2smokefan Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 (edited) I'm not thinking is the best first post and not sure if this is the right section but this is the first time i've thought of selling so i'm needing some input. Due to recent health issues i'm needing to step back and sell some things. I have a 95 banshee that i bought used yet new in 97 and have owned since. It has low hours and hasn't been ridden more than a few hours since 01 due to the fact i have no where to ride or anyone to ride with since i'm not a fan of mud and thrashing. The good: Low hours. Plastic and paint(frame) is in good shape for it's age. Always ran 32:1 spectro or klots super techniplate. Spectro gear oil changed religiously. The bad: Original front tires need replaced (alot of on road) and has 400ex rears. Clutch is at the end of it's life as well as the chain IMO. Plastic is purple and is cut(not completely) front fenders. Circle clip from the kick start shaft got chewed on by the main drive gear and the gear on the clutch basket. I replaced the main drive gear and cleaned up the basket gear with a file and hone(I do some smithing). These would need to be replaced but haven't created any particles in the few times it's been started since. Light covers are missing a couple sections. Mods: Minor port clean up. I didn't change the timing but it seemed to come alive after words and likes bigger mains. Polished cover and link. Partial cut front fenders. Grease zerk added to the carrier after the factory bearings(replaced) took a dump with few hours on them. If you ya'll could give me an idea of what to ask for it it would be much appreciated. If the internals are a issue i don't have a problem fixing that and would actually feel better selling it with those fixed but i'm kinda in a pinch with a stack of medical bills about 3" high. Keyser Soze Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 It really depends on your location. Out west if it is in good shape like you state it is, and you fix the mechanical problems you may be looking at 1500-2000. Here in the midwest you can forget about it. Maybe 1200 if you fix it, or you may be able to get 700 as is. Quote
2smokefan Posted August 19, 2008 Author Report Posted August 19, 2008 (edited) I'm actually in indiana. Maybe i need to edit my profile. Ya it's strait and i'm being 100% honest in describing it. I was hoping for better than that though. I'm sure parting would get more than that and i'd honestly rather blow buffalo at a nickle a head or give it to a family member than sell it for for a grand. I was hoping 2k with fixing the internals. Has the 4 strokes dropped 2 stroke prices that much? Edited August 19, 2008 by 2smokefan Quote
LiftdT4R Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 Id say maybe 1500 if you fixed her up, maybe a G as it sits. There really arent any mods done. I can pick up running mostly stock bikes for 1200-1400 with a little looking out here in NJ. Out west, Cali, Arizona, etc is where these bikes see higher values. Quote
