  1. Price reduced again.... $215.00 shipped to upper 48.
  2. I agree with Wallrat. It's one or possibly both of those things if you're really unlucky. Do the air leak test and if that's not it then concentrate on your water pump. If all else fails, open your carbs back up and verify that they are indeed set up the same. Same jets, same needle position, same needles, same float heights, etc.
  3. I just looked at the wiring diagram. From the factory, both headlights are spliced together after the dimmer switch. I would concentrate your efforts on the length of wires that go from that splice to the light that is not working. If you're getting power to one light, that proves your lighting coil is working. Perform a continuity test on each wire in that section to see if they are conducting electricity from the splice to the plug that the headlight connects to. The colors of the wires you are checking should be yellow, blue, and green as per the diagram I'm looking at.
  4. What they are saying is purchase a new clutch lever and perch to replace the stock one. The perch is what attaches to the handlebars and what the clutch lever pivots from. The stock clutch lever and perch have extra hardware on them to engage the parking brake. An aftermarket version is cleaner looking and lighter. ASV makes an excellent clutch lever and perch for around $50-$60. It also has an adjustable reach so you can ensure it is operating the clutch pressure plate correctly. As far as using a park brake, I have never used one while parking during a ride. the only time I've ever used it is during hauling just for extra peace of mind. However if you tie it down correctly, you don't even need it for that.
  5. I agree. Phil at Crankworks is top notch. He can set you up with a stock stroke crank that is trued and welded and also if you want can install heavy duty bearings. Then as you build your engine up, the crank can take whatever mods you decide to go with. He's who does all my cranks.....
  6. Two ideas for you... First it may just be a bad ground or a bad connection where the harness plugs together. Clean all connections and try again. Next would be the stator. The stator has an ignition side and a lighting side. You'll have to pull the flywheel to inspect the stator and see if possibly you can see something there. Other than that, borrow a friend's stator and see if the problem dissappears with the borrowed stator. If it does, there's your culprit.

  10. Someone make offer. Willing to work some on price.
  11. Ditto on the powder coating. It will look better in the long run and the powder coater will plug the holes for you. No worries!
  12. It's going to require you to put spacers on your right foot peg to clear the extended cover. This also means longer bolts on the peg. I also had to tweak the brake pedal to work well with the wider cover. I've never ran a lockup except on engines with an override transmision. If you are still manually shifting with the stock transmission, the lockup may make shifting a little harder. Seems to me the lever would become much harder to pull when the lockup is engaged. Something to consider. I've also heard a stock clutch setup using an aftermarket HD clutch pack can handle 70-75HP before slipping becomes an issue.
