Mat Holland Posted August 24, 2008 Report Posted August 24, 2008 Ok, So I am wanting to cut my front fenders. I really like the way that BansheeDan's looks, and I would like to cut mine like his I don't want to mess up so I was needing some tips. Whats the best to use? Jigsaw or Dremel? I went and taped it, and this is what I have. Could you tell me any adjustments that I need to make, if any? Quote
lilmegill727 Posted August 24, 2008 Report Posted August 24, 2008 (edited) mine are cut a little lower than bansheedan's and a are rounded heres mine and btw we used a jigsaw Edited August 24, 2008 by lilmegill727 Quote
ban99 Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 I personally found that a 4 1/2" grinder with a cut off wheel works best. Just stay off your line a bit and use a file to clean it up nice to the tape line. Once your all done, use a propane torch or heat gun on the edge to give it a polished look. DON'T BURN THE PLASTIC. Mat Holland Posted August 25, 2008 Author Report Posted August 25, 2008 I don't like them as well when they are rounded. I like the looks of them when they come to a point, but i'm not too sure on to do it by the exhaust, the beginning looks pretty easy, but the back, by the exhaust looks a little bit harder, because you actually have to make the point. bbcmudtruck Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 I think your tape looks good. I used an cut off wheel, then used a file to clean the edges followed by 400 grit sand paper. Here is a rear view. Quote

dsmrx7 Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 Heres some pics of how we cut my bro's fenders. Before: One side.. Side view of finished product. Whats left of the fenders. A dremel with a cut-off wheel sucks for the job. It melts the plastic and gets messy and throws off the line. So we used a hack saw blade a finished off the edge with 80 grit sandpaper and smoothened it out with 400 grit. Hope this helps. Quote
