I made great progress in getting this motor jetted right this weekend.
As you can see i've tried a ton of different jetting combinations...... but i still had a little bit of a dead zone in the midrange. It appears that this motor was a bit lean at 1/4 throttle and a bit rich at 1/2 throttle so i put in a leaner tapered needle and moved the clip down 1 spot and that seemed to be just what it needed, the dead zone is about all if not completely gone! It runs like a raped ape all the way through and pulls very hard. I think with a lean 1/4 position and a rich 1/2 position the midrange was just outta balance creating the "deadzone" and by getting these 2 throttle posions balanced out the "deadzone" is gone. Final jetting specs are = 178 mains, 48 pilots 1 1/4 turns out, BEG needles on the 4th clip position.
