TeamRealtreeHD Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 Your lean... move your clip on your needle and put bigger mains in for sure if it's popping and breaking up. Quote
sled_head25 Posted August 14, 2008 Author Report Posted August 14, 2008 up or down a clip?what size mains you think my bud said go down to 240's im to big now.i trust you guys so you tell me Quote
travis6767 Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 Put your clips on the 3rd groove, and try 300mains , 240 would be way lean Quote
TeamRealtreeHD Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 You have 280 mains in it now and it is popping and such. That is lean. So you want to go up on the mains. Definately bump up 2 sizes for sure. What clip are you on now? That can be a big thing too with the needle clip position. Try 300 mains with the needle clip on the 3rd position. Quote
sled_head25 Posted August 15, 2008 Author Report Posted August 15, 2008 My clips are on the fourth one down, swoitch it to 3rd down and now really runs like sh*t.i'm lost trying to switch the cdi out tomarrow see if that does it other then that i'm lost.it use to run awesome with 280's in it Quote
sled_head25 Posted August 15, 2008 Author Report Posted August 15, 2008 oh ya when you look throught the side view glass on the carbs the both go passed the the glass but evenly.is that ok or do they have to be on the middle of the glass at w.o.t Quote
TeamRealtreeHD Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 You have electrical problems then... if it ran good with 280's and was good on the air/fuel mixture jetting wise before, and then all of a sudden that happened, then you have electrical problems. Staor, CDI, etc. Check the gap on the stator, swap the CDO with a friend (make sure it is the same one), and see whats up. Quote
mopar1rules Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 oh ya when you look throught the side view glass on the carbs the both go passed the the glass but evenly.is that ok or do they have to be on the middle of the glass at w.o.t yes its fine if the black dot on the throttle slides, go past the glass window at wot. just make sure that when you give it enough throttle to center the black dot in the window on one carb, that the dot on the other carb is centered as well when holding the throttle at the same position. this will tell you the carbs are in sync. yeah, as stated before, if your jetting was fine before and now this, you have electrical issues.
