I have a choice between VP and Sunoco CAM2 fuels around here. The VP is very expensive... $65 for 5 gallon. And it's not C12. It is VP red.

CAM2 goes for $42 for Standard (purple 110), $44 for Supreme (112 Blue) and $49 for Maximal (red 116).

I buy the Maximal 5 gallons, and I mix that with 5 gallon of 93 Sunoco pump. That is another $20 for the 5 gallon of pump.

$69 for 10 gallon of 105 octane after mixing... just what I need too. Add $7 for 16 oz. of Klotz, and I need 2.5 for mixing 32:1. That's another $17.50.

$86.50 total for 10 gallon. Not as bad as it could be if I used VP fuels. And I don't have a problem, and never did in the past, with the Sunoco race fuels.

What are you guys using (the ones who run race fuel) and why?

I run sunoco 110 its cheap and smells great.I started running it when i went to 17cc domes in my head. I dont have to worry about it not firing with high compression. I had about 165psi.

Wow, I am surprised at how many people are using the Sunoco stuff.

I will continue to use it, it has been serving me well. Seems like it is very consistent and such. The plugs look the same all the time. And I did another plug chop and it looked identical as the one I did last week. Seems to be good stuff.

I read up online and it gets good reviews from the dragsters and hot rod drivers at dragstrips. They prefer it over other fuels and most dragstrips are now starting to carry it as well.

I used TORCO but my local place switched to excaliber pro 1 not sure if its good yet. I may switch to CAM2.

Sonoco 110 is CAM2 made by the same people just labled cam2 where there not allowed to carry the sonoco name.
