie's.......is a twist goood for jumping? cuz im afraid to buy a twist then go off a jump and land real hard which would make my wrist go down and pin the throttle. Then end up with the shee ontop of me. Do any of u twist throttle users think that would happen? I ride MX with a twist and I've never had that happen but I have control of my body when I land so that my wrist doesn't twist the throttle open and even if it did, just slide up on the tank and left off. I honestly can't see why people have sucha hard time with a twist. I rode my thumb for about a year and then went to a twist, after about 5 laps I had it down.

only time i throw a leg over my shee w/o a helmet is if im riding in the pits at the track and then im not getting out of 2nd at an idle or if im riding it up into the trailer. WAY too many helmet stories keep that helmet on my head
-
I've got tons of helmet stories but the one that comes to mind is my most freakiest one. I was riding next to a road in a shoulder of about 7ft and for some reason a dead pine tree fell infront of me. I saw it falling and it was happening in slow-mo but I was 5th pinned and only had time to grab clutch, brake and brake. No time to set up for the impact or anything. I nailed that tree 5th pinned and went flying. I have no idea how many times shee flipped or anything. After I woke up in the street and realized that I wen about 25yards from the tree and you could see where I hit the ground and started rolling/flopping into the street. I flew about 30 feet from the tree before I hit the ground. Don't know if I've ever been in that much pain. End result was bent bars, radiator, clutch lever and perch, brake lever and the bar that goes up to the top of the rad. was bent back pinning my tank in, destroyed plastic, torn up jersey and pants, few buckles torn off my boots, cracked helmet with a big gash from where my head hit the curb, and TONS of bruises and cuts. But I rode that limping thing home and was able to walk away from it and without a helmet I don't know if I could have gotten out of that one.

loking for one to see how much someone wants for one or how much someone would charge to cut mine thanks

Twist Throttle Good Idea? Or Bad?
bansheeman8 replied to limitied03's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
twist does require more body english. It requires you to be a better rider then the guy next to you on a 400ex with thumb. Me, I have no problem blasting whoops, hills tabletops, doubles triples, anything you throw at me on my shee with a twist cuz I know I can control it. I can't remember the last time it did something that I wasn't expecting, other then last week when I was sliding a flat turn and hit a rut and it almost rolled. But that had nothing to do with the twist. I honestly think a twist is easier cuz pulling 2 slides all day on a mx track with your thumb sucks. Maybe if it was a single carb system but not dual. Just my opinion though -
yea i wasn't thinking when i hit new topic that I was still in rides of shame. lol I was thinking I had already went back to events and stuff, but i posted it there too so its ok.
-
Thanks guys I;ll be trying those out today but its like 30degress colder today so that would screw it up anyways. I'll mess with it and see. Oh yea one more thing I always get this confused but if you started in the middle of the needle which way would be lean...up towards the top or down??
