How can you measure if a crank is a long rod or short rod while it is still in the bottom half of the motor?

well I took the clutch side apart and the problem was the shift shaft adjuster came loose. I adjusted it up and it seems to work now, I did notice that there is a piece (looks to be pressed in) the hold the to little arms to the shift shaft that has signs of wearing so that may need to be replace soon as well.

Anybody ever had a problem, that once you get in first gear with the clutch in, you can still push the shifter down endlessly. I am not sure what would allow the shifter to shift lower than first gear.

I have a 4mil stroker crank for sale with the ported jugs, 68mm pistons and rings, cool head with domes, v force reeds, pro-design billet intake boots, 35mm Kiehn carbs, this motor is a strong runner hp should be around 85-89hp on gas. This motor is great for duning and dragging. The only reason I am selling it is to go bigger. Pm me for the price if interested.
