Something else to consider is to get a j-arm frame (87-89). They are lighter from the start than the a-arm frames.

Another very helpful site is ATV Drag Racing Association. www.atvdra.com I agree starting with a used rolling chassis and going from there is your best bang for your buck. I'll warn you about drag racing though... it's very addictive and you'll always be looking for ways to become faster. Trust me on that one!
