did you give it a complete compression check on a good reliable tester? if you did, yes 105 is low. you would need to re-ring at minimum, if the cylinder walls look ok. maybe have to replace pistons to, if the skirts are worn beyond the acceptable limit. if cylinder walls have scoring going on, which the scratches are deep enough to catch your fingernail, then you will need to overbore.

yeah make sure the tester is good. I just did the compression on my bike friday and one said 185 and the other 105. dude my heart dropped. then we pulled out another tester and they both were at 185

i have a 89 with pods, silencers, removed t.o.r.s, and it smokes white if i put my hand up to the tip i get oil on it and the is no packing in the silencer, and im only pushing 105 psi, need help

Depends on what elevation your at.

Bone stock he could be 2000 to 3000 feet and have the top end a little worn but still usable at 105PSI...

 

The two questions that need answering are...

Is it a quality tester or a 10 dollar auto parts store bargain bin special...and as said, your elevation.

yeah, i was just be a little sarcastic with the 10,000 feet remark :smile:

My wife's banshee runs like a champ at 90psi and I'm at 5280 ft. and ride at about 8900 ft. just fine.

 

I'm still going to rebuild this winter but for this summer it's been running really strong!
