T_Shee Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 so i just traded a 86 honda 250r for this supposed 02 shee. i knew immediately that it wasnt an 02 when i saw it by the age that it showed but its still a pretty good looking quad with a fair amount of money in it so i went for it. first thing i did when i got it home was check the comp and then checked the vin to see what year it really was. the 10th digit is a k which would mean its a 89. but what i dont understand is this thing has normal a arms top and bottom on both sides. they are as stock as any arms ive seen on a shee with no aftermarket upgrade kit welded in or anything like that. anyone ran into this before and what is going on? i dont really care that much about the year other than getting agrivated at liars saying a quad is a certain year when its not, but i would like to know. thanks in advance Quote
jbooker82 Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 I thought that 87 and 88 had the J arms and 89 and up had A arms. Then some where aound 89-91 they had the goofy rear wheel bolt pattern. 4x156 ( same as the front). 2001 and newer bansehee's have a larger rear light. The light is a tail light and a brake light. the older shee's just have a small light that only comes on when you turn the head lights on no brake light. Quote
dragbanshee Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 Isn't it the very last # of the vin Im pretty sure it is, check that out. Quote
T_Shee Posted August 19, 2008 Author Report Posted August 19, 2008 i thought id heard that 87-90 had the j arms. i am probably wrong though. i looked up the motor last night and its a 89 also so that would make sense that the 89's didnt have j arms. thanks Quote
