pabansheematt Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 Holy shit Matt, never thought you had that kick your ass attitude in ya... These guys would have to see your bike on these hills in person.... first they would have to try and climb those hills, then see your bike scream up them. Not to mention it's not all just the bike either. Someone's gotta take the pilot seat Everybodys an expert Tony. Talking about a swingarm, should get it f-in right. I would bet most guys never even scene a bike run the way mine runs. Quote
TeamRealtreeHD Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 I ran a +4 on my Honda 250r and a +7 on my warrior. Never had a problem in 7 years. I agree the plates are much easier and you don't have to worry about them or read stuff that will make you wonder on here Quote

Meat Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 Apparently he doesn't want experience or credible advice...he'd rather just go the free route, and find out NOTHING is free. Who called you credible ? And count me in on one of the guys who ran a +4 degree key for years and never had a single problem. And my banshee has alot of miles on it, Im not a drag racer who's running alot of Horsepower, but a trail rider and I have enough mods to give me around 50hp. For cryin out loud the guy asked how to install a degree key and dagagsygy tells him to sell it. Your a butthole dagogygy. Lose the "experience and credible" ego and and try to be a little more humble and help the guy out or don't say nothing at all. Back when the bansheezone was up, I had a page full of pictures of a degree key install, but the website has been offline for awhile, but there's this "web archive" that has portions of the Bansheezone still available. There's no more pictures, but here's my Degree Key install page http://web.archive.org/web/20031017050943/...KeyInstallation Quote
TeamRealtreeHD Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 The coal crackers are all pissed off today... Meat, where are you from in Shamokin? I am right up the road Quote
Snopczynski Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 I forgot You Guys are all fuckin experts. I never heard of the +4 keys shearing off. However I did hear of +7 keys shearing. I have a +4 on the Banshee for 3 years and one on my kfx 700 for 4 years. No problems with either, however I agree the plate is a better design. For the asshole who said I have a stock swinger your wrong. Is +2 3/4 which happens to be great on the trails. O yea, I'm still climbing bigger and steeper hills then anyone ive scene on here. I had a +4 shear on my banshee and my rhino. Quote

I would bet most guys never even scene a bike run the way mine runs. Take a 300' run in 4.2 seconds carrying the front tires 3/4 of the way. OH wait that's flat though. I'm not doggin on your bike, learn to take a fuckin joke :shoothead: Quote

I'm the only one that told him not to do it? Right? go stick your head back up your ass. I also offered help how to do it shortly afterwards, didn't I? Pull your head out of your ass briefly to read the whole thread... You don't have to have a high HP engine to shear a shit degree key anymore than you have to have a high HP engine to separate a stock crank. I don't know what you bone to pick with me is, nor do I care... Take my advice or leave it....but I'm quite sure I've helped more people on here than you ever have...I didn't get thousands of my posts from arguing with jack asses like you over politics and religion. I got mine from helping and handing out information.... Seriously, STFU. Quote
shanYE west Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 I had a +4 shear on my banshee and my rhino. I've sheared a few too.. the 2nd time it sheared it galled the keyway on the crank, and after that I couldn't even keep a stock woodruff key in it... soo... I had to get a new crank. and this was back when it was just a play bike with bolt ons. Quote
mdhc500 Posted August 1, 2008 Author Report Posted August 1, 2008 (edited) Being new here I did not reply initially with what I wanted to reply with. I did just ask a simple f-in question! Oh, and even if what I wanted to do was wrong/stupid/dumb/inexperienced or what ever all you credible experts said, I'm pretty sure could find a way to try and "help a newb out" without trying to make me look stupid. And to pamatt and xblessedx, I would take your advice before half the shitheads on here because it's 100% clear that you guys actually ride your bikes not just haul them around in a trailer and rub them with a micro fiber detail cloth all f-in weekend. I'm still not going to install the stupid key Thanks to all of those that did reply and were not dicks... Edited August 1, 2008 by mdhc500 Quote
dajogejr Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 Here was my advice...and this is after you spouted off about help and replied being a dick yourself (I got the email) but then you deleted the thread. "So...here's my advice. get the correct tool that threads into the inside of the flywheel, don't use a 3 jaw puller, it will bend the flywheel. Pullers are 10 bucks....make sure you clean the threads on the flywheel, they will be rusty and dirty." Being new...you just have to realize...we get this kinda question all time. That...and boost bottle questions, then is a cub cylinder trail friendly. So some of us that have been on the board have their blood boil a little easy when we get the same question over and over... Moreso because there are a lot of gimmicks out there (Spark plug lock tool, boost bottle, roost boost, etc.)...and our fellow brothers have gotten ripped off a time or two wasting money on this shit. So...if I came off brash, my fault...and apologies. Seriously, welcome to the site. We're all pretty opinionated riders, some old and some new...but we are here for your best interest... MEAT is still an ass clown.... Search for both of our names and compare who helps who...and who acts like a little school girl on political debates, religion, etc.... Quote
Snopczynski Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 Ok, so I think we reached the point where everyone needs to stop posting on this one and leave this alone. Both sides said what they would do on the topic, and lets leave it at that now. PLEASE! Quote
mdhc500 Posted August 1, 2008 Author Report Posted August 1, 2008 Fine... And yes, I did edit myself because I did not want to respond out of anger. And second you being a BHQ veteran, there will be newbies that ask newb questions. No one is forcing you read and answer these posts... Either you want to help or you dont... And again, I already threw that god damn key into the lake...
