  1. Your entire question depends on what mods you have and what type of riding you like to do. Give us some more info, and we'll see if we can help you out.
  2. Porting and polishing is cleaning up the intake and exhaust ports of all the burrs and unsmooth surface, and enlarging them to different degrees depending on the circumstances, then polishing them to a nice smooth finish so that air and gases can escape very efficiently. If your asking what it is or how to do it, you probably shouldn't be trying it anytime soon. I would leave that for the professional shops. Scott
  3. That will depend on your elevation somewhat. I run 20cc domes right now. If I was at 4,000 or 5,000, I'd probably run 19cc. The higher elevation you go, the less compression, so the smaller dome will bring your compression back up. Tell us your elevation, and we'll get you a good answer.
  4. An '02 has a normal title, just like cars and trucks. It would've been issued in the state of first purchase, (unless transferred) and would list the previous owner. The "certificate of origin" they're referring to is the title. I would be making a quick trip to the person you bought it from and if he has no legitimate answer, get the police involved to run the numbers off the bike. It very well could be stolen if they can not present a title. The guy you bought it from may have been the one that got yanked around by the guy before him, but you need to find out, and if he doesn't know, then the both of you need to get in touch with the previous owner. Get this figured out, or get your money back. Because, at the very least, most people won't buy these without a title, so if you want to sell it in the future, it will be very very hard to sell, if darn near impossible. Good luck, and I hope it works out. Scott
  5. Thats what they all say.
  6. Good call Boonman.
  7. I've seen that before, on Ebay I guess. I think thats one of the sharpest paint schemes I've seen. It was a little too expensive for my taste (according to the Ebay amount), but if the price cam down some, I'd be on top of that so fast. It's not just the spattered paint, it looks like its been clearcoated over and pretty high quality. Tell us a little more on the process you did to do that and the finish thats on it. Scott
  8. Your making things too easy.
  9. I would definitely pursue the cause of this. Your choke should be staying out until you want to push it back in. That is the cause of your kicking situation. My machine will start within 4 or 5 kicks when choked, no matter how cold. Smoking, it does do some, but thats a different story.

    Shocks

I've got a front pair with yellow springs in hardly used condition. The only marks are where the shockwears were rubbing a little.
  11. "Services by Boonman". Does that include washing my truck??
  12. I'm running a 180 main currently. I've been tinkering 'cause of the cold spell we're having, but 180 is about right for me right now. I'm about 2,000 feet, I think, can't remember at the moment. If your anywhere around my elevation, throw in a 200 and see what you got. If its too rich, and you probably will be, unless your ported and stroked out your ass, then there will be quite a bit of oil. Make sure your running the wide open throttle test in a fairly high gear, and the machine is fully warmed up. It will begin to stumble when its too rich, and there will be some black when it richens up. I like mine just a tad off black, so close you can't hardly tell. Also, you need to look in the base of the plug, not up at the top where you gap it. Down inside, you'll see the ceramic base, thats where you need to be looking. Check it out and let us know.
  13. It's probably because of one of the really cold mornings we've been having here in TX, and it was just not feeling up to it that day. I wouldn't worry. Its probably a little rich 'cause of the weather. If it keeps up, then maybe try doing some jetting, just make sure it's not a bad weather symptom. Mine smokes like hell when its really cold out, especially if it drops below freezing thanks to my oil separating at 32 degrees (good ol' Castro). But when its above 60, there is no smoke in sight, well not usually.
  14. When the CDI goes out, there is no go. They fail fast, slow, and all the above.
  15. I second that. I've had good luck with my VForce setup.

    My Top Speed?

what size are your rear tires?
  17. None of that stuff is any good without the right suspension underneath it. IMO, you can be faster on a stock, well suspended shee, than a hopped up shee on stock suspension. Make sure to give that dept. a consideration if your going to mx.
  18. Cutting torch and welder.

    My Top Speed?

8000 69.52480539 9000 78.21540606 10000 86.90600674 11000 95.59660741 ... this isnt EXACTLY true though, unless you have sum hiogh tech shit were u entered his mods b/c all those mods make a differance Only gearing will tell you your top speed. Your mods only get you there faster, with one exception; mods that allow you to rev higher. If you have "x" front sprocket with "y" rear sprocket, and size "z" tires, they're only going to spin as fast as the motor with said gearing. Adding nitrous and big carbs and this and that, won't make the tires spin faster than the rear sprocket, which is as fast as the chain, which is only as fast as the front sprocket, which is only as fast as the motor. Like I said, with one exception, something, like a pipe, that will allow the motor to rev higher, which still follows the said gearing, but just allows the chain to turn faster. If I'm wrong, please correct me, and let me in on this science.
  20. I'll second that. V-Force for me.
  21. i run 15/41 with 20" tires. I run 20" tires because I ride a little xc also, and too cheap for different tires.
  22. I'd get from Duncan Racing and they'll stand behind them 100%.
  23. this is wrong............ I saw a stock shee get 5 lengths put on him by a stock yfz........
  24. I would say they look pretty good. I don't think they're near $600.00 worth. They look like they were done properly and sealed. I'd pay maybe $200.00 for them, no more if I knew they were painted right. But then, I'd be afraid to ride with them on. Scott
