Well first off I am new to this forum, and well i've had my banshee for 2 weeks now. I was wondering if anyone had any idea what pipes i could get away with riding on wisconsin trail which need a decibel reading of 96 or less? Any information would be great! I am sorta looking for my best bang for the my buck need to get out in front of the other people i ride with! thanks for your time.!

 

 

ps. its still stock Looking to do slight mods

Welcome to the Forums! I've had LRD's and they IMO are the best pipe for trail riding, make sure you get the adjustable ones too!

I AM NOT SURE OF THE DECIBEL NUMBERS ON FMF PIPES , ON ONE OF MY BANSHEES THAT I TRAIL RIDE I HAVE FMF G-NARLY PIPES WITH THE FMF POWER CORE II .. GREAT POWER EVERYWHERE YOU NEED IT FOR TRAIL RIDING ... JUST HAVE THE BIKE JETTED, GET GOOD REEDS AND GET A TIMING KIT FOR IT .... BIKE WILL WAKE UP BIG TIME ... NOT THAT LOUD EITHER ... CHECK MY YOUTUBE PAGE (EDDIETRADE) . TYPE IN BANSHEE FEVER. YOU CAN HEAR THE FMF G NARLY PIPES IN FULL THROTTLE.

HOPE THIS HELPS... (IF YOU STAY ON TOP OF THE PACKING IN THE SILENCERS IT WILL KEEP THE DBL'S DOWN.

I have t-5's on my trail bike and love'em. if worried about db's you can get a hush kit for them that doesn't hurt performance :thumbsup:

welcome to the headquarters, i have Paul Turner Mids and they have the hardest hit on bottom end than any other pipe i have rode with. i dont know about loudness, but they arent that loud. new they are like $670 or something crazy but if you keep your eyes peeled you can find some used ones for around $300.

If you really think you're going to get tested, you will want a silencer with an ISDE stamping on it. They are the quietest and should be 94 or less. The 2 into 1 are good trail pipes but I'm not sure if they have the ISDE stuff. Otherwise FMF with ISDE will pass for sure, Pro circuit has a good set as well. If you plan on building your motor more than just pipes, stay away from the hush kit stuff. I don't think Paul Turner will have any thing with an ISDE silencer. Hope this helps.

surprised no one has mentioned a 2into1 pipe. Killer pipe for trails and woods racing. I would use nothing else. Not sure on sound but they are not too loud compared to dual pipe setups. I would be willing to build a custom silencer if I had to just to use the 2 into 1 pipe. With the right port setup, they are untouchable in the woods.

that's because the 2 into 1 pipe is not a good trail pipe. It does not make good torque, about the only impressive thing it does is maintain peak rpm once you bring it up on the pipe.

Which pipe are you referring to? I will have to find those dyno sheets. Far from flat on the bottom. More like rip your head off torque. The pipe works well if tuned right due to one sides positive wave becoming the other's return wave. We did find some port timings that made them pretty happy.

dynoport, I got lots of dyno sheets that say otherwise. We ran that pipe at stock duration, and ported by dynoport at 185 on the exhaust. The pro circuits kicked the pants off the dynoport setup. That was torque and hp on the dyno, and riding the bike in the holes.

All I can find right now is a couple build sheets and both bikes had custom pipes by FTZ. I seem to remember us doing some design work with them around an old LRD RH pipe design that was modded for a 2 n2 1. Both builds were for the same team. I know we worked with the Dynoport too and I know we dug some nice torque with them. No matter, sounds like your position is already made. Only takes one wrong component to ruin the harmony of a 2 into 1.
